Chapter 5

Next day at lunch~

Jin's POV~

I was walking to the cafeteria while trying to keep a low profile so Soo Min hyung doesn't try to harass me again. But it was kinda hard to do since all the students kept staring at me in disgust.

"Is that the kid who's mom committed suicide?"

"That's what Soo Min and his friends said..."

"What might have been the reason she would do such a thing?"

"I've heard it's because what's-his-face became to much maintenance. She could not have provided food for two people maybe?"

"How unfortunate, he's pretty cute. I was gonna ask him out but now I don't want anything to do with him. He killed his own mother!"

He killed his own mother!

Wow, I never truly found out the reason of why she left the world but I never thought that I'd be framed for killing her. What I also don't understand was why Soo Min hyung decided to tell people I did so. If I wasn't a nice person, I'd have seriously done something to Soo Min hyung.

As I was walking down to sit at a table, everyone quickly moved away. Who would want to sit at the table with a 'killer.' I buried my face in my hands not wanting to look up at my horrendous life.

"J-Jin?" I thought my mind was playing tricks on myself but I was a bit surprised when the person who called my name ruffled my hair in a caring way. I looked up to see Savannah blushing very hard.

"Ohh, hi Savannah... not to sound rude but why are you here? Wouldn't you rather be with somebody else?"

"No, not really." I noticed her getting a little flustered.

"I just wanted to apologize."

"But you've done nothing wrong. Well to me at least."

"I meant about running away. I shouldn't have done that, I really wanted to stand up for you but I didn't have the courage." She started down at her hands as I noticed how pretty she looked at the moment. Savannah is the last person I'd ever want an apology from or the last person I'd ever want to see unhappy.

"That is definitely not something you should say sorry for, it's not your fault. You can't help it if you can't do something. But I- I understand if you wish pretend as if you don't know me." I somehow choked the words out of my mouth as tears brimmed in my eyes. I thought about how I wanted her to stay away from me for her own safety as I anxiously waited for her to answer.

"Why would I? As you told me yourself, it's not your fault. Just because your getting bullied does not mean people can't befriend you." My eyes grew wide as nobody has ever said that to me.

"But haven't you heard all the rumors about me? Everybody hates me now."

"I have heard them and mentally lit many people on fire because of it. I didn't believe it for a second. Not a single part of it, you might have had a troubled past but even though I only just met you, I know that you would not kill your own mother. She did what she did because of her own reasons. I'm completely sure that you did not personally do anything that caused her death."

I stared in awe as she kept trying to prove to me that I was innocent. I mean I knew that in the first place but the entire school didn't. I barely spoke to her at the moment and yet she has so much faith in me.

Woah, is this a real human being or did god send me an angle? I looked at her and studied her beautiful features.

"Jin?" Savannah sweetly called my name as I realized that I'd stared at her to long. I hope I didn't creep her out.

"Huh? Ohh sorry." I replied as I felt my cheeks grow hot. Then when I started to drink the milk I bought, Soo Min approaches me with a smirk I immediately recognized. He normally did that when he was about to do something that would either A : hurt me or B : make me want to kill myself.

"Hey little bro, YOU NEED SOME MILK!" He screamed and  poured the milk on my head along with some crushed up small pieces of cookies. I felt the milk drip down into my shirt as everyone laughed helplessly. Savannah had disgust written all over her face. But in her eyes I could see something else. Could it be despair?

When Soo Min left, I was still in a daze wondering about what Savannah was thinking at the time I was rudely splashed with my own milk I had paid for. Aish, how hard is it to just drink something in peace?!?

I didn't even notice that Savannah got up from the other side of the table and stood beside me until she used a hanky to wipe the staines on my face and shirt. When I gave her a shy smile she her cheeks turned as red as a tomato. I chuckled at her actions and at the fact that I've finally found a friend. I just hope she doesn't get to scared and decide to leave me. There are many voices in my head at this point. Some say it would be the best if she left. Others want to hold on to her for the rest of my life. I really hate being alone and now that I'm with her I don't want to go through that again.

A/N ~ Hello my good people, it took a while to write this because I had to study for a test and I'm anxiously waiting for the results and I had to practice something for my elective (drama.) Ugh I swear is subjects were alive math would have murdered me by now... -_- anyways... Till next time.
