Where'd you go?

~~~Bo's POV~~~
"Wake up, Bo," whispered a voice urgently in my ear. I frowned, and without opening my eyes, I reached up my hand and brushed at whoever was attempting to wake me up. My hand made contact with skin, and I heard whoever it was curse.
"Screw, I'm through being nice!" Suddenly, I felt fingers pinch my skin tightly, and my eyes flew open.
"Dot, what the hell?" I hissed.
"You need to wake up, and so does Tyler," she said, her hands planted firmly on her hips. She had on a pair of pajama pants and a sweatshirt, and her hair was sticking up all over the place.
"Why?" I moaned, "What time is it?"
"six-thirty," she answered through a yawn. "And you need to wake Tyler up so that she can get back to her room before the entire pack wakes up." I glanced at her quizzically and she sighed. "If the pack sees her leaving your room, where she obviously slept, it's going to raise questions... duh!"
I hated to admit it, but sometimes Dot was a lot smarter than me.
"You're got a point," I said slowly. "I'll get her up."
"Fine," she said, "I'm going to take a shower." She turned and padded out of my room, and I heard her door open and shut down the hall a few seconds later.
I looked down at Tyler and smiled. She was nestled up next to me, with her forehead resting against my chest. Her hand was pressed against her lips, and her eyebrows were furrowed as if she was in deep thought.
So close, yet so far away, I thought grimly.
"Ty," I called softly. She groaned and pressed her head deeper into my body. I chuckled and shook her arm. Her eyes opened slowly and she sighed.
"Why do you hate me?" Tyler moaned, and she rubbed her eyes with her fist.
"I could never hate you, Ty," she laughed quietly, but I meant every word. "You've got to get up and get back to your room before the whole pack wakes up. It wouldn't look good for you if you came walking out of my room in the morning."
"Why is that- oh..." her voice trailed off with realization. She sat up, completely awake, and I could see the blood rushing to her cheeks. "Yeah, I'm going to go back to my room now," Tyler said quickly, and she jumped out of my bed.
Just as she reached the door, Tyler turned to me and smiled. "Thanks for letting me sleep in here. I meant it when I said this wasn't going to happen every night." I nodded with a grin, and she disappeared.
Dad sucks, grumbled my wolf.
I laughed to myself, agreeing completely, and I got up out of bed and walked into the bathroom for a quick shower. I then dried myself off and changed into a pair of jeans, a black t-shirt, and my light blue sports jacket. I pulled on a pair of sneakers and trekked down to the kitchen, where I found Fae and Fletcher already eating breakfast.
"And he awakens!" exclaimed Fletcher through a mouthful of scrambled eggs. Fae winced and smacked him on the back of the head. "Damn it Fae! What the hell was that for?"
"Chew, swallow, and then speak," she instructed, as if teaching a young child. Fletcher made a point of stuffing his face and then chewing slowly with his mouth hanging open. I grimaced and poured myself a bowl of cereal.
"You're disgusting, dude," remarked Rhett as he stepped into the kitchen. He kissed the top of Fae's head and plopped down in the chair next to her. They all started to argue about Fletcher's eating habits, with Fae and Rhett teaming up on Fletcher. I just sat there quietly and ate my food, my mind floating elsewhere.
"Dude!" called Rhett, and I jumped. I found everyone staring at me, including Dot, whose arrival I hadn't noticed.
"What?" I asked defensively.
"We've got to leave for school now or we'll be late," said Fae, and she looked at me critically. "Are you alright, Bo?"
"Yeah," I replied, feigning a yawn, "I just didn't sleep well last night." Dot let out a short giggle and I shot her a death glare. Her eyes widened and she clammed up immediately. I dumped my dishes in the sink and I followed everyone out to my 1978 powder blue Chrysler Cordoba. I had bought it myself, but my dad helped me out with my insurance with the stipulation that I give Dot a ride to school.
The drive to school was filled with Fletcher and Dot singing off-key to some dumb Ke$ha song that made me want to bang my head against a wall. When I pulled into the parking lot, Dot immediately raced out of the car to go find her friends. Fletcher went off somewhere to go flirt with some human girls, and Rhett followed him to make sure he didn't make a complete ass of himself.
That left Fae and I to walk to homeroom together, since we had lucked out and been put in the same one. At first, everyone thought Fae and I were an item, but that was completely untrue. We'd just been best friends since I could remember, what with her being my Beta.
