I'm Fragile

Bakugo POV:

"Mina, shut up already."

"But this is exciting! It's not everyday you watch you-"

"Shut up! He can hear you!" I cover her mouth and give a mean glare. "This is why I don't tell you things."

"So rude."

"I don't care." I groaned, removing my hand. "Just cover for me. Say I went to gather more wood or some crap."

"Yessir." She saluted, what an absolute moron.

Sneaking off into the woods, I begin my search for the perfect place. It couldn't be too close to the kingdom, but it couldn't be very far either..

I had been planning this since before we left, even Aizawa helped me out. Maybe I was going to fast, but my gut told me to go through with it. I just knew he was the one..

It had to be perfect, I would accept it no other way. Because either way, this day would be remembered forever.

Arriving upon a clearing, I see the perfect spot. Directly in the middle, there was a toppled over log. It had a single red mushroom on the far left side, and moss covered the whole top.

The space was beautiful to say the least. I could only hope Red would like it..

Grabbing some nearby rocks, I form a small circle in the dirt in front of the log. It wasn't very fancy, but there's not much you can do when you're in the forest.

Satisfied with the circle, I move on to gathering firewood. I wouldn't need much, since I wouldn't be burning it for very long.

As I set up the wood, the sun burns down on my neck. This is not the time to get sunburned.

I wasn't the best at setting up campfires, but this one didn't look nearly as lousy as my others. Well, Red got distracted with just about anything. It's not like he'd take the time to lecture me on my fire building skills.

Why was I even doing this so early? It's not even the middle of the day and I'd be taking Red here later tonight.

I need to stop overthinking things and start focusing on what would make Red happy. That is all that matters right now.

Brushing my hands off on my pants, I stand back up. This would have to do I guess.

I gather a couple sticks on my way back, just to make it seem like I was actually gathering wood.

When I got back to the kingdom, I see Itazura and Kashi still buzzing around Red's arms. I knew Taiyo was cute, but they had to be overreacting just a little.

"Was Red seriously standing there the whole time?" I whisper to Mina.

"Yup, didn't even move. He looks so done with it already." She snickers as I set the wood down.

"Oi! Red!" I call over, his head instantly perks up. "Can I hold the child for a bit?"

"Yes!" He nods eagerly, stepping away from the chittering girls.

"Thanks." I say, gingerly holding Taiyo as she laughs and spurts in my arms. "Hi!"

She just reaches out for my face, smiling widely and drooling. Her hair stuck out randomly, messy and whisp-like.

A hum comes from in front of me, Kashi was pointing at the baby. She looked up at me with big eyes, as if she were waiting for an answer.

"She asked to hold the baby Bakugo." Red says over his shoulder.

"But I just got her." I whine, reluctantly handing her Taiyo and nodding so she'd understand.

If these dragon bitches weren't children and Red's friends I would kick their asses out. They weren't loud, but they were sure annoying with their humming sounds.

"How long will they be here?" I ask Red, leaning on his shoulder as I keep an eye on Kashi.

"They said that they'd leave later today. And promised to never tell Toyo until I was ready."

"Who's that?"

"He the father guy. He took care of us."

"Ah," I nod. "They'll be gone before we make dinner, right?"

"I think so."

"Good. Thanks babe." I kiss his cheek and walk off.

"Wait. Why is that good?"

"No reason. But keep an eye on them with the baby, please. I don't want them to drop her."

"Okay.." He eyes me suspiciously.

Walking over the rocks and debris, I start to clear out a space near the middle of my kingdom. This is where the castle used to be.. Where my castle used to be..

But that was in the past, I need to focus on the now. With Red, and with Taiyo.

The rocks got heavier the more I lifted, making my arms ache. And by the time the sun touched the top of the trees, I had managed to clear about one-hundred yards of rubble.

The kingdom was already looking better, even considering the long way we had in front of us.

As I walked back to the half-beaten house, it seemed that Kashi and Itazura had departed. And Iida had been hunting, seeing as there was some kind of meat over the fire.

Slapping my back pocket, I am comforted by the feel of it still lying there. Good thing it didn't fall out.

"Just in time Bakugo, I'm about done cooking, here." Iida grinned, removing the meat from the top of the fire. "Careful, it's still hot."

"Red, you good on feeding the baby?" I asked, ripping a chunk of the meat off.

Heat just didn't affect my palms for some reason. Maybe it was the calluses..

"Yeah. It must be cool before, right?" He asks, taking a bit of the meat I held out for him.

"Yup."

Watching as he blows on the steaming meat and feeds it to Taiyo. They were adorable, he would definitely be a great dad..

"Red, when you're done.. I need to talk to you." I admitted, handing a piece of meat to Mina. "Privately.."

"Okay. Take the meat too?"

"Finish it first, we have time."

I wait patiently for him to finish, I wasn't hungry myself. Despite the fact I hadn't eaten dinner. Maybe I was just too nervous.

"I'm done, Mina. You want Taiyo?" He asked, standing up.

"Sure I guess. You fed her already?"

"Yup. She is full." He nodded, handing her off.

"Okay let's go." I say, grabbing on of the blankets.

Red didn't question it, and just walked beside me to the forest. The nervous knot in my stomach grew.

I could do this.. I knew I could. But never in a million years did I think it would be this stressful.

Arriving upon the log, I quickly lit the fire with some flint and steel. And throw the blanket over the log.

"We going to be here long?" Red asked, sitting beside me on the blanket.

"Just for a bit. I came to me that we didn't really ever go on any real dates.."

"I don't care. I was with you anyway." He smiled.

"But I took you here for a reason Red.." I began, my heart thumping.

"What?"

"I knew since the moment I put you up on your first horse that I liked you. Just touching you sent butterflies through my stomach."

"That is cute.."

"And when you laughed, you could light up the whole room. Just with your giggle. Only yours. When you smile, oh god. Have mercy please, if looks could kill I would be long gone. You are so beautiful, from every angle. I can't get enough of you, Red." I gaze into his eyes, a smile spreading across my lips.

"Really?"

"Yes! Yes, really. But I know this may seem rushed, or maybe we are moving too fast.. But my gut just tells me it's time."

"Wait what? What are you doing?" He asks, looking confuse as I kneeled in front of him.

"Red.. I don't think I can stand to be next to you anymore.. Not unless I can make you officially mine. Even though we don't really have anyone to officiate us.. Red, will you marry me?"

"Yes!" He squeaked, tackling me to the ground.

"Careful the fire.." I mumbled, hugging him tight.

"The ring?" He asked.

"Oh yes, here.." I fumble with the ring, pulling the it from my pocket and slipping onto his fingers.

"Sparkle.." He whispers, staring at it. "I wear it forever?"

"Mhm." I nod. "Forever and ever and ever and ever and eve-"

"I get it. Shush you loud mouth." He giggled, pressing a finger to my lips. "I just wanna kiss.."

"And you get one." I smirk, pulling us together and letting our lips meet.

I smile between pecks, returning again and again onto his face. There was never enough of him to get.

"Wait.. I have to tell you something." He stopped, sitting up.

"Yeah, what is it?"

"I know I am not perfect.. And there is many things messy in my head. I'm still fragile, and I break from time to time.. So I will need you to pick up my pieces again, just a little." He says softly. "I'm fragile.."

"Red.. I will always be there. Whenever, wherever. I will never leave you, ever again. I have to admit.. I've fallen for you, hard. And now I'm in love that I don't ever want to escape.."

"I.. I love you."
