The week flew by fast and now it's Friday. Just boring classes and some hang outs but I was actually getting better piece by piece. I still miss my dad a lot but there's nothing I can do about it.

The highlight of my week though was to watch Derek and Tiana walk down the hall shooting deadly glares at everyone who looked at them. Tiana's hair looked like she stuck it in the meat grinder- compliments of me- and Derek now has to buy a new car and let's just say things didn't go well when he sent his sister nudes instead of Tiana. I laughed so hard I cried when I heard that he's being sent off to boarding school. Guess this was his last chance and he royally screwed up when he decided to cheat on my best friend. The good thing though, they don't know it's us.

"Oh my gosh Jess! Guess what time of the year it is!?" Emma squealed running down the hallway over to me.

"Hoefest?" I joked.

"No you stupid bitch," Emma says rolling her eyes, "The carnival's back in town!"

"Oh right. It's October how could I forget?"

Every year the carnival comes to town in October. This carnival is the biggest event this town has ever had since it's small but people here and from nearby towns come to enjoy it. There's a shit ton of rides and activities to do and the prizes are a bit lame but it's all in the fun.

"Yeah so Ry, Kat and I want to head out there tomorrow. You should invite Nathan. That boy is lonely." Emma said.

I laughed, "By lonely you mean he already has girls lining up and guys trying to befriend him? You know I don't think I want to go to the carnival this year."

She stares at me, "C'mon Jess it'll be fun! We've never missed the carnival before. This is our thing!
Pretty please." She pouted.

"Okay, okay fine. I'll go."

She jumps up and cheers, "Yay! I gotta go see you in Literature!" And she's off as fast as she came.

I sighed. Guess I'm going to the carnival again.

***

The day is finally over and I made my way to the school exit. Emma was droning on and on about the carnival during class blocking out Mrs. Hamilton's voice and I couldn't concentrate. Whatever. I barely pay attention anyway.

"Jessie! Jessie!" Someone called.

I turned around and scanned the hallway. My eyes landed on a certain dark haired boy grinning at me. He jogged up towards me, "Hey. I haven't seen you all day."

"And it could've stayed that way," I muttered.

He just laughs. We stand there just looking at each other for a minute in silence.

Better break the ice.

"So um Em wanted me to ask you if you wanted to come with us to the carnival tomorrow. I don't know why she's so insistent on you coming. You probably aren't in to that stuff anyway."

"And what kind of stuff do you think I'm into?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"I don't know." I shrugged. "Anyway just tell me if you're coming by at least 2 tomorrow."

He nodded and we both parted ways. I walked into the parking lot and found my car and unlocked it, getting in.

Maybe if he did decide to come it wouldn't be so bad.

I put the keys into the ignition and turned it, starting the car and switched my gears into drive and pulled out of the parking lot heading home.

I went home to the smell of pancakes floating around the house. My stomach growled. I didn't even realize I was hungry.

Oh well food awaits!

I washed up them grabbed a plate, putting two pancakes on it. I found the syrup and squirted the gooey substance all over them then begun gobbling up the deliciousness on my plate.

My mom came downstairs and eyed me, "Really?"

I shrugged and continued eating. I finished up a few minutes later and washed the plate and dried it, putting it back in the cupboard.

I've appeased the monster in my stomach for now.

I happily skipped upstairs and went to take a long shower, making sure to scrub every inch  of my skin.

-15 minutes later-

"CAUSE WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IS I'D CATCH A GRENADE FOR YOU!" someone's high pitched voice boomed.

I jumped. What the actual fuck? I turned off the shower.

"THROW MY HAND ON A BLADE FOR YOU!"

I grabbed my towel and dried my skin quickly trying to calm myself down before I go all bitchcita on that motherfucker who dared to interrupt my lovely shower.

"I'D JUMP IN FRONT OF A TRAIN FOR YOU! YOU KNOW I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU!"

I opened the bathroom door and peeked out. No one. Huh that's weird.

"OH I WOULD GO THROUGH ALL THIS PAIN, TAKE A BULLET STRAIGHT THROUGH MY BRAIN...." I walked to my bedroom window and opened it staring in shock at the person below.

"Yes I would die for you baby," he sang,"but you won't do the same."

Most girls would have been crying by now or spluttering on about how sweet that was or just stand there in awe.

Me?

Oh no.

I think you should know by now I'm not like most girls.

"YOU STUPID, CRAZY MOTHERFUCKER!! HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT MY SHOWER!? YOUR VOICE SUCKS SO SHUT THE FUCK UP. WHO EVEN DOES THAT SHIT AT 9:00 IN THE NIGHT? FUCK YOU!" I yelled at him, flipping him the middle finger at the end. I slammed the window shut and walked away from it.

Is he fucking insane? Is that supposed to serenade me because with that performance I don't think it would even impress a jellyfish.

I got dressed in a black tank top and shorts and slipped under the covers.

What an awesome night this was.

I closed my eyes and drifted off into the darkness.

Ah so we have Romeo's big failure to woo his Juliet who gave him a piece  of her mind. Was she too savage or bitchy about it? What would you have done in Jess' place? Don't be a silent reader!!
