CHAPTER TWO
Certitude
⠀⠀⠀⠀

The pain.

It shot through me at a rapid pace. First through my arm, then towards my head.
It became to much for me, so taking one last look at my crying brother in front of me, I closed my eyes, and let myself sleep within oblivion.

What seemed to be only minutes later, I awoke in a blur.

My vision was hazy, but as it cleared, I found myself facing the ceiling of a familiar room.
Beneath me, I felt a soft plush; the same as my bed.

"Jess?" A voice alerted me.

"St-Stiles?" I stuttered while sitting up quickly, not bothering to notice the headache that flooded to my head.

Stiles was sitting on the end of my bed, eyes wide and his mouth showing a smile.
"No, Jess" He said, standing up on two feet then coming beside me. He pushed me back onto the bed and sat directly to my left. "You should rest. A lot happened so y-"

"No, no i'm fine." I interrupted. I sat up in objection, and stood up. Running my hand along my arm, I felt a silk bandage that wrapped around my shoulder, and that's when I remembered what happened.
Liam and I almost falling to our deaths, a crazed cannibal being killed by an axe and... the bite.

With my back turned away from Stiles, I could hear him shuffle around behind me, and knew that he was stepping closer.

"Yeah, you may feel okay, but me and Scott think it's best if you just rest for a while."
"I've slept enough. I'm fine, Stiles." I groaned, placing my hand against my head that felt like it was about to explode.
I didn't want to admit it to Stiles. I knew I wasn't okay, but I know what happened last night. I feel to mad to do anything right now.
"Jess..."

"I said I'm fine!" I yelled as I grabbed his wrist and held it tight in my hand.
I felt no regret, no guilt. All of my emotions were replaced with anger and... bloodlust.

Then it all stopped.

"Jess!" Scott's voice sounded over my rage.
Looking towards the doorway, I could see Scott standing there, a worried and demanding look upon his face.

'What am I doing?'

To the right of Scott, was the vanity desk my dad had bought me for my tenth birthday.
My eyes trailed to the mirror, and what reflected back at me, almost made me jump out of my skin.

My emerald green eyes, had been replaced with golden yellow ones. A set of sharp canines stuck out from my teeth, and my finely painted nails, had been replaced with long pointy ones. These were the kinds of things that class you as a werewolf.

A werewolf.

With my hand still wrapped around Stiles' wrist, I turned to see him standing there, calm and still.

I could feel my stomach twist as I realised what I had done. I had the urge to kill him. I had the urge to kill Stiles, my non related, idiot brother.

Letting go of him in one quick motion, I replaced my anger with love, and grabbed Stiles around the neck, pulling him into a hug.

"Don't be afraid." He coaxed me as he too wrapped his arms around my back.

Through the mirror, I could see my eyes change from gold to green, and Scott walking towards us, embracing Stiles and I.

⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Scott had explained everything to me. The things I understood, were doubled over by the things I didn't understand.

He wanted to explain the axe murderer first, but I refused to listen until he told me how Liam was. Which luckily, he's okay.
Liam and I had both been bitten for the same reason.

To be saved.

I don't quite understand why Scott didn't let me lose an arm, but he seemed very determined to keep me untouched from the crazed cannibal.

Which brings me to my next confusion.
Apparently, last night the boy that attacked Liam and I, was a boy named Sean Walcott. And the thing that had killed him with the axe, had been a mouthless murderer after Sean's whole family since they were all Wendigo's.

Trust me, I took it better than I though I would. Well, apart from the whole 'you're a werewolf now' thing.

Scott and Stiles are very protective about it too. They've been asking me every five minutes whether or not I'm okay, which is annoying. And Scott's apologised at least ten times to me, since he ignored my wish and decided to bite me anyway.

But currently, my werewolf problem is just a minor thing to them right now. Their main priority is Liam.

Liam was bitten too, and unlike me he hasn't shown any signs that he could possibly be a werewolf. He could end up like Lydia or Jackson. They were both turned into something much more different from the bite.

