November 1971

It was now November and Jude was so eagerly excited about tomorrow as she will say 'I Do' to Kit as she and the girls were setting up everything up at the church now. They had her bridal shower set up at her house for today and the church was decorated for their reception. They had their rehearsals yesterday and last week to prepare them for tomorrow's event.

Kit was so nervous and excited as he helped the guys earlier with the setup as he could not take his eyes off Jude the whole time as she was like an angel, laughing and conversation with the ladies as they decorated the place so majestically.

The girls were on their way to the salon to get their nails done as they all had an idea of what they liked.

They arrived and were taken to different stations as they got prepped and ready for them to become a bride, maid of honor and bridesmaids.

Jude and Vivien's Nails:

Pepper, Jane and Violet's Nails:

They sat and relaxed a bit as talked a little while longer.

"I can't wait to see your reaction when you get back home." Vivien told Jude.

"What did you girls do when I was out with Mother Claudia this morning?" Jude asked them.

"It's a surprise." Pepper said

"It's always a surprise with you girls." Jude said

"It was their idea." Violet said

"Yours too darling." Jane said

They paid for their nails and they left to go back to Kit and Jude's house.

Vivien parked in the driveway as the girls were eager to see all their friends and people they knew from work or school.

"It's going to be kind of weird getting married tomorrow, you know taking another name than the one you had given at birth?" Vivien questioned Jude as they looked at each other.

"It will be weird, but I'm ready for this. I love him and he loves me, sometimes I wonder why he does, but just think, he stole my heart, so I'm taking his last name." Jude smiled as her and Vivien walked up on the porch.

"You are going to make a beautiful bride tomorrow. Just remember to focus on him and smile." Vivien said as they turned the door knob as they were met with people throwing confetti at them.

Jude was amazed with all the bridal shower decorations as she loved her shower already.

"This is wonderful, but y'all did not need to go through all this trouble just for me." Jude said as they all laughed.

"It was no trouble at all darling, plus we wanted to have a day with you. We love you and you deserve these days of pure bliss." Jane said

"You and Roy need to get married already." Pepper told her.

"Well, we've only been together for seven months." Jane said as she looked at Jude.

"Your time will come darling. Just be patient." Jude said as she read the banner hanging on the wall.

"Very adorable girls." Jude said as they laughed.

"Who's ready for some champagne?" Jane asked

"I believe all of us are ready for some." Vivien said

"Don't drink too much." Violet teased her mom.

"She deserves it sweetheart, now let's have some fun." Jude said as they all laughed.

Jude's Bridal Shower Sash:

Jude walked around to look at what kind of decor the girls decorated her living room, kitchen and table.

A few hours, Jude was having a wonderful time as the girls decided it was time to end the party with presents for Jude.

Vivien was keeping track of who brought what so her and Jude can mail thank you cards after the honeymoon.

Jude looked at everyone and was just happy to see her girl laughing with friends and just having the time of their lives. She knew a lot was going to change after tomorrow, but it was a good thing.

"I'm just happy to have my happily ever after." Jude thought as she smiled as she joined Vivien at the table.

"Don't worry about tomorrow, just think about Kit and the rest of your life together." Vivien said as Jude smiled.

"I'm just nervous is all darling." Jude said as Vivien smiled.

"You'll be great tomorrow." Vivien said as Jude hoped so too.

The rest of the day was everything Jude could dream of.

"Who was your first kiss?" Jane asked Violet as Vivien looked at her.

"Homecoming, last year." Violet said

"Jane's idea of kissing is at Kit's gas station." Pepper said

"Well, mine is in his office." Jude smiled

"There's more than just kissing involved." Vivien said

"Plus, our sex life is wonderful too. That stays between all of us girls." Jude said as they laughed.

"What's your favorite sexual position?" Vivien asked her.

"Missionary." Jude said as she blushed.

"What about you?" Jude asked her.

"Well, for me it was on top, but since Ben and his little whore are together, I never get to have sex with my husband." Vivien said as Jude looked at her.

"Screw him mom, like you need an actual real man in your life that loves you and that will treat us right." Violet said

"Honey, you know you could just move in here with me and Kit. We have enough room, plus the two extra bedrooms. You need to be happy again and I hate seeing my girls anything but happy and cheerful." Jude said as she was talking about all of them.

