Chapter 2: Explosions

Since the second you walked into the class and took your seat, you couldn't help but to feel watched from all directions, yet everyone's heads remained fixed on the teacher. Lousy teacher by the way. He were a man dressed not so professional, baggy black clothing and worn out combat boots that were grey, even though they used to be black as the night sky. To be honest, it looked as if the man was a homeless pothead, half lidded bloodshot eyes. Not to forget his pasty white skin, slouched posture and very unkempt facial hair with long flowing black hair. Yeah, you knew who he was. Eraser Head. His quirk was named Erasure, to cancel out other quirks as long as he had direct eye contact. You've met him a few times over the years since your father had connections. So far... It sounded like the teacher was your only friend.

"Despite our little interruption," Aizawa sighed, shooting you a half lived glare. "You all are going to show me your quirks out on the field cause I have prepared a series of tests. Fail them... And I'll kick you out of my class," everyone gasped, some jumped from their seats in a panic or spat madness. Then there was you, frozen in thought...

I didn't even pass the Entrance Exam! I was accepted because I got a Recommendation from another Pro Hero, just one. There's no way I can pass Aizawa's tests. Wait... If I got accepted because one Pro Hero wanted me here, was it because of EraserHead? Maybe I do have some hope after all.

"Go change into your school provided gym uniforms and meet up with me out on the field in the school grounds," instantly, your teacher yawned. He curled up within a large puffy sleeping bag like a caterpillar rolled out upon the floor behind his desk. It left everyone in a state of shock.

Your classmates stood up from their desks one by one, filing out of the room to the locker rooms. "I came here to be a hero. Not to be teached by a loser," Bakugo spoke out against Mr. Aizawa. You debated on whether to comment back saying you agreed completely. In the end, deciding that it'd be the wise decision to keep your mouth shut and let the classmates come to you. After all, that's how you've lived life until now. Someone's bound to talk to you eventually... Right?

You finally stood up from your desk, careful to push in your seat without a noise to be made. The boy in front of you had the same idea and got up there after. The blonde spun on his heel, facing you head on. "How the hell did you get accepted here?" Bakugo growled.

"W-what?" You stuttered backing away by a few steps.

"That's why!" Bakugo motioned towards you. "Coming in late on the first day, stuttering at the beginning of each sentence, I can tell you don't want to become a hero," you choked Aizawa heard the commotion, popping his head out from behind his desk.

"T-that's not true," you whimpered. "I was late because I had no ride to school. And I don't stutter all the time..." You sighed, gazing down at the floor like an instinct.

"Well... Why do you want to become a hero?" Bakugo hunched over forcing you to look at him. He saw right through you, how you were gazing at the floor to avoid eye contact.

"I-I'm..." You had to stop and think... No answers. "I'm not so sure anymore..."

"Wow..." Bakugo scrunched up his nose with disgust and bared his teeth. "You should really get your shit together," Bakugo turned away without another word.

"Oh yeah? I'll be a better hero than you'll ever be..." Bakugo ignored you. Just for your heart to sink and a tear to burn at the corner of your eye. Aizawa stepped up from his desk, realizing what he's now responsible for.

"Don't get yourself all worked up over Bakugo (Y/n)," the Teacher stepped before you while you wiped away your tears. "Bakugo did bring up some valid points though..." Aizawa sighed, resting a hand on your shoulder. "Why do you want to become a hero (Y/n)?" Silence. "You don't have to tell me, but all hero's have ambition..."

"Friends..." You finally spoke up. "Maybe a dad who cares..."

"So that's the problem," Aizawa finally understood your problems. "I'm sure you'll make friends, just give it time."

"Yeah..." You sighed.

"Now go get changed (Y/n)."

"Sure," you took your leave. You followed the corridor, reaching the girls locker room where some of your classmates were changing into their gym uniform. It took a few seconds to realize you were the last one to show up and change. There was a feeling of pure awkwardness. You knew nearly nobody here. Now you're changing around them...

"I need to man up..." You found yourself growling with irritation. And opening up your locker, grabbing your uniform and getting dressed. Becoming even more irritated because it was too form fitting for your interest.

"It feels like my boobs are being flattened down," you whined with a small hiss of pain. While unzipping the jacket just slightly, leaving it to be half zipped for immediate relief. Thankful to be able to breath again. Then it came to the most awkward thing, being late to meeting up with the class outside just like Mr. Aizawa asked. The physical tests had started the second your slow butt had arrived onto the scene.

