~~~Tyler's POV~~~
"Sorry," I muttered, "I didn't see you."
"It was my fault," he said stiffly, "I wasn't watching where I was going." Bo extended a hand, and I slipped mine into it. I jumped as a spark of electricity passed through us, but Bo didn't comment on it. He reached down and scooped up my papers and then handed them to me.
"I'll see you later, Tyler," Bo said, and then he was gone. I ran a hand through my hair and shook my head slightly before starting back down the hallway. I looked at my schedule to see that I had math next. I shuffled through my papers, but I couldn't find my map.
"Damn it," I muttered. I must've left it back on the ground where I had collided with Bo. I would have gone back for it, but the hallway's student traffic was pushing me one way. By the time I found my math classroom, the bell had already rung.
My math teacher didn't introduce me like my English teacher, which was something I was thankful for. She handed me a thick packet, and assigned me a seat next to a boy with short, pale blond hair who was wearing a letterman's jacket. He looked slightly familiar. I walked to the back of the classroom and set my backpack down next me and I plopped down in my seat.
"I'm Patrick." I looked up at the boy, and saw him grinning at me. He stuck out his hand, and I shook it, my mouth forming a small smile.
"Tyler," I replied. "Nice to meet you, Patrick."
"Technically, you already have met me," he said with a quiet chuckle. I shot him a confused look. "We met briefly a couple days ago. I'm in the pack."
Realization hit me, and I blushed. "I'm so sorry! I didn't recognize you."
"It's fine," he said dismissively, "We only talked for a minute before Bo's little sister stole you away." There was a hint of bitterness in his voice, and I noticed a dark emotion flash through his eyes, but I just shrugged it off.
The teacher, Mrs. Cross, resumed her lesson, and ten minutes later, she told us to work on a certain problem with our partners. The problem with that was, I had no idea what to do. She had talked about all these formulas and algorithms like we were supposed to know what they were, but I was clueless.
Patrick started reading the problem and working, whereas I just stared at the paper. I felt embarrassed, defeated, and heartbroken, and I could feel tears threatening to spill.
"Shit!" my head snapped around to glance at Patrick. He was looking at me, and his eyes were wide, like he had remembered something. "I completely forgot. You're totally lost, aren't you?"
"Yeah," I replied, surprised. Patrick scooted his chair closer to mine and started to explain what we were doing in full detail. Just as class ended, I found myself starting to understand what I was supposed to be doing. "Thanks, that really helped," I told him, as we packed up out things.
"No problem," said Patrick with a shrug. "If you want, I could help you catch up back at the pack house."
"That would be awesome, actually," I said genuinely. "I really need the help, as you can tell." Patrick chuckled as we walked out of the classroom together, and we stood outside in the middle of the hallway as other students surged around us.
"What do you have next?" he asked, and I pulled my schedule out of my back pocket.
"I have gym," I said, and I made a face. "I saw the gym locker rooms on the way in, so I know where those are. I'll see you later, Patrick." I turned and walked back to where I had seen the stairs, and I made my way to the first floor of the school.
The classes I had before lunch seemed to drag on and on. I wanted to punch a wall by the end of social studies, and gym was boring. We just walked around the track outside, and I had no friends so I was walking all by myself.
By the time lunch came around, I was tired and my brain felt like it was at full capacity. I made my way to the large cafeteria and jumped into the lunch line, suddenly starving. I pulled a piece of cheese pizza and a carton of orange juice onto my tray, and I paid for the lunch with the money Stark had given me.
I stepped out of the lunch line and found myself in every new kid's nightmare. Where was I going to sit?
I could see Bo sitting with Fletcher, Fae, and Rhett, but I doubted he would want me to sit over there. Dot and the other freshman had lunch at a different time, so I couldn't sit with her either.
I was about to go sit in the hallway to eat when I heard someone call my name. I saw Patrick approaching, and I felt better. "Hey Patrick," I said with a smile.
"Hey, do you want sit with us?" he asked.
"Us?"
"Yeah," he pointed to a table to the right of Bo's table. "Us as in me and my friends." Not in any position to say no to a seat at lunch, I nodded and followed him to his table. I set my tray down and sat down next to a pretty girl with chocolate brown hair.
"You must be Tyler!" she exclaimed. "I'm Tess," I smiled at her, and she introduced me to the other people at the table, and I immediately knew I would probably never remember their names. I learned that Tess was the only other werewolf at the table, other than Patrick and I.
All through lunch, I munched on my food and listened to everyone else's conversations. I would speak when asked direct questions, but my brain was numb from the morning classes, and I was still thinking about my encounter with Bo this morning.
I glanced over at his table occasionally, and sometimes our eyes would connect. I would instantly look away, though. He had this strained look on his face, and couldn't help but feel that I had something to do with it.
"What do you have next?" asked Patrick.
"Chemistry, room 347" I answered. I was not excited; not at all.
"That's right near my social studies class," he replied, "I can show you where it is." I told him that would be great. I still hadn't gone back to the main office to get another map, and I had gotten lost many times going from class to class.
The bell rang, signaling that lunch was over, and everyone at the table stood up. Patrick and I said goodbye to Tess and the others, and then we made our way out of the cafeteria. We climbed the stairs of the main staircase and Patrick stopped in front of a classroom a few minutes later.
"Your stop, miss," he announced in a terrible British accent. I laughed and told him that I would see him later. I pushed into the door and my smile faded.
Sitting in the back row was Bo.
~~~Bo's POV~~~

