I hurried through the school’s halls to first period. I felt myself running into someone and fell to the ground with a slight yelp. “Oh man! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” they said and got down to help me pick up my stuff.

It was a boy who look around 13 or so, but since we were in high school, obviously had to be older. His eyes made him look even younger. He was small and skinny wearing black skinny jeans, a white shirt, and a plaid shirt over it. He had messy black hair and chocolate eyes. He handed me my books. “Sorry!” he said again.

“It’s alright. I wasn’t watching where I was going,” I said, blushing lightly. He helped me up. “I’m Sonny.” “Sam.” I shook his hand and we awkwardly walked the same way.

“Sonny! There you are,” Eli’s voice called. We both spun. Oh my god! Eli’s eye was black and he was wheezing. “Oh, hi Eli,” Sonny said shyly.

“I see you’ve met my new friend Sam,” he said with a wink. “What happened to your eye?” I asked him and then blushed deep red. Crap. That was really rude. He laughed and then winced and gently rubbed his chest. “Got in a fight,” he said with a slight shrug.

“You got hit in the chest?” I asked in surprise. He nodded. “Yea. Kind of sucks.” Oh yea. His shirt had been torn off. “Come on Sonny. Let’s allow Sam to get to class,” he said and grinned at me.

Sonny hurried to follow after Eli. He reminded me of a lost puppy. I went into first period.

***Eli’s POV***

“Why were you walking with her?” I demanded. Sonny watched his feet as we walked. “Um, I, uh, ran into her and, uh, we were both walking the same way?” Ah. Poor little Sonny. Sonny Henry Young. SHY. Just a lost, abused little thing.

Speaking of abuse, my chest hurt like a bitch.

I coughed and winced at the agony it brought about. I was fairly sure I had a fractured rib that was fucking up my breathing. My chest was violently bruised different shades of disturbing colors.

My stomach growled and I mentally sighed. I was so damn hungry. “What did you two talk about?” I asked. Sonny wasn’t much of a talker. But maybe Sam had mentioned me to him?

Sonny shook his head. “Nothing. We didn’t talk. I just, uh, apologized for knocking her down.” “Oh.” Well that wasn’t very helpful. Damn.

Davey appeared next to Sonny, squishing him between us. “Hello Sonny,” he growled roughly. “H-Hi Davey,” Sonny stuttered nervously. I choked back laughter. “You’re in my spot. I always stand next to Eli,” Davey hissed. He was such a bastard. No wonder he was my best friend.

Sonny began to scamper away from us. “Come back!” I said. Davey grabbed the back of Sonny’s shirt and dragged him back. He got right up in Sonny’s face. “Listen to Eli you piece of shit,” he growled before releasing him. I swear Sonny was about to piss his pants in fear.

Sonny turned to me quickly. “Yes?” he squeaked. “Tell me if she mentions me,” I said and he nodded. “Now you can go. Unless Davey has something to add.” Sonny nervously looked at Davey. “Out of my sight,” Davey snapped. “Now.”

Sonny basically sprinted away.

I laughed and winced yet again. Davey’s kept walking. “Kicked?” he guessed. I nodded. “Yea. Hard.” “You deserve it you bitch,” he said and shoved some random freshman girl out of the way.

“Hey!” she said angrily. I rolled my eyes. Stupid freshman. I slammed her up against a locker. “Got a problem whore?” I growled. She shook her head in fear.” N-No,” she stuttered. I glared at her but released her and caught up to Davey.

“So you tried to fuck Sam?” I asked. He nodded. “Yea. Fucking Brad has to ruin everything.” I nodded and a grin spread on my face. “Looks like we might have to take out little Brad if we want to get that new girl.”

Davey nodded. “Let’s do this shit.”

***Sam’s POV***

Quinn and I giggled at lunch as we talked and ate. “It was the funniest thing ever!” she said and we giggled again.

“FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!”

We looked at each other before curiously wandering into the halls. There was a large crowd gathered. We shoved through to see who was fighting. Oh gosh!

Eli and Brad!
