Chapter 7

Huey, Dew and Lou made their way to the alternate red triplet's room. Once they got there, Dew knocked on the door in a small pattern.

"Come in..." A soft voice from the other side of the door called out.

"Huey? Are you in here?" The alternate green triplet asked as they walked into the room.

"If you heard my voice then I obviously am, aren't I?" Hue said harshly. Huey looked down at the floor. He knew exactly where his other self was hiding, because he would hide there all the time, as a kid and even now.

"Hue, I know where you're hiding." Huey pointed out in a soft tone.

"Okay, and? I don't care what you know or don't know anymore, just go away." The main red triplet sighed and went over to the bed, kneeling down and crawling underneath.

"Why are you ad at me? I was just suggesting something that might help me get home."

"I'm not mad....I'm scared, scared that you'll never get home, scared that, if we try something, and fail, we''l break the space time continuum or something." Hue explained. He had every right to be scares, one little screw up could ruin everyone's lives. He didn't know exactly what would happen if they were to mess things up, and he didn't even want to think about it.

"Hue, listen. I've been thinking, and, maybe, your idea just might be the safest way for me to get home, without breaking anything in the universe." He admitted. Sure, he had a stubborn personality, but at this moment, he had to let it go. He had to agree, for if he didn't, he might never get home.

"Hey, other Huey." Dew called out. "How did you know where he was, we've tried looking for him so many times, but we never found him."

"That's easy, I hide under my own bed all the time. Usually to read so nobody can bother me, but lately, it's been to hide from my brothers and their fighting."

"Oh yeah, the fighting..." Lou muttered. "We're sorry about that by the way, it must be hard knowing that your Dewey has a hypertensive heart disease."

"W-wait, what? Heart, disease? What are you talking about Lou?" Huey crawled out from under the bed, followed by his mirror self. He hit his head on the wood under the bed as he crawled out. "Ow.." He muttered as he rubbed his head.

"You mean, you didn't know?" Dew asked.

"No, I didn't know! This better be true, for all I know, you could be lying."

"W-we're not, you seriously didn't know that Dewey had a heart disease?" Alternate Dewey asked, taking a step towards the red triplet.

"No! Have I not made myself clear!? And besides, why would my brothers be fighting over something like that?" He yelled.

"You know how Dewey is, he can't help but be dangerous and risky. He knows he has this disease and still he's not careful. Your Louie got really mad that he wasn't taking care of himself properly, and that's when the fights started." Lou explained.

"Okay, so you're saying that my little brother has a heart disease, and that because he wasn't being careful or taking care of himself, my baby brother got mad at him and that's why they're fighting?" Huey asked, hoping he had gotten everything right.

"Yeah, that's pretty much it." Dew stated, nodding slightly. Huey sat down on the bed and covered his beak, a pang of guilt hitting his chest and a wave of worry and sorrow running through him. Dewey had tried talking to him before he came here. He wanted him to spend more time with his family. He knew that this couldn't be good, and he needed to fix this. Huey needed to fix his brothers, he needed to make sure that Dewey felt loved and he needed to get Louie out of his room and spend time with both of them.

"Huey, are you okay?" Hue asked, sitting down next to him and placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah, I'll be okay. I just can't believe that he didn't tell me...." He replied.

"Well we should probably get to the lab to try and figure out what to do to send you back home. That way you'll be able to take care of your baby brothers, and I'll be able to take care of mine, in this dimension." Huey nodded softly.

"Yeah, okay." He looked up, expecting to see the alternate versions of his brothers still there, but was surprised when they weren't. "Where'd they go?"

"They still have a job to do Huey, but we're lucky that your brothers have someone that can watch over them until you get back, huh? Hue smiled softly, which made Huey smile himself.

"Yeah, that makes me feel a little better, thanks."

"It's nothing Huey, come on, we got a lot of thinking to do before we start planning."

"And then building."

"And finally testing."

"But, how will we know if it works?" Huey asked, looking over at his other self as they began walking back to the lab.

"I have an idea for that, but we'll need your Louie's help with that when we get there."