"It would be fun Violet. Jude is the best cook and it's funny watching Kit trying to fold the laundry." Pepper said

"He's improved since then sweetheart, but yes it is." Jude said as Vivien smiled through the tears.

"Are you sure?" Vivien asked her.

"Yes. Me and Kit talked it over and we want you and Violet to come stay with us until everything simmers down between you and Ben." Jude said

"Okay, well me and the girls can stay here while you and Kit are on your honeymoon." Vivien said

"That will be fine darling, plus y'all each have a key to get in." Jude said

"Thank you Jude, really for everything. I mean my job and all the opportunities you've given me and Violet." Vivien said as she hugged her.

"You're welcome darling." Jude said as Violet hugged her too.

"So, what do you and Kit do for Thanksgiving and Christmas?" Violet asked her.

"Well, Kit's parents come to visit and we have dinner on bot holidays. Christmas is the same, except we exchange gifts and just make new resolutions for the next year." Jude said

"Thanksgiving and Christmas is always special to me too, because we go to my parents house and spend it with them. Ben will probably not be going, but they don't care as long as they get to see me and Violet." Vivien said as Jude smiled.

"Well, I'm hoping for a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas both. I know that will happen, because I'm marrying the sweetest man I know." Jude smiled.

"We're happy for you boss." Pepper said as she loved Jude like a mother and her boss.

"And I love my girls." Jude said as she hugged them all.

"We love you too Jude." All the girls said as they just enjoyed being in each others company.

They played games and had a great night, but now it was time for them to rest as they went upstairs to shower and go to bed.

Jude was the last one to bathe because she knew it was needed after sweating through getting everything perfect for tomorrow as she thought of Kit and what he was doing right now.

She laid there in the bathtub, with her hair already shampooed and conditioned and washed out as she applied her face mask and washed her body, wishing Kit was right there with her. He always washed her hair, her body and her back. He made her feel special in so many ways as she shaved her legs, pits, and womanhood. She wanted to be beyond perfect for him tomorrow night as she hoped this time she would not have to feel like she did the night Casey left her after he misdiagnosis with syphilis (a disease that causes infertility when someone contracts a sexual disease). She wanted to be a wife and a mother.

She knew she was born to be a mother as she felt her yearn for a child. Her and Kit talked about getting pregnant on their honeymoon as she thought it would be a great time for bearing a child, she already knew what they wanted to name her children, if she was to have a son, she wanted to name him Josiah Thomas out of the bible and after Kit and Kennedy Ruth after her great-grandmother and both their middle names. She just wanted to be happy and loved now.

She got out and drained her bath water as she wrapped her robe around her and a towel around her hair as she heard her phone ring.

"Who could be calling this late at night?" Jude asked herself as she picked up the phone.

"Hello?" Jude asked nervously.

"Hey darling." It was Kit as she smiled.

"Hi sweetheart." Jude said as she sat with her back up against the headboard.

"What are you doing right now?" Kit asked her.

"Well, I just got out of the bath and getting ready for bed. What about you?" Jude asked him.

"Well, I just got done showering and I just wanted to hear you talk. Roy has been teasing me all day about the way your Southern lilt was too much for me." Kit said as Jude suppressed a smile.

"Hmm... I don't think it does." Jude said

"I think your voice is beautiful, especially when were alone." Kit said

"We will be tomorrow night, so be prepared." Jude told him.

"I'm ready for tomorrow, because I get to marry the most beautiful woman in Boston and the whole entire world." Kit said as Jude felt her heart flutter.

"You know how to make a woman blush Kit Walker, you always made me feel important, even after all the wrong I did to you at that snake pit." Jude said

"Baby, I'm honestly glad I was there. I met you and we're here together. Listen, I need to get something off my chest and I know I never talk about this, but I need you to be completely honest with me." Kit said as he held his written vows and her wedding band in his hand.

"What is it darling?" Jude asked him as Kit took slow breaths to steady his breathing.

"Do you still love Monsignor Howard?" Kit asked her as Jude froze up.

Long, steady silence passed as Jude knew little part of her still loved him, but Kit, she loved him more than any other man.

"Jude?" Kit questioned her silence.

"Only a small, little part does, but I love you more Kit." Jude said as knew how he felt.

