Lily POV

It's like this whole week has just been a dream. Except, all at once, it turned into a nightmare.

Lily and James,

Please come up to my office immediately. Show this note to your professor, and ask to be excused.

Thank you, Professor Dumbledore.

"James." I whispered, passing him the note. I saw his eyes scan the note.

"Okay, let's go." He grabbed my hand and we walked to the front of the class "Professor? May we be excused?" He passed him the note.

"Yes you may be excused." We walked out of class.

"I wonder what this is all about?" James asks me as we speed walk to Dumbledore's office.

"I don't know. I hope we're not in trouble."

"Me neither." We reach Dumbledore's office.

"Ah! I'm glad you two have come! We have two new students attending hogwarts in your year. Being head boy and girl, I expect you will help them- as well as the prefects. This is Ophelia, she has already be sorted into gryffindor. Vanessa has been sorted into slytherin. Now, James, I would like you to give Vanessa her timetable and escort her to the slytherin common room. Lily, if you would do the same for Ophelia."

"Yes, Professor." Me and James both said at the same time. I let go of James' hand and smiled at Ophelia. We walked off.

"So have you had a transfer?" I ask her, making conversation.

"Yes from Beauxbatons Academy, but I was originally from England." She said.

"That would explain why your insanely pretty!" I said. And I wasn't lying. She had long, black wavy hair and little dimples.

"Thank you! Your really pretty too! And I'm guessing the head boy is your boyfriend? Since you were holding hands and everything."

"Yeah he his. He's great." I smile. "Here we are. You can have my spot in my room, we have head rooms but we never used them. The girls are so nice in there, you'll love it."

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. We can be friends?" She asked, she is so nice!

"Of course! I'll show you to your classes and things. The castle is big so you might get lost." I scan her timetable over with my eyes "Oh great! Your timetable is the same as mine! I can definitely help you!"

"Oh thank you! You're so nice! All of the girls at Beauxbatons were never as nice."

"It's okay, I'll see you later then? I have to go and find James, sorry. Feel free to explore the common room, the girls dorms are on the left side and your room is the third one on the right."

"Thank you. I'll see you around?" She asks.

"Definitely." I laugh, going to find James.

James POV

"So are you from Beauxbatons?" I ask her, she seems a little tense.

"I am, thank you for asking. My dad got a job here in England." She says.

"Oh great! What job?" I wonder if he works at the ministry.

"None of your business noesy!" She laughs, making me even more suspicious.

"So here is the common room! And your timetable." I hand her the timetable and she smirks at me.

"You know, your really cute. We should go out some time."

"What? No! If you haven't noticed, I have a girlfriend." I fold my arms crossly.

"Well we can change that can't we."

Lily POV

Oh. My. God. James is KISSING ANOTHER GIRL. Relax, it's just some sort of nightmare in your head. But it's not. My heart is pounding and I start to breath really loudly: I am going to cry. James struggles and pulls away.

"LILY! I swear this is not what it looks like." He says. A full blown stream of tears are silently rushing down my cheeks.

"You know what, forget it. Forget this. Forget us. I thought you had changed." I run off, completely heart shattered.

James POV

Why the hell did she kiss me?!

"You know what, forget it. Forget this. Forget us. I thought you had changed." And she ran off, crying. It's over- thanks to this new girl. I slam her up against the wall.

"If you ever do ANYTHING like that, ever again. You don't even know what consequences there will be in store for you. 'Cause there is quite a lot now." I storm off, and I find myself crying.

I run through the common room as quickly as I possibly can and slam the dormitory door. I fall onto my bed, absolutely sobbing my heart out. I've done it. She will never, ever speak to me again. I finally got the girl I have been waiting for, for the past 6 years. And I lost her, to some new girl.

Ophelia POV

After I explore the common room, and a small part of the castle, I decide to check out the dorm. I mean, it can't be that bad! I walk in, to find my new friend Lily, on her bed, crying her eyes out.

"Is everything okay?" I ask, I go and sit on her bed and place my hand on her leg. Even if we have only just met, I still need to be a friend to her. She shook her head.

"You don't have to tell me what's wrong, if you don't want to of course." I look at her solemnly.

"J-j-James k-kissed that n-new g-g-girl." She could barely get the words out she was sobbing so much.

"Vanessa?" She nodded "Vanessa. Is one of the most cold hearted people you will ever meet. And don't get me wrong, I like pretty much everyone, but Vanessa is pretty much pure evil. I don't think it would have been his fault." I reassure her, I spoke the truth.

"I'm so sorry, for this. I doubt trying to calm down a new friend after a breakup wasn't exactly your ideal first day at hogwarts." She weakly smiles.

"It's okay. You can't help it. Would you like me to talk to James for you? He hardly knows me so he might tell me more?" I offer. I don't want my new friend sad.

"That would be great. Thank you so much." She sighs, and she leans over and hugs me, I hug her back.

I walk back down to the common room and I can't seem to see James. I briefly got a look of him in Dumbledore's office but apart from that, I don't know anyone in this room. I walk over to a boy with brownish hair.

"Hi, I'm new here and I was looking for James?" I ask him.

"James Potter?" He asks, I don't actually know.

"I don't know, I just know his first name." I say.

"Oh then he's up in his dorm, he was quite sad. I'm Remus, by the way."

"Ophelia. Nice to meet you Remus. So please may you take me up to James?" We shake hands after the introduction and he gets up.

"Of course. So if you don't mind me asking, why would you like to talk to James?" He asks me, as we walk up a flight of stairs.

"Something went on with Lily? Lily Evans? Do you know her?"

"She's my best friend." He laughs.

"Well, I chose the right person to ask about this then, didn't I?" We get outside a door.

"He's in here. It was nice meeting you, Ophelia. I'll see you around." He smiles.

"You too. Thank you for the help!"

"My pleasure." We smile at each other and he walks off.

I softly knock on the door "Is this James? Head boy?"

I can hear sniffles inside the room "Uh, yeah come in." I open the door and enter.

Well that went downhill fast.

Hiyaa. Do you like my new characters Ophelia and Vanessa? I can bet your guessing what they are already going to be.
