Adebola sighed in relief has she entered the house. It was a hectic day for her work and she missed her daughter. She walked to her daughter's room and saw her playing a game on her iPad.
"Honey,can I come in," Adebola said.
Modurotoluwa looked up in delight as she heard her mother's voice.
"Mummy," She shouted as she ran to hug her mom.
"How are you?"Adebola replied as she hugged her daughter.
"Fine,mummy. I missed you today,"
"I missed you too,"
"Hope you had fun?"
"Yeah,I did. I played Scrabble with Aunty Adeire and I met uncle Chinonso." Modurotoluwa replied in excitement.
"Really? That's nice. Baby, since you can't go to the amusement park,I have decided to make it up to you. We'll go to the cinema tomorrow and I'll take you to my office," Adebola said smiling.
"Really mum,I love you so much," Modurotoluwa replied joyfully.
"I love you too honey. Let me go and freshen up for dinner,"
"I will come with you mummy,"

"Where is Aderenle?" Adebayo asked frowning as he discovered that Aderenle was missing from the table.
"I don't know dad, I'll call him now," Adebola said. As she was speaking, they heard someone come in and Adeire said,
" That should be him."
Aderenle held Helena hand as he led her into the house. Her eyes were swollen from crying and she looked very tired. The sitting room was close to the dinning so when they came in the whole family saw them.
"Dad,mum,Can Helena spend the night?" Aderenle asked.
"Sure,she can. Janet!!!" Temilola said as she called the maid to take Helena to her room.
"Aderenle,go and freshen up so you can eat," Temilola instructed.
Adebayo's phone rang and he left the table to receive the phone call.
"Grandma,mummy is taking me to the cinema tomorrow," Modurotoluwa said in excitement.
"Wow,what movie will you see,"
"I don't know yet but it will be a cartoon," She replied.
"That's good. Will you bring something for Grandma?"
"Yes but we are just going to the cinema,I can't buy anything,"
"We might go to the mall to,"Adebola said.
"Really mum, I will buy a new set of Barbie dolls and some clothes. Mummy can I buy some shoes too and ice cream?" Modurotoluwa said in one breath
"Yes,we will buy anything you want," Adebola replied smiling.
"Like mother like daughter," Temilola said.
Adebayo returned to the table and said,
"Modurotoluwa can you go and finish your food in your room?"
"Yes, grandpa,"
"Fine,Alice come and help her," Adebayo said as he called out to a maid.
When Modurotoluwa left he said,
"Adeire go and call your brother for me. Tell him to come immediately,"
"Daddy is everything okay?" Adebola said.
"No, Aderenle needs to explain something to us,"
Few minutes later, Aderenle came to the dinning room with Adeire.
"Aderenle,do you have to explain anything to us?" Adebayo said calmly.
"Dad,I.......er............." Aderenle said stammering.
"Will you speak up now because the DPO just called me," Adebayo said raising his voice in a way that shook everyone present.
"Dad,it was not Helena fault,"
"Do you want to talk now or do you want me to call the police on the both of you?"
"Dad,please calm down," Adeire said softly.
"The man that shot Modurotoluwa was Helena ex-boyfriend," Aderenle said looking down.
"What do you mean?" Temilola said.
"Apparently,the man is dead. They found his head in that girl's house. They were even living together," Adebayo explained.
"Aderenle when did you know this?" Adebola asked.
"Sister B, I didn't mean to keep this from you?"
"I said when did you know this?" Adebola shouted.
"The day Modurotoluwa was shot," Aderenle said and Adebola gave him a dirty slap.
"Adebola!!!" Adebayo said.
"Dad,he knew all this while and he didn't say anything. Our lives are in danger,my baby cannot go to school and you chose to keep quiet. I don't even know what to say to you," Adebola said in tears.
"Sister B, I am so sorry,"
"You betrayed all of us. You could have told me. Right now,I am so mad at you," Adebola said as she walked out.
"The police will invite you both for questioning," Adebayo said.

Aderenle knocked gently on the door of the guest room and Helena opened it.
"Can I come in?" Aderenle said and Helena nodded.
"Are they mad at you?" Helena asked.
"Yes," He replied quietly
"I can packed my things and leave,"
"No,it is not your fault." He said as he sat on the bed. Helena sat beside him and said,
"I am so sorry. If I had listen to you,maybe........"
"Shhhhhh, Helena whatever is happening right now is not your fault," Aderenle interrupted holding her hands.
"The police will invite us for questioning tomorrow," Aderenle said and Helena nodded.
"Can you stay here tonight?" She asked softly with tears in her eyes and Aderenle nodded.

