I walked away from the lab, Flowey safe in my hands, and approached the elevator, pressing the button that I needed to go to. I had a laboratory near there, one of the only well-kept secrets I had. I was surprised that none of my roommates had found it by now, given how crafty they all were. I always had a feeling that someone was following me whenever I went to it, but nobody was ever there. Strange...
I got to the CORE view and looked at it for a moment. It was quite a view... it almost called for me. No, no, snap out of it. I don't want to repeat the mistake Dad once made... because there's nobody around to save me if I fall. Yes, my father nearly fell into the CORE when we were younger. Luckily, we were there, and together, our magic was insanely powerful. We caught him with blue magic before he fell in, and we were so petrified it would happen again that we didn't let him go anywhere near the CORE for almost a month.
I turned away from the pretty sight, my back facing the CORE, and summoned my blaster. Ah, my faithful blaster. It was almost like a pet to me, even though it was more of a... magical tool. I patted its head. "Cmon, buddy, you know where I need to go," I told it. It nodded at me, then bowed its head, allowing me to climb on top. I held Flowey carefully as I did, for even if I did excel at blue magic and would be able to catch him swiftly, I wouldn't want to drop him this close to the CORE. He might wake up, and I didn't want that.
My blaster floated calmly off the opposite edge of the CORE view, making me shudder a bit in nervousness, and lowered down, facing the bridge. It stopped right where it needed to, right down to the number. "Thanks, pal," I told it before pressing my gloved hand against a brick-shaped dark red rock on the wall. A secret door opened up next to it, and I hopped inside, Flowey's flowerpot safe in my arms.
I walked through the dark halls of my secret lab, wondering how my roommates would react to it. The children would probably just think it was cool, Alphys, Lady Toriel and Sans would probably all have a heart attack and faint, and Dad... I'm not sure how he would react. He's actually pretty unpredictable. Even Flowey once told me that he could never predict what my father did over multiple timelines. He was a shocker sometimes, that man. A bit crazy, sure, but hey, so was everyone in one way or another.
I reached the room I was looking for. A gargantuan quarantine cell rested in front of me, only separated from me by a magically reinforced glass pane. Off to the right side of the room laid a test-tube-like confinement, just a little taller than me, with a special serum inside — if given a physical sample from a living test subject, it begins to grow... and become... alive. No promising that the creature would be sentient, of course, but that was what I was shooting for with this whole mess.
I set Flowey down on a table, medical bandages and a small scalpel next to him. I took the scalpel and cut a leaf from his body. Green... plant blood(...?) leaked from the hole it left, which I wasn't about to question given all the crazy fucking things that happen to us. I quickly patched it up with bandages and then took the leaf in my hand. Flowey remained asleep. I walked over to the test-tube-looking thing, opened a little vault-trapdoor on the top, and dropped the leaf inside. It already started growing vines of its own, which was definitely impressive. This serum worked fast.
Let's play a game. It's called, "Just how and how soon will I end up screwing up this project?"
