Chapter 3

Not even thinking about it, Tony took the suit from Peter and ignored him completely. He was pissed off at Peter, blaming him for hurting Luci. He wanted Luci to be happy again.

She was depressed and nothing seemed to be working to cheer her up. When she went to school, she wasn't as peppy and happy as she normally was. She was quieter, sitting with the popular kids instead of with Peter at lunch, working alone on her work instead of being partners with Peter for everything.

She faked being happy at school but it broke her even more every time she looked over at Peter. Seeing him so happy with his other friends, unphased by the fact that Luci wasn't there anymore, it killed her. He was so happy without her while she was dying inside.

She constantly asked herself if she ever meant anything to Peter because he was unaffected by her no longer being his friend.

Lucinda had lost her bestfriend, the first friend she ever had, and the person that meant the most to her other than her family. She had told Peter basically everything and they did everything together but now it was all gone.

Homecoming was awful...

She didn't know that Peter had left the dance but he was going with Liz and that killed her inside. She left as soon as she saw Peter walking over to Liz.

She imagined Liz dancing in Peter's arms and kissing him as they held each other. She wanted that so badly but she had given up on her dreams.

Ned and Michelle avoided her as well now... she had lost everyone and all she had wanted was Peter...

🕷

Peter wanted his suit back and he had an idea. He wasn't a fan of this plan but it had to work.

'If I make Lucinda happy again, Tony will give me my suit back! I have to go out with her to get my suit back!'

He didn't fully think this plan through before dashing to find Lucinda who was about to leave school. He stopped her with a hug.

"Hey, Luci," Peter said and Luci tensed up.

"P-Peter?" She was confused but didn't want him to let go of her.

"Lucinda... I'm really sorry for how I spoke to you and I realized that I was too harsh and I should've just given you chance."

He hated lying but he needed his suit back from Tony and this was the only way he could think of to get it back.

"So, dinner at the Water Lily? Five o'clock? I promise I'll come. I'll pick you up too, well I'll have Aunt May drive us. I'm gonna a chance. We can test the waters for a bit," Peter smiled at her and she nodded, only giving a small smile.

Sure, she was so happy, but she didn't know if she could trust this.

"Y-you aren't lying to me are you?" Luci asked and Peter felt conflicted.

'I can't tell her I'm lying! I know I've been a douche bag lately and I feel bad but I don't want to date her! Ugh! I have to get my suit back though! I hate myself right now...' He thought to himself and he looked her in the eyes.

"I promise you Lucinda. We aren't going to be dating, just trying it out. But maybe we can be more one day," He said and she pecked his cheek. He felt his cheeks heat up but he didn't know why, he didn't like her like that, why was he blushing?

"Okay, I'll see you at five," Luci said before she left and went home with a smile.

No one at the tower had seen Luci smile for months so it was a surprise. "Code Pink!" Luci announced to them when they swarmed her after they saw her smile.

They all gasped. "Who is it?!" Natasha asked and Luci looked at them all.

"Peter Parker."

Tony's face went stern.

"He is gonna stand you up again, Lucinda!" He didn't want her to be hurt.

"He promised and he is picking me up at five." Luci said and Tony sighed before letting Natasha and Wanda drag Luci off to to get ready even though it would be hours till Peter would be there.

🕷

"May! I need your help!" Peter ran into his house and dropped his stuff off into his room before he raced to see May in her bed reading.

"What is it Peter?" May asked as she looked up.

"I have a date with Lucinda and I need you to give me a ride to pick her up so we can go to the Water Lily," Peter explained May gasped as she shot up out of her bed.

"You need to get ready! Get a nice pair of clothes! Fix your hair! And I will help you with getting flowers and a box of chocolates!" May was clearly excited since this was Peter's first date. Sure he had gone to Homecoming with Liz but that went nowhere and they never technically dated.

"Thank you so much, May!" Peter got ready as May helped him with everything she could.

'Why didn't I think this through... there are better ways to go about this... well, there's no going back now without hurting her even more,' Peter thought to himself with a sigh.

Peter felt something in his heart telling him that he shouldn't be using Lucinda like this but he had to. He needed his suit back. This had to work. He tried to stop thinking about it to make it easier... but there was a small part of him that he had pushed down was super excited about going on a date with Luci.

🕷

Luci was waiting outside and Peter was a few minutes early which made her smile.

She got into the back seat with Peter and smiled at him. She giggled when his mouth dropped open.

'Holy Stark! She looks hot! And I'm going on a date with her! No... Peter, you are going on a fake date... you want Liz. Lucinda isn't your friend anymore. This is only to get your suit back.' Peter shook his head very slightly and cleared his throat.

"Y-you look beautiful Lucinda." Peter complimented and May spluttered.

"Beautiful?! Peter! She looks hot!" May burst out and Lucinda started to laugh.

'I miss her melodious laugh... her angelic voice... her goddess like smile... supermodel body... I miss her... no! Peter! Stop it!'

Peter was so conflicted because deep down he did want Lucinda but he had convinced himself that he wanted Liz. Being around Lucinda confused him, his heart screaming to be with her but his mind wanted Liz so he just couldn't be friends with Luci anymore because he needed to get his heart focused on Liz like his mind was but seeing Lucinda like this, he missed everything about her and suddenly wished he had said yes to every time she asked him out, though he scolded himself for thinking that.

Luci missed being around Peter, hearing his laugh, seeing him smile, watching him help others as Spiderman. She was excited because all she had wanted was to be with him and she believed it was finally happening.