"So you bit him." Stiles said as the three of us stood in front of the bathtub where Liam was lying in. The duct tape wrapped around him, and one covered his mouth as he grunted and squirmed.

"Yeah." Scott replied calmly, as he decided what to do.

"And you kidnapped him."

"Yeah."

"And brought him here."

"I panicked." Scott raised his voice with his eyebrows arched.

"Yup. This isn't going to end with us burying the pieces of his body out in the desert, is it?" Stiles joked, sending Liam into a panic.

"Stiles!" I complained before leaning down beside the bathtub.

Liam couldn't exactly move, but I could tell he was trying to get away from me. I mean, my brother did kidnap him. He'd have no reason to trust me anymore... which kinda hurt.

Actually, it hurt a lot.

"As a reminder, this is why I always come up with the plans. Your plans suck." Stiles said before I stood up beside them again.

"I know. Which is why I called you. So, what do we do?" Scott asked innocently and irritably.

"I thought you'd know? I mean, you did bite me too. You must have known some idea of what to do." I furrowed my eyebrows, trying not to lose my temper.

Scott and Stiles both sighed in sync, before ignoring my judgment and grabbing Liam out of the tub, then dragging him into Scott's room where a single chair was placed in the middle. They sat Liam down on it as he squirmed and groaned some more.

"Liam, we're going to take the tape off your mouth. If you scream, it goes right back on. If you talk quietly, it stays off. Got it?" Stiles tried his best at interrogating him.

Liam nodded his head, and I couldn't help but feel guilty. He looked just as scared as he had last night, and I wish I could just protect him from this fragile supernatural world he's been thrown into.

"Jess, you feeling okay?" Scott asked, before I nodded my head in response.
See, they ask me every five minutes. Just stop already.

"Okay" Stiles continued before reaching over to Liam's face, carefully ripping the tape off his mouth.

Scott and Stiles stood in front of him, looking tall and intimidating whilst I leaned against the doorway behind them, not daring to make eye contact with Liam.

"Okay, Liam, now you've seen a lot of confusing things tonight. And more confusing things are going to happen because of the confusing things that happened tonight. Do you understand?"

"Not really." Liam muttered, his voice forced and shaky.

"Good. That's good."

"I don't understand either." Scott said, tilting his head in a daze.

"Maybe you should tell him." Stiles addressed with his hand pointing toward Scott.

"Tell me what?" Liam interrupted, his head facing upward.

Scott hesitated for a while, but he knew it needed to be said. "Liam... What happened to you, what I did to you, which I had to do in order to save you, it's going to change you."

"Unless it kills you." Stiles dumbly commented, making Liam's eyes widen in fear. "Shouldn't have said that."

"W-what?" Liam stuttered, his face faltering and his eyes glazing over.

My heart fell, and without thinking, I began walking over to the chair until Scott flung his arm out to stop me.

"Uh... Uh-oh. Oh-oh. Is he... Is he crying?" Stiles fumbled with his words. Yeah, he deserved to feel guilty.

"Liam, it's okay. You're going to be all right." Scott coaxed him. Unable to make any difference, Liam began sobbing and I knew I wouldn't be able to take it anymore. "You're not going to die."

"Probably not." Stiles joked again, unable to shut his mouth.

"Stop it!" Scott and I chanted at the same time.

"Okay, possibly not."

"Stiles!" I glared at him, not letting him make Liam feel any worse than he should.
"Would you just help me untie him?" Scott demanded before he and Stiles bent over, unwrapping Liam from the dull grey duct tape. "Liam? Are you okay?"

Liam stood up, his eyes barely seeming as though he cried. Turning around, he leaned his arms against the chair.

"We're sorry about that. We're really sorry." Stiles apologised, to late for forgiveness.

"Liam?" I mumbled, moving closer to him until I was directly in front of him and the chair.

His face was replaced with anger, while his hands gripped tight on the chair. "Duck" he whispered to me, his hands shifting on the seats rim.

Without hesitation, I bobbed down onto the ground as I watched the chair swing above my head. The wooden chair connected with Scott's body, making the wood break into hundreds of pieces.