Adebola entered her office with Modurotoluwa walking beside her. Her office was large, though,not as large as her father's.
"Mummy,your office is big," Modurotoluwa said in awe.
"You should see your grandfather's own," Adebola replied as she pressed the intercom.
"Mummy,is grandpa and uncle Dee's office also in this building?"
"Yes baby,"
"Will you take me to see them?"
"Maybe but not now because I have to work and I don't want you to disturb me," Adebola instructed and Modurotoluwa nodded as she went to sit on one of the sofas.
Adebola's secretary- Chioma, entered her office holding a tablet. Chioma was dressed smartly in a purple chiffon shirt and a black skirt with low heels black shoes.
"Good morning ma," Chioma said.
"Good morning Chioma. Clear my schedule for this afternoon,I have to take my daughter somewhere," Adebola instructed.
"Okay ma, you have a meeting with the investors from Canada in five minutes,"
"Alright,take this file to the venue, I'll be there shortly," Adebola said and Chioma obeyed.
"Baby,I have to go to a meeting,will you be okay?"
"Yes mum, I'll just stay here and watch TV,"
"Okay baby, don't leave the office,"
"Okay mummy," Modurotoluwa said as she turned back to watch the TV.
As Adebola walked to the venue,she bumped into someone and her phone fell down. She looked up and saw Detective Olaoluwa.
I will stop putting Detective,so it will just be Olaoluwa.
"I am so sorry," He said as he bent down to pick the phone. The screen of the phone cracked a little.
"I am so sorry, I'll repair it," Olaoluwa said.
"It's okay,it is just the screen. Why are you here?"
"To see you,"
"I have a meeting right now,can you wait?"
"Yes,I can,"
"Okay, I'll tell my secretary to let you wait in my office," Adebola said.

After the meeting, Adebola walked into her office and she saw Modurotoluwa and Olaoluwa laughing. Modurotoluwa was sitting close to Olaoluwa and they looked so adorable together.
"Do you catch a lot of bad people?" Modurotoluwa asked not noticing the presence of her mother.
"Yes,I do,"
"Will you catch the bad man that is disturbing mummy and the one that is making her worry?"
"Yes,I will,"
"Promise?" Modurotoluwa said showing him her Pinky finger.
"I promise,"
Adebola coughed slightly and Modurotoluwa face lit up as she saw her mummy.
"Mummy, Mr Olaoluwa is a detective," She said in excitement as she ran to hug her mum.
"Really? That's great," Adebola said smiling.
"And he said he will help us,"
"Did you thank Mr Olaoluwa?"
"Oops,I forgot," Modurotoluwa said as she ran back to thank Olaoluwa.
"Hi,I am so sorry for wasting your time," Adebola said sitting down.
"It's okay. I came to ask you some questions," He replied.
"Modurotoluwa,can you stay with my secretary for some time. Mr Olaoluwa and I want to talk,"
"Okay mummy,"
"So,what is it?" Adebola asked when her daughter excused them.
"This case has zero leads and I really want to ask if you suspect anyone,"
"No,I don't. I don't really think anyone I know will do this to me,"
"According to my research,the circumstances around your daughter's birth is unknown,"
"Yes,it is."
"Miss Adebola,I am so sorry but you have to tell me about it,"
Adebola sighed and said,
"Hmmmm.... I just got back to Nigeria and I wanted to get a job. I didn't want to work in ADT cooperations because I wanted to be free. I told Cynthia- my classmate in primary school. She contacted me through Facebook and I thought she was a good person. She said she knew someone who could help me and I was happy. She took me to an office and told me to wait for the manager. I felt a sharp pain on my head and the next thing I can remember is that, I was in a blindfold begging a man. I was raped by someone I don't know," Adebola said sorrowfully.
"Have you been in contact with your classmate?"
"No,she blocked me,"
"What is her name?"
"Cynthia Obi was her Facebook name,"
"Fine,I know this was hard for you and thank you so much for being honest," Olaoluwa said sincerely.
"You...."
"Ma,there is an emergency. The Canada investors want to withdraw their support," Chioma said and Adebola stood up immediately.
"Where are they?" She asked hurriedly.
"At the airport,they are going to Abuja," Chioma replied.
"Modurotoluwa,I don't think I will be able to take you to the mall. I'll make it up to you,I promise," Adebola spoke to her daughter who was standing beside her.
"Mummy,you promised," Modurotoluwa said with tears in her eyes.
"Honey,I am so sorry,", Adebola said remorsefully.
"It is not fair mum,you always do this," Modurotoluwa said crying.
"Baby,I am so sorry,"
"I can take her to the mall," Olaoluwa said.
"Really," Adebola and Modurotoluwa said simultaneously and Olaoluwa nodded smiling.
"Thank you so much. I hope you don't mind if the security men go with you."
"No,I don't,"
"This is my credit card. There is no limit,so she can buy whatever she wants," Adebola said giving him her credit card.
"Thank you so much. Honey,have a nice time okay,"
"Okay mummy,I love you."
