Hello dear readers! This is yet another story I'm embarking upon, one that is considerably different from my normal fare. It deals with a dystopian world of magic and intrigue, not to mention considerable mystery. It's more for practice than anything else, a chance to try different styles and weave a story while I'm at it. This does not mean it will be lesser than anything else I've created! Only different, hopefully in a good way.

But another thing I'm working on is differentiating character viewpoints, so I decided to let others create my characters so that I could get a variety and practice making them seem "different" from one another. Therefor, many characters in this story will be created by people other than myself.

Almost 300 years ago, the city of Vivifica was built in the aftermath of a series of chemical explosions that laid waste to Earth. It was spearheaded by the most ingenious of the remaining humans, a stunning city in the clouds that loomed far above the devastation of the land below. For three centuries, peace reigned and the people within the city lived without fear of what they had left below as they repopulated. But now something has changed....

16 years ago to the day, the ruling council of Vivifica issued a surprising decree - any child with strange, possibly inexplicable irregularities was to be given to the government for the good of the whole population. You were one of those children.

In the present time, the ruling council has made yet another announcement, this time presenting what they call a new source of entertainment. Hunters. Trained professionals tasked with journeying outside of the safe confines of the city and into the devastated land below. There, they hunt the monsters that have evolved amidst the devastation, all in an attempt to please their "fans". But it's so much more than that. Cameras accompany the Hunters almost everywhere they go, and regular citizens are beginning to watch their every move through their screens. Because when all is said and done, Hunters have one goal - become popular. Make it to the top of the rankings, and stay there. Fame and glory await those who succeed.

But the competition is fierce, and the Hunters will soon learn that not every monster remains outside of their protected city, and not every one bears a beastly face.