Test 1: The 100 Meter Dash

You enjoyed watching your fellow classmates compete, using their unique quirks to get from the start to finish. Some didn't even touch the ground. Some floated, jumped, even slid from one end to another. It came as a surprise when Aizawa had called your name to run alongside Bakugo of all people. You got the impression that he was a competitive type of person the second you spoke to him back in the classroom. You also get the impression that he were a bully as well, Bakugo hadn't a clue how horribly he made you feel.

"You're going down," Bakugo growled, shooting an evil glare in your direction. Bakugo were stretching here and there, specifically his arms in preparation for the sprint. You followed his lead. After a good minute, you both took your places at the starting line. A small mental thought was needed.

My quirk is useless in all instances besides combat! I'm screwed so bad... I mean I have an idea, but it's time consuming.

"Go!" Mr. Aizawa chanted. Bakugo sprang into the air, using that explosion quirk of his to propel his body through the air. You took deep breaths and kicked your feet from the dirt. You and Bakugo were neck and neck, tied even when Aizawa timed you. Your classmates awed and chanted.

"Holy crap that girl can run!" Chanted a blonde boy with a black thunderbolt in his hair.

"Yeah she tied with Kacchan!" A bushy haired boy exclaimed. Meanwhile you couldn't help but to blush. For once nobody were rude to you.

And I haven't even used my quirk!

"Damn it!!!" Bakugo growled. "You know what, I'll beat your ass in the rest of the tests!"

"You more than likely will Bakugo," you admit with a shy grin. "M-My quirk is similar to yours... But yours clearly beats mine."

"Heck yeah it will!" Bakugo chuckled. And after that, were more tests, one after another from how high you could jump, how much hand strength you had, stamina, and then the final test...

How far you could throw.

Aizawa called on Bakugo to go first. Bakugo sucked in all the air he could, pulling his arm back. The next second he snapped his arm forwards while shouting a curse. The ball looked like it went for miles, when really it went about 75 meters. Still extremely far though for a high school student! Until Aizawa mentioned you could use your quirk. Bakugo's ball went flying with one large explosion. The end total... 705 meters!

Then went everyone else, you and this bushy haired freckled boy went last and you sure as hell hoped Aizawa wouldn't call you last. You were the last one to enter the classroom, last to leave the classroom, last to get changed, and last to meet everyone out on the practice field. You sure as hell won't be the last to throw!

"C-can I go next Mr. Aizawa!?" You sputtered out catching everyone by surprise. This was the loudest they've heard you all day.

Aizawa smirked, reseting his magic measuring box to zero. "Be my guest," and the sleepy man stepped off to the side while holding a base ball. You took it into your possession and tossed it lightly into the air to land right back into your palm.

This baseball is heavier than the average baseball... Maybe because Aizawa needs a ball that can withstand against quirks of all kind. I'm surprised Bakugo's explosions didn't rip it to pieces. So that must be the case!

"I'll need a big bubble," You've decided and held out your left hand towards the throwing range. A white liquid seeped from your palm and slowly inflated. The milky ball grew and grew in size till it were about five feet in diameter and let it go. Your bubble floated in midair, amazing nearly everyone in the class.

"Get on with it already!" Bakugo complained. You rolled your eyes, gripping the baseball tight, and chucked it at the bubble.

Please work, please work, please work!!! You pleaded like an echo within your head. The baseball collided with your misty white bubble, caving into it's rubbery surface. Then KABOOM!!! The bubble exploded! The baseball flew in the opposite direction, you couldn't even see it land!

"Wow... 1,512 meters," Aizawa smirked holding up his calculator.

"M-more than Bakugo..." You awed jumping high into the air in a victory dance! Until Bakugo came up to you, snatching you by the collar.

"You kidding me? We have the same quirk!" The blonde growled just inches from your face. You gulped the lump in your throat, forcing your eyes to a close.

"N-no there's more to my quirk than explosions!" You pleaded. "I can also freeze and stun people! Put me down please," you begged and begged. Bakugo sat you back down on the dirt before muttering curses under his breath.

"Midoriya, you're next," claimed the Teacher. That bushy haired teen stepped up to the plate with that same baseball at hand. He looked like he were about to jump out of his skin, sweating more than a pig, eyes full of pure worry. Midoriya pulled back his arm, his finger lit up with brilliant green electricity. The ball shot forwards by one contact point of his index finger and went just shy of where Bakugo's ball landed.

"Where have I seen that quirk before?" You hummed replaying that final match second by second.