"If you were marrying him tomorrow, would you be happier. What if you and him would have fulfilled your dream as Pope and Mother Superior and rise to Cardinal and you were right beside him in Rome? Would you still want to marry me? Or do you want him?" Kit asked all these questions as Jude's heart beat out of her chest.

"Honey, why are you asking all these questions?" Jude asked him.

"I'm just asking questions honey, that's all." Kit said

"Darling, there was once a time in my life that I though he hung the moon and that we were going to rise together as Pope and Mother Superior, but I got my fateful answer as I was locked away from society. My days there when you came to visit me were a little less painful, after all the wrong I put you through; you still loved me and now, I believe you're the one who hangs the moon. I love you Kit Walker and I will marry you darling and love you until my time is near." Jude said as she put the phone down to wipe the tears falling down her face as she pressed the phone back up against her ear.

"I love you Jude and I don't want to lose you to someone you thought was everything I'm not. I shouldn't be this spiteful, but after everything he put you through, I just can't help but feel this way and I love you too Judy Martin and I can't wait to marry you. You're the reason why God made the stars, sun, moon and light." Kit said as Jude laid down to listen to him.

"You aren't going to lose me darling, you're everything in a man that I ever wanted and needed. I can't wait to see you tomorrow, because I know you're the man I know to love and be with until death do us part. You're the reason why God made a man, for the love of man and to hold a woman in his arms with love and compassion, because a man like you darling deserves all the greatest joys life offers him." Jude said as Kit felt himself tearing up.

"I just wanted to know about this, because there is this part of me that feels like something unexpected will happen tomorrow." Kit said as Jude wondered.

"Nothing unexpected will happen tomorrow darling, I promise. We'll get married and finally live our happily ever after from then and here on out." Jude said as Kit felt a little better.

"I love you Mrs. Walker." Kit said as Jude smiled.

"I love you too Mr. Walker, now get some sleep and tomorrow night, we will be holding into one another again." Jude said as they felt complete.

"Yes, my queen needs her beauty sleep or so I heard." Kit said

"Mother Claudia must have told you." Jude said

"Yes, but I know that myself as well. I love you baby and I will see you tomorrow." Kit said as Jude felt her heart beating in a rhythm she had not felt in a long time.

"I love you too baby, Goodnight and I will see you tomorrow as we stand at the altar to take our vows and our other commences." Jude said as she wished he was kissing her right now.

"Goodnight darling, I love you." Kit said

"Goodnight sweetheart, I love you too." Jude said as she held the phone as the line disconnected as she put the phone pack on the dialer.

She put Kit's pillows next to her as she inhaled his scent as she drifted off to sleep, hoping she would be well rested tomorrow as she felt like her life was finally coming together like she always wanted.

The next morning

Vivien woke up before Jude and the girls, she wanted a few minutes of peace to drink her coffee as she started vetting ingredients ready to make breakfast

Ten minutes later, she put the casserole in the oven as all the girls and Jude walked down the stairs, yawning.

"Good morning Mrs. Walker." Jane said to Jude.

"Good morning darling, now it's time for coffee and breakfast, then all of us are going to get our hair and makeup done." Jude said as she felt nervous of the anticipation.

"What's for breakfast Vivien?" Jane asked her.

"French Toast casserole and fruit." Violet answered as she felt at peace here.

"I felt like cooking this morning and there was no way I was going to let our bride to be, cook." Vivien said as Jude smiled as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Well, thank you honey for preparing breakfast for us. I guess I'm just nervous about later." Jude said as she sat down.

"Kit told me why you are nervous, I just want to say that guy who left you is not worth crying over, because a man who ruins your mascara and not your lipstick is no man. I've seen you lipstick smudged after you and Kit get done kissing, but never your mascara." Vivien said as she wished she could say the same about Ben.

"Kit is a sweetheart, but I have already had two men break my heart, one cheated on me and another I thought hung the moon." Jude said as she took a hold of Vivien's hands.

"We have the same two things in common." Vivien said

"I'm so sorry honey." Jude said as Vivien focused on Jude.

"It's alright dear. Today is your day and we're going to go have a great day." Vivien said as Jude smiled.

"The girls sound excited, because do hear that?" Jude asked as they heard the girls giggle with excitement.

