Little one

"Don't worry, honey." Margene says. "You can live with me."
Arvilla chuckles through her tears.
"It's about time I cleared all that junk out of the second bedroom."
"Yeah, and we have that apartment just above our garage. It's a perfect size for you and the baby!" Carol adds.
"Heh.. yeah.." Arvilla sniffles.
"Where should we go?"
"Oh." Arvilla wipes her cheeks with a tissue. "I'd like to take Joe somewhere for a change." She then pauses for a moment.
"You know, before I met him..
The only trip I'd ever been on was.. was with my.. with my dad to Mexico." Arvilla let out a tearful chuckle.

"There's this beach in Baja."
"You promised us a beach." Carol says.
Arvilla laughs through her tears. "Yeah, I did. I did!" She nods.
"Let's go!"

Later that evening the three women sat out on the beach, talking and enjoying some food.
"Maybe thing's work out in ways that we don't understand." Carol says.
"I suppose." Arvilla says as she makes her sandwich.
"I mean look at Joe. When he left Santa Barbara, he didn't expect to live the rest of his life in Pocatello."
"Well who expects that?" Margene says.
"Or to die in Borneo?
But you know what? I don't think he would've changed a thing."
Carol smiles softly before she asks, "What do you think you're gonna do now?"
"I don't know." Arvilla lifts her hands and smiles cutely.

"I don't know. I-I-I don't have to know."
"Well you're not alone." Margene says.
Carol nods and says, "Amen."
"I mean I do have to think about this little one now but.. I think we'll be alright." Arvilla places her hand on her stomach.
"You will! Gosh, you already look like a mother. Doesn't she, Margene?"
"She does!" Margene smiles.
Arvilla laughs and says, "Are you saying I'm showing already?"

"Haha! No, not yet. There's just something different about you. You're glowing."
"Thank you." Arvilla says with a beautiful smile.

That evening Arvilla laid down looking up to the beautiful sky with one hand resting on her stomach as she spoke to her unborn baby.

"I know you're just a tiny little bean right now but, I think you can still hear me.
.. I just wanted to tell you that it'll be alright. I don't know what our future holds right now but.. I know that I will take care of you.. and I know that I will do my best to be the best mother I can possibly be. It's me and you against the world, kiddo. Now that daddy is in Heaven.. you're my new travel buddy." Arvilla smiles through her tears.
She then softly rubs her hand back and forth.
"I can't wait for all of the adventures we're going to go on, little one."

The next morning Arvilla got up and grabbed the ashes she had kept. She then went over to put her feet in the water.
Arvilla grabbed a handful of Joe, and smiled as she threw him in the water.
"Joe Holden is a man of the world.. But your little baby needs just a small piece of it's daddy. So I'm keeping just a small part of you. I know you'd be okay with that, Joe." She smiles softly.

Arvilla then walked back to the car as the other two were just starting to wake up.
"Good moning." She smiles.
"Good morning.
Arvilla shuts the door, and the glove compartment pops open.
Arvilla tries shutting it, and then Margene, but it just was not staying closed.
Margene noticed something was blocking it from staying shut.
When she saw what it was, she was speachless.
"Arvilla."
"Yeah?"
"Look."
Arvilla takes it and smiles.
"Oh Joe.
You just couldn't resist, could you?"

"Last will and testament." She whispers.

"He didn't forget!" Margene smiles.
"Nope! No, he didn't forget." Arvilla nods.
"It's funny. You know all that stuff we said last night about.. things turning out how they're supposed to.." Margene says.
"We were just trying to make you feel better." Carol adds.
Arvilla turns to her friends and smiles.
"I do." She giggles. "I do feel better!"

"Have you ever been to uh.. Argentina?"
All three women laugh.

"Let's get out of here!" Arvilla says.
Arvilla drives off, ending a beautiful chapter in her life, and beginning the next beautiful chapter.
With Joe in her heart, and their baby in her belly, Arvilla was ready to take on the world!
"Arvilla?" Margene says.
"Yeah?"
"When I die, I want you to cremate me scatter my ashes."
Arvilla laughs and says, "Go to hell, Margene!"

For those of you who have not seen the deleted scenes to this movie, this was the second alternate ending.. minus the baby of course lol! I really wish Arvilla finding Joe's will would have been in the final cut. It would have given us a straight answer, instead of us having to kinda figure it out on our own lol.
The first alternate ending involved them finding the will, but ended with Arvilla throwing it into the ocean.. Not my favorite lol!
I'm excited to continue this story and go deeper into these characters!
Any guesses on what the gender is going to be? I will reveal it soon! :)