Scott fell to the ground almost instantly after impact, and Liam turned to face Stiles with a scowl.

"Liam, what the hell is your-"

Stiles was interrupted, by Liam's fist being pounded straight into his face. Stiles fell back against the wall and drawers, looking confused and frightened all at once.

"What are you doing?" I yelled at Liam, standing up quickly and looking at my two brothers who were now hurt.

Before I could get a reply, he had grabbed my hand, and began dragging me out of Scott's room.

Reaching the end of the hallway, I could hear footsteps racing from behind us. Liam and I turned to see Scott and Stiles looking tired and beaten.

"Get him!" Stiles shouted, before the two of them took down the hall towards us.
Quickly stepping out of the way, the three boys collided with one another, tumbling down the stairs, faster than I thought possible.

The sound of a thump! made me rush down the stairs, almost tripping up myself.
I could hear several voices screaming, all of which sounded like Stiles.

I reached the bottom, only to be greeted with darkness, and a pile of bodies on the ground, shuffling around like maniacs.

Avoiding them, I slipped out the front door that had already been opened. I could've sworn I had seen Liam out there just a second ago.

"I got him! I got him, I got him, I got him!" I could hear Stiles yelling as I ran across the street toward the series of houses.

"Liam!" I called as quietly as possible, knowing that Stiles and Scott would've figured I left the house by now.

"Liam!" I called once more, ending up at a house with bushes surrounding the front yard like a fence.

Standing directly below a street light, I decided to give up, knowing Liam had probably taken off.

OOF!

A scream erupted from my throat, and the night lit street became a blur as I got pulled to the left, instantly being cut by what I assumed were the bushes in front of the house. A hand covered my mouth, whilst an arm wrapped around my stomach.
I suddenly got turned around by the stranger, only to be faced by the obvious.
Liam.

"Liam! What were you thinking?" I whisper shouted, slamming my fist into his chest harder than I should of.

The street light illuminated his face, and his eyes were a sharp blue. He breathed in and out quickly, out of breath as he loosened his grip on my waist before completely pulling away. A strange feeling swept through me, like a shudder. But I decided to blame it on the cold.

"I know what I saw last night, Jess. Well, not exactly... but I saw what happened to you and... to me. What Scott did to us." Liam breathed, with his face only inches apart from mine. Which I would've found pretty annoying if I wasn't so focused on what he was saying.

"He did it to help us." I defended, not really sure if it sounded all that believable.

"Help us? He sunk his teeth into us. We could've died. Twice!" Liam sassed, just as Stiles had done to me many times before.
By twice he probably meant the Wendigo letting us fall to our deaths, and the bite allowing the possibility that we could bleed to death. Either of which, did not sound to appealing.

"What did he mean by something's going to change us?" Liam asked, changing from questionable to serious.

I stared at the ground, not wanting to give away any doubtful looks. "You don't need the life that's coming. You deserve to stay a normal teenager, like I wished I had. You deserve to be safe. And trust me, Scott's going to do whatever he can to make sure that you will be safe." I trailed off, beginning to fidget with my hands. "Something big is happening."

A slight touch on both my shoulders, sent a chill down my spine. Liam's hands were gripping on to them, making my head tilt up to face his eyes, that stared back into mine.

"How big?" He asked calmly.

A tingle ran through my arms, so I lifted them in front of me, resting my wrists on Liam's neck so I could see my arms from a clear view.

The small cuts I had received from when I was dragged into the bush, were now healing. The skin pulled back, and became good as new within seconds.

The immediate shock hit me of what will happen to Liam and I, making me afraid of what we'll both have to face, if he really is a werewolf.

Looking back to his eyes, I realised how awkward it must look for us to be sitting in a bush together, with his hands on my shoulders and my arms upon his chest. But honestly, I don't care. I want to be straight forward with him.

I want him to be safe.

I mentally prepared the answer he's been waiting for in my head, and spoke without any hesitation or doubt.

"Big enough to change your life."

⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Liam had tried convincing me to go with him to his house, but I rejected his offer, knowing that I'd have to be home to get some sleep before school in those next few hours.
It's strange, that he had asked me over to his house. On normal conditions, the guy would ask the girl over to their home to meet their parents, or just to play video games. But Liam only wanted me to go because he wanted more information from me, and he just didn't trust Scott. But of course Scott's my brother, so I'd rather stick to his side no matter what.

By the time I got back home, Stiles' jeep has vanished from his usual spot in the driveway.
Walking through the door, I tried my best at staying quiet so I wouldn't alarm Scott of my presence. However, knowing my luck, Scott was waiting for me in my room.

He told me off for running away just like any other brother would, but he was also glad to know that Liam still somewhat trusted me.
Scott also thinks that I should try befriending him, so that I can watch out for him at school without Scott and Stiles seeming like complete stalkers. Or as I'd like to put it, absolute Derek wannabes. I mean come on, Derek shows up at school and not one student apart from us notices him spying? It's very creepy.

Throwing my bag onto the empty seat beside me on the bus, I tried to block out the voices of every other kid on board. Most of which were freshmans. Annoying, drama based freshmans. Oh how I hate being one of them.
Chatter of Liam from the front grabbed my attention, and I decided to look away from my phone, so I could figure out who was talking.

"Maybe he's already at school." A blonde boy said, while he held a girl with brown hair in his arms.

"There's no way. He lives at least three miles away." A dark skinned boy mentioned.
Mason, I think his name was. I've seen him around school a lot, considering he and I are locker neighbours. I think he's my biology partner too? I don't know, I never pay attention to anyone my age.

"Have you heard from him at all?" The girl asked, twirling the blonde boys shirt sleeve around with her fingers.

"I tried calling him last night but he never answered. I couldn't get a hold of him until earlier this morning. Said he was with a girl." Mason answered.

My head perked up in interest, at the mention of me.

"I bet it's that girl. The one he always talks about." The brunette girl chuckled, never breaking away from her boyfriend.

"Who? Jess?" The blonde one asked.

Me? Liam talks about me? There's no way. I'm the invisible one. No one talks about me.
The brunette girl shook her head in rejection, making me feel what could only be described as fire in my stomach. "No, his lab partner, Lindy. I saw them after morning lacrosse practice the other day. She had his hands all over him."

Jealousy.

It shuddered through me in one go. Why? I couldn't explain it myself. I barely knew Liam but I knew that I couldn't deny how I felt.

I felt... angry.

My head began to hurt, much like the headache from last night, and I feared what would happen next. Raising my phone to my face, I looked in the musty reflection. Golden eyes began to slowly appear, before disappearing again. It was a never ending cycle, the two colours merging together as the headache grew into a pain that became unbearable.

'No. No, you can't change now. Not now!'
Letting my phone slip out of my fingers, it dropped onto the ground where I was ready to reach under the seat and catch it. Although, it wasn't my priority.

I didn't want anyone to see me change, if that is what's really happening. So I kept my head low, and out of sight.

At that moment, the conversation between me and Liam last night began to play within in my head.

"Repeat after me... pain is only instinct..."

"W-What?"

"Say it."

"P-Pain is only instinct..."

"Pain is only instinct..." I repeated him aloud. This time, it would be me heeding my own words.

"...and instinct is what makes us human." he finished; voice fading out — my heart beating.

"...and..." taking a deep breath, I grabbed my phone, my claws disappearing the more I reached for it, "...instinct is what makes us human."

Bringing the phone to my face a second time, I saw the emerald green of my eyes, the gold leaving them.

Phew.

Standing up from my position on the ground, I looked around the bus to see it completely empty. Outside, students walked around the school.

Had I really been 'searching' for my phone this whole time? Grabbing my bag, I slung it over my shoulders and ran out the door. I need to find Scott, I need to tell hi-

Slam!

I collided with someone who was only inches taller than me, but still double my size.
The boy turned around, to reveal himself as the blonde boy from the bus.

"Jess, right?" He asked with a smile.

"Y-yeah." I forced out an answer, feeling intimidated.

