DC
Kaylub opened his eyes to find himself in a different apartment. He looked outside his window to see dark and desolate streets. He heard sirens and looked up into the sky to see the Batman symbol. DC, He opened his laptop and got to work on his cases till a familiar poof sound came.
"Loki, you know you aren't supposed to be here." More Black Cloaked officers arrived and looked at Loki like they've done this a million times.
"Come on, Loki, let's go."
"But can't I stay with him?"
"You can't stay with me due to the nature of my mission." Loki sighed as he was escorted back to his own world.
Kaylub rolled his eyes and got back to work on his cases.
The next day, Kaylub went down to a cafe and listened to the conversations including the latest news on the cities vigilante Batman. Kaylub sat at a booth drinking his coco.
Well this is interesting. He thought as he noticed Two-face enter the cafe and the other patrons didn't seem perturbed by the villain/hero. He watched as he flipped a coin then walked out with a latte.
Kaylub finished his drink and got up exiting the cafe as he traveled around the town before realizing he was standing in front of the justice league hall. He shrugs and walks away.
That night Kaylub wore his uniform as his eyes glowed and he exited onto the streets. He wasn't fond of this universe as it could cause problems especially Gotham. And with the Justice League it could get ugly quick if he's caught.
"What do we have here?" Kaylub deflated as he knew that voice. He finished dissipating the Feral before turning to see the Joker with Harley Quinn by his side. "Another bat fanatic?"
"Name's Light, and I'm going to go, just don't kill anyone." Kaylub then left with a flash of light that teleports himself back home.
"Cool stuff," Nightwing says as he is holding Kaylub's laptop. I can't catch a break can I?
"Put that down please. I'd prefer to not have to ask my boss for a new laptop due to you dropping it." Kaylub watches him jump as he swiftly rushes forward and retrieves his laptop before it hit the ground. "It's not hard to not trespass, but it seems heroes can't keep their noses out of other's business."
"Well, if it's a threat, we must handle it to protect our home." Red Robin came around the corner as Kaylub sighed.
"I'm not a threat."
"Prove it," Robin asked as Kaylub turns to see the other one and with him Red Hood.
"No," Kaylub said as Red Hood pulled out his gun and aimed at him. He produces light in his hand and shows it to the heroes in his home. "This is my power to be able to control light. It can't hurt people, but it can hurt Ferals which is why I'm here." He makes the light vanish as the males look at each other.
"We'll leave, but..."
"If I seem like a threat you'll be back and arrest me. I know I know!" They leave as Kaylub sighs sitting on his couch. Everywhere I go. I only hope not all universes will be this involved. Kaylub continued to contemplate this reality of his situation. I'm not supposed to get involved with the worlds, yet they seem dead set on getting involved with me.
A ping went off in his head as he closed his eyes and opened them to see a young woman with ivy eyes and short red hair. She held a glare in her eyes as Kaylub took a seat.
"Why are you here Amilia?"
"Fuck you." Kaylub sighed as he studied her posture. She's guarding herself, there's a mark on her neck she's trying to hide and the hint of pain in her eyes.
"Who did it?" She blinks and her demeanor shifts as tears filled her eyes. "We are the police and if it was someone from a different universe we can resolve it. You have to trust us." Kaylub watches as she breaks down giving away all the information she was holding in. Kaylub gave a nod and a tissue before opening his eyes and being back in his apartment.
He sighed before laying back onto his bed.
"Why are you here?" He asked looking off to the side to see no other then Robin.
"You were sitting there for a while. I tried to get near you, but it seemed you had some sort of force field around you."
"You mean you tried to attack me? The field only appears if I'm in danger. You haven't answered my question."
"Why should I?"
"Because, you're trespassing and I already told you and the other Robins that I wasn't a threat to you, yet you decide to come back mostly out of your own curiosity."
"If you know the answer why did you ask why I was here?"
"Common curitisy. I feel most people don't like being read like a book without their permission. So will you be leaving now or should I prepare the guest room for a new member?"
"Shouldn't you already know the answer to that?"
"Again common curitisy." With that Kaylub watched as Robin leapt out of his window. Damian Wayne...
The next few days went by peacefully. Kaylub managed to find a library and check out books. At night he was followed by a different Robin or even Joker and Harley Quinn for some reason. It wasn't until the end of the first month that he ran into serious trouble.
"Let me out, you don't understand how detrimental it is that I'm able to continue my job freely." Kaylub said as he hit the green sphere that encased him. The entire Justice League were together as Kaylub was trapped by Green Lantern. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aguaman, Flash, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern all look to each other before returning their gaze to Kaylub who was still trying to get out.
"What exactly is this job of yours?" Batman asked as Kaylub sighed.
"Why not ask any of your sidekicks since they decided to pay me a visit the first day I got here." He was getting upset since the Feral he was hunting was a powered one and now that he's caught the Feral was able to make their escape. He focused back to the heroes to notice that they were discussing something among themselves and from what Kaylub could gather based off of body language and reading lips he wasn't going to be free anytime soon. I knew that Feral was up to something, but to run directly through a hero with a tracker light arrow after you is a low.
