Seto wheezed and shot up, only grunting when his forehead hit cold metal above. He caught his breath and looked around. He was in a very tight metal... Box. He gagged at the stench. It smelled of blood and decaying matter. Seto widened his eyes in realization. It was blood and decaying human bodies...
He was in the morgue!
He pressed his fingers on the low ceiling and pushed himself out. He continued until his tray was pulled all the way out. He shot up and staggered off of it. He raised an eyebrow.
He was certainly not dead. Why was he in there?
He frowned.
Martin's pranks are getting morbid.
He felt someone tap his shoulder. He turned and saw Herobrine, smiling weakly at him. Seto noticed that there were fresh scars on Herobrine's neck. He was also weirded out by the content smile Herobrine had. Whenever he looked at the man, he had this hardened look on his face. Now, however, he looked like a content puppy. Or perhaps a cat.
There were also gloves on him. Seto does not remember him wearing any. Herobrine pressed a finger to his lips and instructed him to be quiet. Seto obeyed and watched as Herobrine pull out more morgue trays.
Holy shit, there were other living, breathing people.
He pulled out Ty, Kyle, Tyler, Bash and Mitch.
They were all alive with torn and bloody clothing. They were just as confused as Seto was.
Herobrine gathered them and ordered, "The army thinks we were dead. Technically, we were-"
Everyone started freaking out. Seto's analytical brain immediately started asking questions like how? Why? Where? When? Ty looked extremely confused, and was running his hands over his ruffled hair, as if he was searching for something.
"Hush! We were but... I can pull a few strings. Let's just walk right into the dining hall. If anyone questions us, tell them what I told you."
Seto frowned and asked, "Do you actually know how to bring people back to life?"
Herobrine grinned but did not respond. His grin was more forced and sharp, urging everyone to cooperate or else. Everyone agreed albeit a little reluctantly and Herobrine led them all out. The hallway was empty so they took their time to fix their uniforms. Herobrine fussed over his hair. He took a deep breath and stepped in the dining hall.
All the noises stopped and the surviving soldiers turned with appalled looks. Seto made eye contact with a teary eyed Brice, who was slowly starting to grin widely.
Jerome pushed through the crowed and ran to Mitch. He engulfed the Canadian in a brotherly hug before pulling away and muttering, "I thought you were all dead..."
He turned to Herobrine.
"Especially you! The commandant carried you to the morgue. Sky was so quiet as he carried your very, very dead body."
Herobrine shrugged, "That's because I was very, very dead. The morgue smells, you know."
With many puzzled and some fascinated looks following him, Herobrine teleported outside Sky's room. He took a deep breath and slowly entered the room. Sky was standing on the balcony, watching as night took over the country. He did not turn around. He was just staring.
Herobrine awkwardly adjusted his bearings before whispering, "Adam? Turn around, please."
Sky's golden eyes grew more brighter as he heard that familiar voice. He turned and stared at him. He was standing there, alive and about. Herobrine gave a small smile and spread his arms awkwardly. Sky ignored the questions exploding in his head and ran for his friend. He wrapped his arms around the brunet and buried his nose in his hair, fighting the urge to cry. Herobrine grunted in the tight hug and rubbed Sky's back uncomfortably.
Yeah, Herobrine could throw Sky into the sun in a heartbeat but he still was extremely small compared to Sky.
Sky murmured, "I thought I would never be able to learn from you ever again..."
Herobrine scoffed and whispered gently, "Well, be happy that I'm here now."
Sky did not even pull away when someone stormed in. Jason had Ty behind him and he turned red when he saw the scene there. Jason turned around and cleared his throat, saying, "Um... Sir?"
Sky pulled away and smiled at Ty, who returned it. Herobrine crawled from under Sky's arms and stood aside.
Jason reported, "Someone important wants to see you. Now."
Sky raised an eyebrow and questioned, "Who?"
Jason sighed and replied hoarsely, "King Bergensten, his highness, along with a few Royal Military soldiers."
Sky turned to Herobrine, who did not make a move. His white eyes seem to be in a daze.
-
Soldiers looking up to him in fear and respect. Standing beside King Jeb's throne in full Royal Military uniform, watching everyone who approached them. His loyal cat purring while stretched out at his feet with a diamond embedded collar. Marching down the streets with civilians staring at awe. The royal flag flying high as he held it in the air.
Herobrine snapped out of the future vision and realized that Sky was staring at him with worry.
He coughed awkwardly and asked, "What? Did something happen?"
Jason answered, "King Jeb Bergensten's requesting Sky."
Herobrine nodded calmly. He looked away and waited for Sky's shocked response. Something told him that Sky would snap in anger. As always, he was right.