We sat down at some desks in the back of the classroom and I pulled out some chemistry homework. After about five minutes of staring at the sheet full of confusing math-related questions, I crumpled it out and threw it back into my backpack. I leaned back in the seat and glanced at Fae, who was studying me.
"What?" I asked, and she shook her head slightly.
"What's up with you?" She asked. "You've been off for the past couple days, and yesterday you even skipped school."
"It's my mate," I said, and then my eyes widened in realization of what I had just said. I was just so used to telling Fae my issues, that it felt natural to tell her. I tried to think of something to say, but I came up with nothing.
"Seriously, Bo?" she rolled her eyes. "You'll find her someday, so stop worrying about it."
I let out a sigh of relief. "You're right. I'm sure she's out there."
Back at our pack house, to be exact, my wolf commented.
"How are you and Rhett doing," I asked, changing the subject. Fae snorted and ran her hand through her fiery hair.
"I have no idea," she sighed. "We haven't really addressed the fact that he hasn't claimed me as his mate yet. I mean, everyone knows, so doesn't he just mark me and get it over with already?"
I laughed. "You sound like Rhett marking you is a chore or something."
"I just wish," Fae said softly, "That he would stop being so embarrassed to have found his mate earlier than most." She looked away for a moment, and I could tell she was trying to keep from crying. I could only guess how bad she was feeling. She and Rhett and found each other as mates when he had come from a different pack with his parents.
They had only been fourteen, and Rhett had always seemed uncomfortable with the fact that he had found his soul mate when he had barely even hit puberty. Not that he didn't love Fae; you could tell just by looking at them that they cared very deeply for each other.
"Fae," she turned to look at me. "He will claim you."
"How do you know?" she asked, and I smiled at her.
"Because he needs you in his life," I explained. "You're the only girl who can keep his sorry ass in line."
Fae laughed and wiped a stray tear from the corner of her eye. "Damn straight!"
I was sitting at my desk putting the finishing touches on an English paper when Dot came bursting through my door. She was panting, and there was a look of emergency on her face.
"Bo... She's... Can't find..." Dot said between pants, and her hands clutched at her stomach.
"Dot," I said, "Take a deep breath." She nodded and took a few moments to regulate her breathing. "Alright, now what's wrong?"
"Tyler's missing," she blurted.
"Wh-what?" I stammered. Dot repeated herself and I jumped out of my office chair. "What the hell happened?" I asked angrily.
Dot took a step back. "Well, I went to her room to ask if she wanted to watch a movie, and she wasn't there. Then I asked everyone if they'd seen her, and no one had. I searched the entire house, with Fae's help, and we couldn't find her." She paused and looked down at the floor. "I'm scared, Bo."
I kept a calm façade, when in reality, I was freaking out, and I pulled Dot into a hug. "It'll be fine. I'll go look for her, okay?" Dot took a deep breath, but her frown remained. "Does dad know?"
"Yeah, I told him when we didn't find her anywhere in the pack house. He's more worried than pissed," Dot said.
"Alright. I'm gonna go talk to him and then search in the woods. Maybe she went for a run or something." Dot nodded, and then I rushed out of my room and down the stairs. Before I could make it to my father's office, he intercepted me from the living room.
"Have you seen Tyler?" He asked, and when I shook my head, he pursed his lips.
"I'm going to go search the woods," I stated. "I'll go by myself, though, because then I'll be faster." My dad insisted I bring someone else, but I brushed him off.
"Fine, but if you come back without finding her, I'll send the warriors in." I nodded and sprinted out of the house. I shifted as soon as I was in the backyard, and I tore through the woods.
I thought that maybe I would be able to feel her, but there was no such luck. I tried to sniff out her scent and maybe track it, but so far, I was having no luck. It was late, a little past eight o'clock, so the woods were dark.
Terrible thoughts started to float through my mind as I wandered through the woods. Maybe she decided to leave. Maybe she wandered onto another pack's territory and got captured. Maybe she fell and got hurt. Maybe the hunters found her again.
Shit.
I looked up towards the moon and howled. My wolf was whining, and I pushed the negative thoughts from my mind so that only one question remained.
Tyler, where are you?
WHERE'S TYLER????
I was origianlly going to make this a simple filler chapter, but i decided i would add the last part because I haven't really done any interesting endings to my chapters... In my opinion. :)
I would've uploaded sooner but I learned I had hockey practice like five minutes before my ride got here so I had to speed off to that.
I just wanted to say that i may not upload every day because I just started a new psych class, and the outlines are KILLER! That said, when i have a new chapter, I promise to upload :)
Almost 1,000 reads :)