Then a ping went off in his head. Not the best time or place, but my job is calling. He stopped fighting and crossed his legs slipping his eyes shut as he answered the call.
There before him sat a young boy. Telling from his height and features looked to be just about ten years of age. His posture gave away that he isn't talkative and from the way he rubbed his wrists that he was used to abuse. Kaylub gave a soft smile to the chocolate eyed boy who finally looked up. His dirt hair messy a tangled beyond repair.
"Hello, my name is Kaylub, what's yours?"
"E-Ezekial," his voice cracked as if he hadn't used it in a while. He then instantly looked back down as if Kaylub would hurt him if he kept eye contact.
"Well, Ezekial do you like candy?" This caused Ezekial to look at Kaylub with brightness in his eyes. Kaylub gave a soft giggle as he handed the boy a piece of chocolate that he had on him.
"Thank you sir," he said before eating it. "The other ones were mean." Kaylub nods before giving a quick glare to the mirror behind him.
"They never quite got the whole how to handle other people besides criminals lesson. Now, where are you from... if you don't mind me asking?"
"I live in Gotham, but then an attack happened. The Penguin arrived and then..." he goes silent as Kaylub offers another chocolate piece that makes Ezekial smile.
"You don't have to force yourself to say anymore." He nodded before eating the chocolate and the two sit in silence. "I have to go," this got a wide-eyed look from Ezekial as fear flooded his emotions and he rubbed his wrists.
"P-please stay... the others are mean." Kaylub gave him a soft, gentle smile that calmed Ezekial down.
"I can stay a while longer until you go to sleep." Kaylub said as the small boy yawns. Kaylub rose from his seat and took off his coat wrapping it around the boy and returning to his seat. Ezekial felt warm and safe as he used the sleeves of the coat as a pillow and laid his head down on them.
"Thank you," He said as his voice drifted off.
"You managed to get him to say where he's from." Detective Shonen said as he looked down at Kaylub. Kaylub looked up to his Sensei/Boss and gave a nod. "Now all we need to know is how he got to the black market and who's taking children from universes... what?" Detective Shonen asked after seeing the look of disapproval on Kaylub's face.
"I'm going to return Ezekial to his family as soon as I figure out who and where they are. I'll find out additional information as I go."
"Right, kid first mission second." He gave Kaylub a smile as he watched the young man vanish.
When Kaylub opened his eyes he was locked in a cell in what he could only tell is the Justice Leagues base. He stood up and walked over to the glass. He focused on his light and produced a ball of light in his hand. Good to know my light isn't blocked by them. He stopped and returned his focus to what was around him.
"You've been in that state for a week." Kaylub turned to see Damian Wyane in his normal clothes. "Where were you this time?"
"Do you know of a Penguin incident that resulted in a missing child by the name of Ezekial?" Damian looked at him confused.
"Why?"
"Since I'm locked away I need help doing my job. I'm an officer and currently there's a child roughly ten who's from this universe and I want to bring him home, but I need to make sure there's a home for him to come back too." Damian stood there for a few more minutes before agreeing to help. "Just don't involve the league. The other Robins, Young Justice League, and Teen Titans are the only ones I'll allow you to inform of this. I trust them."
"Why?"
"Because they didn't lock me up without listening to me or you."
"So you know?"
"Yep."
The next few weeks go by as Kaylub remained locked up and mentally traveled to aid in the investigation by talking to Ezekial. When he would return, Damian, or any of the few he accepted help from, would visit and give updates on the investigation within Gotham.
"That's it." Dick said as Kaylub nodded.
"And we're good on my end as well. Now I'll go get Ezekial and when I return you'll take him back to his family."
"Will he remember anything?" Kaylub shakes his head.
"He's not allowed to it's a law." Dick nods as Kaylub closes his eyes.
He opened to see Ezekial asleep wrapped up in his coat. He looked up to Detective Shonen who nodded to him. Kaylub took the boy in his arms and felt the weight of him as he opened his eyes within his cell. He noticed that Dick was no longer present and in his place was the Justice League. Why?
"Because you tried to manipulate the young heroes into aiding your escape." Kaylub blinks.
"I just wanted to help this kid." The field was brought down as Kaylub was held at sword point and Ezekial was taken from him. Once he was out of his arms he swiftly knocked the blade away and did some basic dodging maneuvers to get away from Wonder Woman. He managed to block Green Lanterns attack with a Light blade he made and found his way outside of the cell to enough of a distance that he Light teleported home to find Tim Drake sitting on the couch with his laptop on his lap. "That's mine." Tim Drake looked up with a yelp.
"I tried every password combination yet none of them worked." Kaylub takes the laptop and sits next to Tim as he unlocks the computer by touching the screen.