"Y-You're wanted! Go and hide somewhere! If he sees you, you'll be executed."
Herobrine remained his calm demeanor and simply said, "Something tells me to scope things out, which I will."
He relaxed, and said more softly, "Adam, everything will be okay. I promise."
Sky shook his head in disagreement and stormed out, following Jason and Ty. Herobrine maintained distance but followed them to the dining hall. Soldiers stood at the side, hands behind their back and their gazes fixed on the royalty in the room.
Sky spotted King Jeb and a few Royal Military soldiers stationed at either side of him. Herobrine stayed at the hallway and watched from the dark.
Sky bowed in respect and raised his head, "You wanted to see me, your highness?"
King Jeb gave a curt nod and said, "Yes, I need to ask for a favor."
Sky gulped and prayed his charm stayed up to shield the glow from his eyes. "Anything, your highness."
Lord Jeb said, "I have been... Looking for someone. He is of upmost importance. Your military is in charge of the Southern Region of Minecraftia. Whenever your soldiers are out to their duties, they need to look out for this man."
Sky nodded. Lord Jeb continued, "I'm sure you have learned about the killings a few years-"
He stopped talking as he watched someone descend from the stairs. Sky turned and gasped. Herobrine, the fucking bastard, casually just walked down the stairs, skipping three steps at a time and jumped the last five steps. His clothes were still ragged and bloody, and his hands were folded behind his back. His stance was perfect, reminding everyone that he was the first ever general of Minecraftia's military.
He bowed before stalking towards the king, the Royal Military soldiers springing forward with their spears ready. They glared at Herobrine, who raised his two gloved hands in defense and said coolly, "I come in peace, your highness. Please calm your sloths down."
The Royal Military soldiers grew more angrier. One shot out, snarling as he attempted to stab Herobrine. Herobrine, however, easily teleported back and forth and pulled the spear out of the guard's grip. He smirked and hissed, "Trust me, cadet. You don't want to mess with me."
He tossed the spear back to the guard, who stood there in fear with shivering legs. He put his hands up and waited for the king to arrest him. Sky was trying not to loose control of himself, torn between respecting the king and saving his friends. King Jeb gave a silent command to his guards to yield. He reached under his robes and pulled out a scroll. He gave it to Herobrine, who accepted it reluctantly.
After he read it, he raised his head, eyes wide. King Jeb smiled and held a hand out, "I look forward to you training my sloths."
He stopped and said, "Welcome back, Hero. We've been waiting forever."
The Royal Military soldiers stared at him in disbelief. Herobrine grinned and shook his hand. He pulled away and said, "Let me... Clean up first. I'm kind of bloody here."
King Jeb laughed, "Busy day, huh?"
Herobrine laughed and looked at Sky, "Yes. A really busy day."
-
Herobrine teleported himself back to the morgue. He checked every body tray until he found the Shifter. He quickly placed privacy charms over the morgue and got to work. Pulling out the surprisingly light body, he summoned a book into his hands. Carefully flipping through with a bit of magic, he found the page. He raided the extremely old and rare book from Seto's shared bunk with Brice. He totally ignored how there was only one bed that was perfect for two.
Seto has mentioned having an extensive collection of rare (and sometimes illegal) books from his rich family inheritance. Totally with consent, Herobrine 'borrowed' Seto's book of illegal and sacred spells and rituals. If you use any of these spells, the Council of Magic would track your magic down and arrest you. Herobrine already had a shit ton on his shoulders, so he thought, why not one more completely harmless crime.
The spell he was looking for was power extraction. It was a soul-based spell, extremely illegal, and it helped the caster absorb and keep the powers of their victim. Thumbing his fingers along the instructions, he slowly started to follow them. Soul-based spells apparently were difficult, and Herobrine could feel his magic reaching its peak as he casted the spell. The tingling sensation of magic on his fingertips turned into a burn but Herobrine pulled through.
He hovered his free hand over the shifter's heart, and focused. He said the spell silently in his head, and summoned all that he could into this spell. The effect took place immediately. He watched as green murky looking mist seeped through the leech's chest. It cascaded into a wave that swirled the room. Before things got out of hand, Herobrine held his hand towards it and the mist shot right through his fingers and into his arm. He bit his lip in pain as the green mist settled into his core, locking him and the Shifter's power together till the end of time.
Herobrine was panting heavily at the end, and he looked down at Shifter's body. Snarling, he slowly set fire to the Shifter's feet, and pushed the tray back in. He placed several charms to keep the fire in the box, and started to clean himself up as the Shifter burned.