I sensed her before she even walked into the room.

"Are you alright?" asked Fae, and I realized I was sitting stiff as a board.

"Yeah," I said, relaxing my body, "I just got a chill." I glanced up to the door just as Tyler entered the room, and I saw her beautiful smile disappear, and I knew it was because she saw me.

I was a complete idiot.

I hadn't been able to control my impulses in her room, and all I had ended up doing was hurt Tyler. I felt like a jerk, and I really wanted to apologize. I just didn't know how to say sorry without telling her that I was dying to kiss her again. I thought maybe avoiding her would work until I figured out what to say, but that plan wasn't working.

I watched Tyler exchange words with the teacher, and then she frowned and nodded. She turned and started to walk down an aisle between the desks, and I realized he had assigned her to the empty chair next to mine.

"Hey guys," she said with a transparent smile.

"Hi Tyler!" replied Fae brightly.

"Hey," I mumbled. Fae shot me a look, a mix of confusion and irritation, but I ignored her. Tyler sat down silently and pulled a notebook out of her backpack. A few moments later, class began and I started furiously scribbling notes.

Occasionally, I would glance over at Tyler. She looked completely lost, and it seemed like she was trying not to cry. She ran a hand through her sandy locks and I could tell she had no idea what she was writing in her notebook.

She bit her lip, something that made her look incredibly sexy, and I remember the way our lips had fit perfectly together. If my wolf had his way, I would jump out of my chair right now, sweep Tyler off of her feet, and kiss her like there was no tomorrow. However, that wasn't going to happen.

When there was about fifteen minutes left in class, the teacher wrote a couple mole to mole ratio problems on the board and told us to work on them silently while he ran down to the office quickly. Instantly after he left, students found their friends and started talking.

I glanced over at Fae to see she was texting someone, and by the smitten look on her face, it was Rhett. They really were a good couple, despite Rhett's idiotic moves.

I looked over at Tyler to see her hunched over her notebook, just staring at the copied problem in front of her. She wrote something, then instantly erased it. I heard her curse under her breath, and then she dropped her pencil and put her head in her hands.

I took a deep breath and scooted closer to her. "Do you want some help?"

Tyler's head shot out of her hands and she stared at me. "From you?" The way she sounded surprised that I was offering made me feel guilty.

"Yeah, I'm not super amazing with these sorts of problems, but I get the general idea," I said with a shrug.

"That would be helpful," she said slowly. "Thanks." I spent the last minutes of class explaining how to do take a certain amount of grams of a compound and convert it to the number of moles of that compound.

"I think I get it now," Tyler said happily as she finished the last problem. "Thanks, Bo." She looked up at me through her long, dark eyelashes, and I found myself mesmerized by her dark, intense green eyes.

Kiss her! hissed my wolf.

"Anytime," I replied with a forced grin.
