Chapter 1: New Home

(Your POV)

"Honey, we're moving!" yelled my dad from the living room of our small apartment in Flint, Michigan.

"What?!" I yelled from my room while working on a 2-page paper about the history of U.S. presidents on my laptop during winter break.

I ran downstairs to see what was going on. "I'm sorry, sweetie, but I've been offered a better paying job in Wisconsin. So either I leave you with Aunt Bessie or we move." he said.

"Fine, just let me finish my history paper." I said, dashing back upstairs to my bedroom. "My little school lover." Dad chuckled.

After sending the paper to my history teacher Mr.Sullivan (along with a letter saying that I'll be moving), I packed up all my stuff and headed for Wisconsin. "I can't believe I lost my job." said dad.

"You didn't lose your job, dad, it's Congress. They bribe bosses to lay off their employees so they can see how it'll affect their families, it's just part of their sick experiment." I said. "You and your government conspiracy theories." said dad. "You gotta admit, they're up to something." I said in protest.

After arriving in Wisconsin, I unpacked my stuff in my new house and went to meet my new neighbors.

I rang the doorbell of the first house and heard a woman's voice.

"STEVEN, GET THE DOOR!" she screamed. "Ma, we talked about yelling when we have company. Hi, I'm Steven Hyde." said the boy. I was taken back a little by him.

'He's cute.' I thought. "Are you ok?" asked Steven. His question pulled you out of your daydreaming. "Oh, I'm fine. Thanks. I'm Y/N L/N, your new neighbor." I introduced myself. "Sweet." he said.

"STEVEN, GET BACK IN HERE AND RUB MY FEET!" yelled the woman. "Who's that?" I asked. "My mom, trust me she's lovely." said Steven sarcastically. "So, guess I'll see you around then?" I asked. "Yeah, bye." he answered, closing the door. "Bye." I said.

'Why didn't you tell him he was cute when you had the chance, you idiot?' I asked myself.

At the next house, a girl with red hair answered the door. "Hi, I'm Donna Pinciotti."she said. "Hi. I'm Y/N L/N, your new neighbor." I said. "Sweet." she said. "Hey, Donna. Your mother just got with her Woman Warriors girls so how about-Oh, hi. I'm Bob Pinciotti A.K.A. Bargain Bob." said a man with a semi-afro and tan skin.

"You were saying?" asked Donna. "I was gonna suggest that we head over to the Drive-In tonight to catch Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and your new friend can come too if her folks are ok with it." said Bob. "I'll call my dad." I said.

Me: "Hey dad, I met a girl named Donna Pinciotti and she and her dad are go to see Who Framed Roger Rabbit tonight and I was hoping I could go with them."
Dad: "Sure, Y/N. Just be home by 10:00."
Me: "Thanks, love you."
Dad: "Love you too, bye."
Me: "Bye."

"He said it was ok as long as I'm home by curfew." I said. "Awesome, I'll see you there at 5?" asked Donna. "Definitely" I said. "Cool. Bye." she said.