"Definitely!" Vivien said as Jude smiled.

20 minutes later, it was time for breakfast as they sat down and ate.

"This is delicious." Jane said

"Agreed." Pepper said

They ate, laughed and were happy to be able to have some time for themselves as Jude hoped that it would always be like this, plus if she had children.

They cleaned up the kitchen and went to their bedrooms to get ready for their appointments as Jude did not worry about makeup as she was happy to not get all dolled up to go outside for once, even though she loved doing it for Kit, he told her she looked beautiful with or without it.

They were all dressed as they headed downstairs the stairs and out the door with their purses as Jude locked the door as they all decided to take separate cars, Jude was going to ride with Vivien; while Violet and Pepper rode with Jane.

They left as Jude wandered what her life would be like as a wife and hopefully soon, a mother.

"Hey! You okay?" Vivien asked Jude, snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Yes darling, I'm fine. I feel great, better than that." Jude said

"It's your day darling, you deserve it." Vivien said as Jude smiled.

They arrived at the salon as they got out and went into the salon.

"Girls, do y'all have an idea of what you want to have done to your hair?" Jude asked

"I'm having mine curled and down." Jane said

"Mine is going to be the same way." Violet said

"Mine is going to be how it is right now." Pepper said

"Mine is going to be up and out of my face." Vivien said as she was called over to sit in a chair.

"What about you boss?" Pepper asked Jude.

"I want it to be up, I looked in magazine after magazine of Fall brides with their hair down and there was two hairstyles, but none to my total liking, so curled, pinned up and the way Fall brides have their hair done." Jude said as the hairstylist began sectioning her hair.

An hour later

Everyone had their hair and makeup done as they were relieved to not have to sit anymore.

They paid for their hair and makeup as they walked out if the salon and back to Vivien's car.

They drove to the church as the real nervousness plagued Jude as she felt like she was that young teenager who was left the night before her wedding and blamed for something that was not her fault.

"Vivien, I'm still scared." Jude said as they walked into the room to sit down before their guests arrived.

"It's okay honey. Just breathe and remember that Kit loves you very much." Vivien said

"Okay, well the last time someone told me to breathe and relax, I was left crying the night before my wedding from a guy that I thought gave me a disease from ever having my own children." Jude said as she wanted to get up and start being productive.

Three hours later

All the girls dresses arrived as Jude fell in love with them and the bouquets:

They all got excited over their dresses again, especially Jude's as they all got ready. Vivien and Mother Claudia helped Jude into her dress as they helped each other button it up.

Kit and Roy:

Roy helped Kit get ready, but could sense his nerves being on edge.

"You and Jude were made for each other. Don't let fear and nerves take over." Roy said as Kit's tie was not budging with being straightened.

"I just want to give her the moon and stars. I can't help but feel my nerves plaguing." Kit said as he hoped that Jude was less nervous than he was.

"Listen, we have a church full of people that we all know and we know what y'all have been through, just breathe and relax." Roy said as he pinned Kit's boutonniere to his suit jacket.

"I know and thanks for everything." Kit said as he helped pin Roy's boutonniere to his suit jacket.

"You're welcome and I wish you Jude a very blessed union." Roy said as he thought of Jane and smiled. 

"Are you ready?" Roy asked him.

"I'm ready." Kit said as they opened the door and walked slowly down the aisle to see their family and friends there as they all smiled and took pictures.

Kit reached his mom and dad as she kissed his cheek and shook his hand.

"You look good son." Kit's father said as he was nervous, but hopefully Jude would not be able to notice.

"Thank you dad." Kit said

"You look handsome baby." Kit's mother said

"Thank you mom and you look beautiful too." Kit said as he seen Father Malachi talking to Roy as the music started playing, queuing it was Jude's turn to take her place with Kit as he stepped up on the right of the platform in front of Roy.

The doors opened as Jane, Pepper and Violet all walked down the aisle to left of the platform as Vivien was in front Jude and Mother Claudia.

Vivien took her place at the altar in front of the girls as they all looked at the closed doors.

They started the music again as the doors opened as Jude felt her heart beating really fast as she just focused on Kit standing there in his suit.

They finally got to the altar as Jude smiled while Kit hugged and kissed Mother Claudia's cheek.

