Chapter 1
♡Kyandi's Pov☆
I let a sigh escape my lips as I walked along the wet sidewalk. I looked forward to only see that I was now engulfed in thick grey fog.
"You decided to come back?" He said, his voice dripping with venom.
"I had no choice... you were right.." I replied my head hung low with shame.
"I told you," he snarled. "Nobody could ever love you." The voice that had once sang me to sleep now taunted me.
"Now," he stepped forward through the fog revealing his sandy blonde hair and dull green eyes. "You must fulfill your part of the bet."
"D-do I have to?" I asked. I was so determined I'd be right when I made the bet, that I didn't think about the consequences if I lost.
"Yes!" He growled. "We made a deal!"
His scowl then turned to a sickening smile. He held up his sythe to strike me. I shut my eyes tight and prepared for the pain.
Then I awoke.
I sat straight up panting. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to my surroundings but I soon realized I was in my room.
That terrible scene from years ago had played out in my dreams many times but never this vividly.
I grabbed my phone to check the time. My Sailor Moon charm jingled as I did so. It was three in the morning. I knew there was no going back to sleep after that dream. Or should I say nightmare.
I stood up and rushed to the light switch and switched them on. It illumanted my pastel room.
I silently crept out of my room and snatched my light pink sweater from a chair and opened the back door. I live in a cabin in the middle of the woods to avoid human interaction. The only person I ever see is my older sister.
I looked up at the large full moon in the sky. It illuminated mostly everything from the trees to the small white rabbit running into its home. I walked through the trees barley any light made it through the canopy above. I heard a twig snap somewhere near me.
"Who's there?" I called into the silent night.
'Snap snap' two more twigs. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"You know that's how people get killed in horror movies right?" I heard a feminine voice laced with sarcasm. "They say it as if the killer is going to respond, revealing the killers hiding place. It's harder to kill someone if they know where you are."
My silk night gown brushed against my pale legs. "Well I guess the killer just revealed her hiding spot." I said turning around.
