~~~Bo's POV~~~
"I think my brain is going to explode," groaned Tyler, and she slammed shut the chemistry textbook and fell back on the bed. "I need a break." A break was rightfully deserved since we'd been studying for the past two hours since dinner.
"Its fine," I replied, "We're done for today anyways." She pumped her fist weakly in the air and shut her eyes. I studied her serene expression surrounded by the sandy blonde hair fanning across the bed and smiled. Her gray long sleeve shirt was bunched up, displaying a strip of her flat stomach, and her navy pajama shorts showed her toned legs. Tyler really was stunning.
It had been five days since our first date at the little Italian bistro in town, and Tyler and I had practically been inseparable. I walked her to her classes at school and we'd sat together at lunch. After school, I'd help her with her homework and after that we'd watch movies or train together. I'd really gotten to know her, and I'd found that she was even more brilliant than I'd originally thought.
It also didn't hurt that we'd done a lot of kissing. Nothing more than kissing, but it made me incredibly happy to have that level of intimacy with her.
Looking at her, I got an idea, and as silently as I could, I shut my own chemistry textbook and set it on the end of the bed. Then, I twisted onto my knees and moved over Tyler's still body so I was straddling her without actually sitting on her. She didn't respond to my movement, and I frowned. I leaned down so that my nose was barely brushing against hers, and yet there was no still response.
I was starting to sit up when Tyler pulled me back close and pressed her lips against my nose. "You're cute," she said with a chuckle.
"I try," I said with a shrug. I glanced at the window and was taken off guard when Tyler wrapped her legs around my waist and flipped us over so that she was on top of me. Her lips curved up into a mischievous smiled, and she tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear.
Tyler placed her hands on either side of my chest and leaned down slowly, her long hair tickled my face. "I win," she declared. Then, Tyler pressed her lips to mine. The kiss started out soft and delicate, but I wanted more and so did she.
Tyler nibbled on my bottom lip and I let out a mixture of a growl and a moan. My hands traveled up the sides of her torso, and I traced my lips along the soft skin of her neck. I felt her shiver and she let out a soft whimper.
Suddenly, someone pounded on her door. I groaned in disappointment.
"Tyler!" Fae called. Tyler shot me an embarrassed look, and I couldn't help but laugh at the bright red tint to her cheeks. She slapped my arm and swung off me and the bed. Tyler opened the door and I watched from the bed as she talked to Fae, keeping the door shut as much as she could.
"Hey, Anton and Stark need to talk to you," said Fae, "I gotta go find Bo, too."
"Oh," replied Tyler, and she ran her hand through her mane of hair, "Well, about Bo..."
"Hi Fae," I called from the bed. Tyler whipped around and glared at me, and Fae pushed open the door and raised her eyebrows. I pushed myself up into the sitting position on the bed and gave her an innocent smile. "Tyler and I were just studying."
Fae looked from me to the bright red Tyler and shook her head. "Yeah okay, sure. Just hurry up and get to Stark's office because whatever he wants to talk to you guys about seems urgent." I watched as Fae disappeared from the doorway.
"C'mon. Let's go talk to your dad."
*
As soon as we'd walked into my dad's office, I knew something was up. My dad was talking to Anton in hushed voices, and once we walked into the office, they both clammed up. I noticed Anton looking at Tyler with concern, and my dad looked at her with pity.
"What's up?" I asked slowly as Tyler and I sat down. "You guys wanted us?"
"Uh, yeah," replied my dad and he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "We've received some distressing news from one of the patrols."
"How does this involve us?" asked Tyler. "I mean, I get how it involves Bo since he's the future Alpha, but I've barely been in this pack." She had a point.
"Well, it does," said Anton slowly, and he looked really uncomfortable. "I was leading a patrol, and we were running along the northern border of our territory when we caught scent of a familiar stench." I got a sick feeling in my stomach as I started to understand. I knew what Anton was talking about, but I didn't want it to be true.
"There's a good possibility there are hunters nearby. The same hunters that had Tyler in captivity."
~~~Tyler's POV~~~

Hunters.

