One week later.

Robert arrived at Arvilla's house to pick them up for lunch.

"Hello beautiful."

"Hi honey!  Bobby, you'll be very proud of me for what I've scheduled!"

"Ooh what?"

"An appointment with my doctor! I'm finally gonna get on birth control!"

"Woo hoo!"

Arvilla giggles. "It's next Tuesday."

"The second?"

Arvilla's smile fades. "Next Tuesday is the second?"

"Yes."

"That's Joe's third anniversary.."

"Oh that's right!
.. Are you okay?"

"Yeah.." Arvilla looks down.  She then takes a deep breath and looks up. "I'm alright."

Robert smiles softly and kisses Arvilla's nose.

June 2nd.

"Today is daddy day?" Joseph asks. "It daddy's birfday?"

"No, today is the day daddy went to Jesus."

"Ohhh!  In Heaben?"

"Yeah.."

"Oh das so sad."

"I know.. but he's still with us, right?" Arvilla smiles through her sadness.

"Yeah, mommy!  Dada always wih us!"

"Always!"

Just then Heidi walks in. "Uncle Bobby's here.  You prolly gon go kiss him all over his lips now."

Arvilla laughs. "You're such a mess!"

"No das you."

"Wow!"

"You leabing now?"

"Yeah baby, aunt Margene is going to take me to the doctor, then she wants me to go somewhere with her."

"Where?"

"Some furniture place."

"You gonna buy me a new bed?"

"Well actually we need to buy you and Joe big boy and girl beds since you don't know how to stay in your cribs anymore."

"Yeah!" Both twins laugh.

"Me wan a big girl bed!"

"Yeah n' Joe wan a big boy bed!" Joseph says patting his chest.

"You know what?"

"What?"

"I will buy you a beautiful big girl bed, and Joe I'll buy you a super cool big boy bed IF you use the potty."

"What?!  UGH!  Fine!" Heidi groans.

Arvilla chuckles. "How about you, Joe."

"Sure, mommy." He shrugs.

Arvilla smiles and kisses his chubby cheek.

One hour later.

"Do you want me to go back there with you, Arvilla?"

"No Margene, I do not." Arvilla laughs. "Just wait here for me."

"Just asking!"

Just then the door opens. "Arvilla Holden?"

"I'll be right back."

"Okay.  Tell them you want the best of the best!"

"I will." Arvilla laughs.

Arvilla was examined by her doctor and they discussed her options.

"Is there any chance of pregnancy, Arvilla?"

"Um.. No." Arvilla smiles.

"You don't sound too sure about that." Her doctor chuckles.

"Well I mean.. I'm having sex regularly but.. we're carful."

"Okay!  Well I'll write your prescription but just to be on the safe side I'd like a urine sample."

"Alright."

As Arvilla waited for her doctor she decided to call Robert and check on the twins.

"Hello, beautiful."

"Hey!  How are my little monsters?"

"We're making pizza right now!  Little mini pizzas." Robert chuckles.

"Aww!  I want pizza." Arvilla pouts.

"We'll make you some.  Right guys?  We can make mommy some pizza."

"YEAH!" Heidi shouts.

"I make it special for you, mama!" Joseph says.  Both twins were covered in sauce.

"Aw I hear them!  They're so sweet." Arvilla pouts.

"They sure are.  What are you doing?"

"Waiting for my doctor.  I'm so tired I don't know if I can make it through the furniture store.  But poor Margene is out there waiting for me!" Arvilla chuckles.

"You feel okay?"

"Yeah I'm just so exhausted!"

Just then Joseph spills a bowl of cheese on the ground.  Heidi screams and jumps up and down on her chair, almost falling off.

Robert grabs her by the back of the shirt and stands her up.  Heidi giggles loudly and says, "Tanks Bobby!  I almost falled off!"

"You're welcome, Princes."
Robert then chuckles. "I can't imagine why you'd be tired, Arvy."

Arvilla laughs just as her doctor knocks.

"Oh hang on, honey.  Let me call you back."

"Okay.  Love you."

"I love you too!"

Arvilla hangs up and smiles as her doctor walks in.

"Hi." She says. "So.. I can pick up my prescription when?  And how long til it uh.. kicks in?"