Doing my best to push past him, I bumped into another boy. Mason.
"Ugh. Oh, ah sorry." He apologised, dusting off nothing in particular from his shoulder.
"It's okay." I replied with an innocent tone.
"Jess?" A familiar voice sounded from in front of me and Mason.

My attention drew towards it, and my stomach twisted into a knot at the sight of Liam, who looked tired and out of breath.
"Hey." I waved, pushing past any thoughts of he and this Lindy girl.

Liam smiled back, but his face faltered, before he started breathing heavily again.

"Dude, are you okay?" Mason asked, stepping closer behind me which made me feel very uncomfortable.

Liam shifted on his feet, then grabbed my hand before taking off with me following close behind. "I'll talk to you later. I gotta get to class." He replied to Mason, as we both disappeared into the school.

⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀

"Liam." I complained, still being pulled down hallways I've never seen before. "Liam."
"Jess." He mimicked my tone, not bothering to stop.

"What are you doing?" I asked as he pulled us into another hallway that seemed abandoned.

"Your brother, I don't trust him."

"So what, I shouldn't either?" I felt hurt but I also understood where he was coming from.
"No, I just don't want you to get hurt like you did-"

"Liam, hey!" Stiles popped out from in front of us both, walking closer.

Turning us around, Liam tried to get away, but Scott had stepped up behind us, blocking any way of escape.

"We need to talk." Scott said as he and Stiles stepped closer.

"No, you need to back the hell up, okay? Both of you." Liam pushed me behind him, his hand still locked with mine.

Scott's eyes trailed to my eyes, an uncertain feeling shot off him as he sighed. "Can you just listen for one second. Please?"

Giving Liam's hand a tight squeeze, I let go and pushed away from him to stand next to Stiles. Liam glared at him, causing Stiles to shift on his feet while he cleared his throat.

"Liam... We're brothers now." Scott commented, almost making me laugh.

"What?"

"Oh, God. That's..." Stiles trailed off, shaking his head.

"What are you talking about? We just met and you bit me." Liam defended, his hands becoming fists.

"The bite... " Scott started, looking nervous and unsure. "The bite is a gift."

"Oh god." I muttered, slapping the palm of my hand onto my forehead. Did he really use Derek's saying?

"Scott, stop. Please stop." Stiles groaned, stepping past me to stand next to my embarrassing brother. "You, you, we're trying to help you, you little runt." He pointed at Liam, who glared at him like he usually does.

"By kidnapping me?"

"Just to clarify, Scott kidnapped you. Okay? I aided and abetted." Stiles bobbed his head up and down, using his weird arm movements to explain.

"Liam, I've gone through this before. Something's happening to you. Something big." Scott became serious.

"Jess said that. Okay, nothing's happening to me." Liam's hand trailed towards his arm, where a bandage covered it from the bite he had received. He tore it away quickly, revealing a completely healed arm. "Nothing!"

Having done it before, I thought Liam was going drag me away with him, but instead he stormed off without a single word to me.

"He healed." Scott whispered, turning away from Stiles and I.

"What if he's not a werewolf?" I questioned, fearing what would happen to him if he isn't. I also fear for what could happen to him if he is a werewolf.

"We'll find out tonight."

⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Six of us stood between two busses, discussing what to do about Liam. I half listened, deciding whether or not I should say something to him. Apologize maybe. But then again, what's there to apologise for? I feel bad for him, and I want to change what happened. But he and I are on the same boat. We've both been recently bitten. I'm terrified of what might happen tonight. I've seen the things it did to Scott.

"I'm not sharing my basement." Malia said, furrowing her eyebrows.

"Actually, it's my basement. And my mom noticed how you tore it up last time." Lydia sassed, twirling her strawberry blonde locks between her fingers.

"All right, she's still learning." Stiles defended, stepping closer towards Malia.

"But, we're going to use the boathouse for Liam. It's got support beams. We can chain him to one of them."

"And what about me?" I asked, feeling left out and nervous.

"Right, well you get to pick a buddy. It's Malia or Liam. Take your pick and you'll be lucky enough to stay with them." Stiles joked, which led me to scoff at him with my arms crossed.