The word brought all of the memories of my three years in captivity rushing back to me. All those hours filled with silver. All those sleepless nights hearing others being tortured and killed. All those days I prayed for death to come and rescue me.

"Tyler?"

I looked slowly next to me to see Bo staring at me, concern evident in his expression. "What?" I asked, keeping my voice even.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah," I said, and I gave him a completely fake smile. "I'm fine."

"There's a good possibility, but we're not sure," said Anton slowly.

"What do you mean you're not sure?" asked Bo, and he tensed in his chair.

"The scent was stale, but it was definitely there. We are going to send out patrols more frequently, and increase our training in case they attack, but they've moved. We don't know where they are, but we thought it would be good to let you know so you're on guard."

The room was silent for a moment. "Okay," I said quietly, "Is that all?"

"Uh, yeah." Stark looked shocked by my steady voice. This was just the calm before the storm. I wouldn't let my emotions erupt in front of anyone, including Bo. "You guys can go." I nodded at both him and Anton and then stood up from the chair.

I turned away from their confused stares and walked quickly out of the room. I needed to find a place to be alone.

"Ty, wait up!"

I whipped around to see Bo running up the stairs after me. "Are you alright?"

"You already asked me that," I said flatly. I was trying hard to contain myself, and so far I was succeeding. However, any minute I would start screaming and crying.

"I know," he said, "but you weren't telling the truth. Do you want to go somewhere and talk about it?"

"No." Bo was sweet, and I could tell he was trying, but I wasn't about to let him in. Remembering the horrifying memories was one thing, but saying them out loud was completely another. "I think I'm just gonna go take a shower and go to bed, since it's pretty late."

"Ty, I really think-"

"Just drop it, Bo!" I snapped, the words coming out harsher than I intended. "Sorry, I just need to be by myself right now." Without another word from either of us, I turned and sprinted up to the bathroom. I slammed the door shut behind me and let out a deep breath.

They were back.

Drake was back.

I should've known that he'd come back for me. He didn't seem like the type of person who would give up so easily.

I turned on the shower to scalding and stripped out of my jeans and t-shirt. Before I could jump under the water, I caught sight of myself in the mirror and froze. The three inch scar on my face seemed more pronounced, and I looked down at the scarred tissue on the side of my hand from when I'd banged on the door of my cell.

Hesitantly, I turned around to look at my bare back. The scars were white and jagged, barely any of my back undamaged. As I stared at the ugly imperfections, I could feel the hot tears rolling down my cheeks.

After a few moments, I managed to rip my gaze from the mirror, and I stepped into the shower. The pulsating water pounded against my back, and I just leaned against the tiled wall and shut my eyes.

I don't know how long I'd spent in the shower. The water had been ice cold for maybe a couple minutes before I shook myself out of my stupor. I shut off the water and shivered as I wrapped myself in a fluffy towel. I crossed the hallway to my bedroom and changed into a pair of warm sweatpants. I pulled on a t-shirt and one of Bo's Abercrombie hoodies and tied my hair up into a loose bun.

There was no use in crying over the return of my tormenter. He'd try to kill me; I was sure of that. But unlike when I was in captivity, I was now in training and a lot stronger. I wouldn't go down without a fight.

I turned off the light and climbed into my bed. It felt colder and emptier. The past couple nights, Bo had slept with me. We didn't actually do anything, but he would just hold me. It was the most magical feeling in the world, and now, I felt smaller and lonelier without him. I shouldn't have snapped at him, but I just couldn't talk to him about Drake; it was my problem. Was that selfish?

Still, I needed him to be with me.

I slipped out of bed and walked out of my room. The hallways were deserted, which made sense since it was late, and I made my way past the many bedrooms until I came to Bo's all too familiar door. I entered silently and without knocking, and I crossed his room silently and stood next to his sleeping form. I smiled sadly and crawled beneath his covers and settled next to his body.

"Ty?" his voice was husky from sleep. "Is something wrong?"j

I burrowed into his arms and closed my eyes. "Just hold me, please."

He paused before saying, "Okay."