"Well.." Her doctor chuckles.

"Yeah?"

"I can't write you a prescription for the one you wanted, but umm.. well here's what I recommend."

"Okay?" Arvilla gives them a strange look and takes the paper.

"What is this?  I don't need these." She nods and tries handing it back.

"These are prenatal vitamins."

"Yeah but.."

"You're pregnant, Arvilla."

"No!  No, I just asked for birth control.  Not.. not birth."

Her doctor laughed and said, "Congratulations Arvilla."

"Heh!  Thanks.."

Arvilla then grabs her things and walks out.

"Hey!  You got it?" Margene stands.

"Oh I've got something!"

"What?"

Arvilla sighs and hands her the small piece of paper.

"Hm.. I've never heard of this birth control before."

"It's not birth control Margene!" Arvilla raises her voice. "They're prenatal vitamins!"

"Oh.. will that do anything?"

Arvilla groans. "I'm pregnant, Margene!  Pregnant!"

"What?!  But that's not why you're here!"

"Wow.  I'm aware of that, Margene.  But damn Robert!  I said DON'T put a baby in me!  I guess it was already in there when I told him But Still!  He knew better!"

"Arvilla stop."

"I know.  I sound horrible and I'm sorry!  I'm just in shock.  I'm emotional already because it's Joe's anniversary.. and I was not expecting this today.  A baby?!  A baby, Margene!" Arvilla laughs.

"Yours and Robert's baby."

Arvilla covers her mouth as tears form.
"Oh wow.. Bobby's gonna be a daddy." She chuckles.

"Oh Arvilla he's gonna be so excited!"

"He will be.  Oh gosh.." Arvilla takes a deep breath.

"How do you feel?"

"I don't know!" She laughs.

"No I.. I'm excited.  I get to have a baby with Robert!  I'm just a little nervous."

"You were nervous when you found out you were pregnant with the twins, and now look at you!  You handled being a single mom of two awesome little kiddos!"

"Yeah." Arvilla smiles. "And they're gonna be a big brother and sister!  My babies!"

"Isn't that fun!"

"Yeah!  Aw my Joe is gonna be sad though." Arvilla pouts. "He's my baby!  My little baby boy!"

"Aww!  He'll love being a big brother, Arvilla."

"I hope so... Hah!  I have another little baby on the way." Arvilla places her hand on her stomach.

"Ahhh!" Margene laughs and places her hand on her stomach. "I'm aunt Margene!  You're gonna love me SO MUCH!" She says making Margene laugh.

"What do you think about this?  Will this couch look good in my living room?"

"Yeah, it's beautiful.  Margene, look at that crib over there.  I know I have two and Hopefully I only need one this time!  But this one has an elephant on it!" Arvilla smiles.

"That's cute!  What if you need three?" Margene smiles.

"Ha Ha!  Go to hell, Margene."

"I'm home!"

"Hey mommy!" Robert smiles.

"Hi my baby!" Arvilla giggles and kneels down, wrapping her arms around him.

"Mama we playing LEGOS!" Joseph says.

"I see that!  How fun, my handsome boy!"

"How was furniture shopping?" Robert asks.

"It was good." Arvilla says in a soft voice with a cute smile.

"Mama you buy my beautiful big girl bed?"

"Not today, Heidi Ho.  I looked at them though!  I saw a beautiful Princess bed you'd Love."

"Ahhh!" Heidi squeals. "Let's buy it!"

"No you've gotta use the potty first."

"Oh gosh." Heidi rolls her eyes. "Alright, alright."

Arvilla laughs.

"Oh babe!  Did you get the good stuff?"

Arvilla laughs and hugs him tighter. "I got the goods, baby."

"Awesome!
  Arv, you're so cuddly today, I love it."

"Yeah well.. I kinda like you."

"Oh good!  I was hoping cause.. I kinda like.. really really love you."

"I didn't say Love!"

"You butt!"

"I'm kidding!  I love you so much." Arvilla giggles and kisses his lips.

"My gosh!  Stop kissing and kissing and KISSING!" Heidi shouts.

Arvilla laughs.

"I told you she was the perfect form of birth control, didn't I?" Robert says.

"Hah!  Well... alright.  Yeah, I guess." She giggles.