"That's because it doesn't use a password." He got to work on all the reports he missed during his month trapped by the League. "Oh, by the way, I'm going to be keeping a very low profile since I just escaped from the Justice League who will most likely be trying to hunt me down, so tell Damian, Dick, and Jason not to come after me that includes you because I'm sure that Batman will figure out where you guys go off to." Kaylub glances over to Tim who nods.
After Tim left, Kaylub checked himself into Arkham Asylum and set up a fake name and everything.
At night, he found a way to hunt down Ferals, but remain in Arkham as to not give away any suspicion. The other inmates never questioned the newcomer as his silence was warning all on its own.
"Hi, suger~" Kaylub looked up from the book he was reading and looked right into the boobs of Harley Quinn who decided to lean over him. He tilted his head up and locked eyes with the mad psychiatrist. Blue stared into brilliant blue.
"Can I help you?"
"You should answer that mind reader."
"You and I both know that it isn't mind reading." She then laughs.
"I like you, what's your name suger?"
"Names Noneya." She starts to laugh again before twisting her body around and laying on Kaylub as he lifted his book up to insure she didn't squish it.
"So Noneya, whatcha read'n?"
"A book on the Psychology of mammals." She hms in response as she pulls the book down so she can read as well.
The two read together before the door slammed open and in stormed Joker.
"Harley~ darling~ What are you doing?" She looks up from the book over to Joker.
"Read'n."
"And who's that?"
"Noneya, he was read'n first so I just joined h'm." Joker looked to Kaylub whose focus was on the book then the situation.
"H.Q. are you done with the page because I want to continue reading," he said, showing how little he cared for the conversation.
"In a minute, anyth'n else?" Joker blinked before sitting down in a chair nearby. Harley Quinn returned to the book as the two continued to read.
When sent back to the cells, Harley Quinn traveled with Kaylub who just listened to the rambling of the crazy Psychiatrist as Joker watched them from a distance.
"I'm gay." The two stop as Kaylub kept walking.
"Wait what?"
"You don't have to worry about Harley being taken from you because I'm not interested in her in that way. Though I would love to continue talking Psychology with you during break. Bye." He turned the corner that led to the hall he was staying in leaving two speechless villains behind.
Weeks pass by without much of a problem as Kaylub continued to go by Noneya and Harley, accompanied by the Joker, enlightened him with more Psychological knowledge which turned down her crazy. This kept the two from trying to escape and soon other villains were enticed by Noneya's nonchalant attitude and found themselves not trying to escape. This caught the attention of the heroes as their villains seemed to not be around.
"So you're saying that a simple reverse psychology can have anyone thinking they're wrong or right about a subject." Kaylub nodded to Luthor's question.
Harley and Joker were both busy which left Kaylub alone in the recreational room where Lex Luthor decided to chat to the young man. Now the two were discussing campaign ideas.
"And who are you?" Kaylub turned to see Superman along with the rest of the league behind him. The villains in the room tensed at seeing their enemies in the common area.
"Noneya,"
"You're the one who escaped. What's your goal with being here?" Batman said seeing through Kaylub's trick name.
"I was doing you guys a favor. You won't let me do what I need to do so I decided to lock myself up. I'm not in your way yet I am still able to do my job. Plus I'm a pacifist and I'd rather not get into conflict." Whispers traveled around as the villains come to terms with the fact that Kaylub knew the heroes and how nonchalant he was being.
"So you're a coward," Wonder Woman stated as Lex face palmed.
"And in what way is being reasonable enough to avoid conflict and violence that could cause damage to others not involved being a coward?" Lex asked as Kaylub looked to the man.
"So, heroes, what's it going to be? Are you gonna leave Noneya here with us or are you gonna take him by force for do'n noth'n?" Harley was back along with Joker by her side. Kaylub looked to them then looked around seeing how the villains seemed ready for a fight... a fight for him. He turned back to the heroes to notice that Batman had figured it out as well. They take their leave.
"Well, that was quite interesting, Noneya~ got anything you want to enlighten us all of?" Joker asked as he took a seat across from Kaylub and Harley sat on his lap.
"No," Kaylub said then opened a book he had. The others blink before shrugging leaving the mysterious male alone to his book.
Weeks turned into four months as Kaylub's time was coming to an end. He exited the building and stood in the garden that Poison Ivy was currently working in.
"Hey, Ivy?" The female turned to Kaylub who stood with a book in his hand. "Do you mind if I use your garden?" She raises a brow to such a statement but concludes that Kaylub can't be too dangerous to her flowers.
"I recommend not touching the roses they're poisonous." She said noticing where Kaylub's gaze was.
Once Ivy left, Kaylub placed the book within the rose bed and smiled slightly at the aroma of the roses. He produced a small ball of light within his hand that slowly grew as he walked further towards the center. His outfit changed as his eyes began to glow. Energy wind wrapped around him once he found himself in the middle and reached for the ground the ball of light in his hand. The ball expanded wrapping around him and expanding from him.