"Who gives this woman to this man in marriage?" Father Malachi asked Mother Claudia.

"I do." Mother Claudia said as she smiled.

"Take care of my girl Kit Walker." Mother Claudia whispered in his ear.

"I will Mother Claudia." Kit said as she went and sat down.

"You may be seated." Father Malachi said to the congregation of Kit's family and friends.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the sight of God, and in the presence of family and friends to join together this man and this woman in Holy Matrimony, which is commended of St. Paul to be an honorable estate, instituted of God and therefore is not to be entered into unexpectedly or carelessly, but reverently, joyfully and in the love of God. Into this holy estate these two persons present come now to be joined." Father Malachi starting the ceremony in an opening prayer.
Kit and Jude looked at each other and smiled.

"Is there any objections to why these two shall not be married, say it now or forever hold your peace." Father Malachi said as Kit and Jude hoped there were none.

"Good, now let's proceed." Kit said as everyone smiled to see that these two were just happy being together.

"Now, we will have the commencement of the vows, Kit you will start by saying your vows to Jude and if you have written any, you may say them after we repeat these sacred vows of endearment." Father Malachi said as Kit got nervous.

"I love you." Kit whispered to her as she smiled.

"I love you too baby." Jude whispered back to him.

"Kit, repeat after me "I, Kit, take thee, Judy, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith [or] pledge myself to you." Father Malachi read off their vows they were pledging to one another.

""I, Kit, take thee, Judy, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith [or] pledge myself to you." Kit repeated Father Malachi's vow between him and Jude.

"Kit, is there anything else you would like to vow unto Jude?" Father Malachi asked him.

"Yes Father." Kit said as Jude smiled.

"Proceed." Father Malachi said as Kit took out a folded up piece of paper out of his pocket.

"Baby, two years ago you captured my heart by being exactly who are right at this very moment. The sweetest, most loving, compassionate and sensitive person I have ever known. You have been my best friend through the good and the bad. You're the reason why I smile and I believe have given me comfort beyond measure when I have cried. You have believed me when no one else would and you have shown me how to love with passion, purity and unconditional acceptance. I'm not sure a lifetime is long enough to return all you have given me, but I promise the rest of my days, I will stand by your side. To laugh with you, believe in you and most of all, support you. In poverty, I promise to do everything to make our love grow rich, and in wealth to never let our love grow poor. Together, we are better than we were when we were alone, and today I give you my love, my trust, and my fidelity forever. You will ALWAYS be the BEST part of my day. I love you Judy Ruth Martin, forever and always." Kit delivered the rest of his promising vow to Jude as she was in tears as he held her hands.

"Kit has bestowed his vow up onto Jude as his promise will be sealed. Jude, it is now your turn to deliver your vow unto Kit, now repeat after me." Father Malachi said as Jude smiled at Kit.

""I, Judy, take thee, Kit, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith [or] pledge myself to you." Father Malachi read to her.

""I Judy, take thee, Kit, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith [or] pledge myself to you." Jude repeated Father Malachi as Kit looked at her and she felt better.

"Jude, is there anything else you would like to vow to Kit?" Father Malachi asked her.

"Yes Father." Jude said

"Proceed." Father Malachi said as Vivien handed her the piece of paper and joined her hands back with Kit's.

"Darling, I just want to say that you are my best friend, the love of my life and I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with you. You are my lover and my soul mate that I was always meant to be with forever and always. The love we possess is genuine and true.. God united us with the intent that we belong together. Two years, I could not have fallen in love with a man more compassionate and loving as you. I feel like everything in my life has led me to you. The sweetest, most loving, compassionate and sensitive person I have ever known. You have been my best friend through the good and the bad. You're the reason why I smile and I believe have given me comfort beyond measure when I have cried. You have believed me when no one else would and you have shown me how to love with passion, purity and unconditional acceptance. I'm not sure a lifetime is long enough to return all you have given me, but I promise the rest of my days, I will stand by your side. To laugh with you, believe in you and most of all, support you. "Jude has bestowed her vow up onto Kit as her promise will be sealed." Father Malachi said as Jude smiled at Kit.

"The vows have both been said between these two, so let's get on with the ring exchange." Father Malachi said as Kit and Jude smiled at each other as they were just ready to s