"Liam." I answered, not letting Stiles get the glory of a joke. The group stared at me with eyebrows raises, probably confused at how quick I was to answer Stiles' joke. "Me and him were bitten together. I think it's only right that we stay together."

"But how do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn't trust us?" Kira asked, and the four others brushed off my remark like it was nothing. Of course to me though, it suddenly became meaningful. I'll stick with Liam. We're in this together.

Stiles sighed, taking a deep breath in before speaking again. "I say if it keeps him from murdering someone we chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake."

"I'm in." Malia agreed seconds after.
I could feel my blood beginning to boil, and my body temperature became an oven. Anger flushed through me, as I clenched my fists to stop any possibility of changing.

"How about you both shut your mouth. If you're going to joke about the attempted murder of someone, then maybe you should rethink of what it would be like if one of you were Liam." I spat, beginning to step towards the couple. My eyes landed on Stiles, and decided to make him my target considering the hard time he's given Liam. "Huh, Stiles? What if it were Malia? Would you care if she were to-"

"Jess!" Lydia interrupted with a soft, yet sturdy shout. I turned to see her giving a nod and a reassuring smile at me, before turning away toward Scott.

"We're not killing or kidnapping him." Scott clearly spoke, pulling me away from Stiles and Malia.

"Sorry." I whispered, before cowering behind my brother in shame. Stiles and Malia both stared at me wide eyed, but nothing could explain the hurt and guilt that had washed over Stiles' face.

"Then let's be smarter. We tell him there's a party and invite him." Lydia said, lifting the past conversation off of my shoulders. I should thank her for that.

"So, you're going to ask out a freshman?" Stiles questioned, his tone rising and falling from quiet to loud.

"No, I'm done with teenage boys" Lydia said as she shifted her feet until she was facing me. "But there's someone who isn't."

Everyone then turned their head towards me, Lydia and Kira smiling at me widely.

"Me? What, no. We're friends there's no way he's gonna..." My heart began to beat at a fast pace, and my breathing became rapid as I gazed at the five of them. "...why?"

"She's right." Scott crossed his arms, a grin appearing on his face too. "I've seen the way Liam is with you. He trusts you, Jess."

"He holds your hand a lot too. Like a lot." Stiles commented. I felt butterflies in my stomach, and absolutely regretted what I had said to him and Malia.

Thinking about this morning on the bus, I remembered the conversation Liam's friends were having about the girl named Lindy. I felt jealous, and the same feeling rushed through me right now. It's true, there's no way he and I could... just no.

"He's just protecting me. I-I guess."

"Exactly. He cares." Kira pointed out, but I could barely believe it myself.

Before I could respond, I was being pulled away towards Lydia's locker, and I couldn't help but hide the red blush I felt creeping onto my cheeks.

⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Lydia had taken this as the opportunity to use me as her model mannequin. It really, really sucked.
It was nothing to over the top though, she only added lipgloss, mascara and blusher to my face, as well as doing some rearrangements to my hair and clothes.
She untied my hair from the loose ponytail, and let it fall free to it's normal length just below my belly button. Lydia pulled my denim jacket off, so that my white tank top could be seen. She insisted on trading shoes for the time being, but I could never wear high heels. Especially, not in front of the school.

Walking down the steps, I couldn't help but feel strange about it all. Just a few days ago, I thought Liam was just some whacked up kid who could've been a werewolf. But ever since last night, I can't help but feel strangely tied to him. I trust him, and I hope he trusts me. I can't explain the whole jealousy thing either, but I want to make sure Liam's safe. Which is why I hope this plan works.

Wait, I don't even know what I'm suppose to say to him.

Shit.

My eyes landed on Liam, and I felt relieved that he was by my locker, so I wouldn't seem to obvious. Each step I took, I focused on Liam, who was beside Mason. Liam's eyes suddenly found mine, causing me to almost trip on the final stair.

Almost.

Never leaving eye contact with him, I smiled and noticed his mouth was wide open, as Mason stood beside him looking dumbfounded.

Reaching my locker, I finally looked away from Liam's blue eyes. Purposefully snapping the lock, I let it drop to the ground and pretended to act like it was an accident.

"Ugh, seriously?" I sighed, bending down to pick up the lock on the ground.

"I got it." I heard Liam say. His hand reached out before mine, and he snatched it in his hands before I could.

"Here." He said, putting his free hand out in front of my face.

"Thanks." I placed my hand in his, and let him pick me up. I was at a loss for words once he lifted me up, because it was so sudden and so quick.

"Y-your locker?" He said while walking towards it quickly.

"Uh, yeah." I chuckled, while he tried putting the lock back on it's former spot.

"That won't work."

"It was worth a try." He said, giving me the lock back.

His blue eyes fell upon my green ones, and I wished that they'd stay this blue, and not turn into the golden ones I fear.
"I could just..."

Cling!

Liam had taken my locker straight off the hinges like it was nothing. My eyes widened, and so did his. The strength he'd need to be able to pull that off naturally would be impossible.

The bite is already affecting him.

"I uh... um." Liam stuttered as he held my locker door in both his hands. We looked around the hallway to see that a few people had noticed. One of which was Mason, who still stood there waiting for Liam.
I had forgotten he was even there.

"Thanks." I simply said, as I turned to my locker and grabbed out a bunch of random books that I didn't need.

Liam looked confused, but he somehow managed to place the locker to its original place. Well, as original as it could ever get.

"Hey."

"What, what oh yeah?" Liam muttered, gazing back at me.

"Are you okay?" I questioned, thinking about how nervous he seems right now and also wondering about how he's been taking the whole bite situation.

He sighed, but smiled none the less. "Yeah. Yeah I'm okay. Why do you ask?"

"No reason." I perked my head up, and twirled around on my sneakers, walking away from Liam down the hallway, a smile planted on my lips.

A minute later, I had made it out the doors of the school and was at a large seating area that not many people go to. The grass was a bright green, coated with flowers. The sky was a baby blue and the sun shone through the light clouds that dotted the sky.
Turning the corner, I hid behind a wall and waited for Liam. I knew he was coming because I could hear his conversation with Mason as soon as I left. I guess that's one thing I had always wanted out of this; werewolf hearing abilities.

Right on queue, the doors I had just come from opened, and a panting boy could be heard.

"Jess?" Liam called.

I mentally prepared myself for what I was going to say, and turned the corner only to be greeted with a huge force smacking into me.

Ouch.

Before I knew it, I was on top of someone, out of breath as my body hurt all over. Opening my eyes, I saw that Liam was beneath me, his eyes already meeting mine.
A loud chuckle escaped me, and I ran my hand through my hair that had now become a great mess.

Liam laughed too. His hand was placed on the back of my waist, sending shivers up my spine at the touch.

"Well that was life changing." He joked, sitting up a little.

"Right. But you never answered my question."

"I said I was fine." He smiled whilst we both got off each other and sat on the grass.

"Which is a lie." I commented, beginning to collect all of the books that I had dropped. Well, I got the closest books anyway. I was to lazy to get the rest.

Sighing in defeat, he lay down on his back and began ripping out grass with his hands.
"You and Scott both said I was going to change."

I nodded my head in response, making sure he could see. He smiled at me and I smiled back, feeling the world lift off of my shoulders.

"You never told me how."

How? I doubt he'd want to know. I don't think he'll understand anyway. I'm so afraid that if I tell him, he won't believe me. But then I'm also terrified that he'll have to find out the same way as Scott did.
By the full moon.

Lying down beside him, with my books held tight on my chest, I smiled.

"Liam."

"Jess." He mimicked me again. I could feel the blush begin to creep up on my cheeks again, and I had to stop the temptation of wanting to smack the colour out of me.

"Do you like parties?"

Oh man, the cringe is strong with this one. The whole 'look, I'm suddenly a werewolf!' plot is so overused and overworked, but at the time of beginning this, there were (surprisingly) only six or so Liam fanfics on site, so I went along with my first initial though — aka, make Jess a werewolf lmao (so original).
