"Do you have any idea what you've just done?" Peppy scolded when he drug Poppy back to the pod.
"Dad if you just let me explain."

"No!" Peppy screamed, Poppy took two steps backwards in shock. Poppy was use to Peppy being mad at her, and she was use to the arguments, but rarely did Peppy straight up scream at her like he was now. This was a new form of anger that she had never felt before, a feel of betrayal. "There's nothing to explain Poppy. You've done a lot of stupid things in the past, but even during your worst, I never, never, would of thought you would flat out betray us."

And there it was, the accusation Poppy feared he would get, traitor. "Dad, this isn't how it looks."

"Then what is it then?!" Peppy screamed "You've befriended the animals, the same animals that have killed hundreds of us throughout the years, killed your mother and grandfather. You have dishonored and betrayed your tribe, your family!"

"Dad! please if you just let me explain."

"You know the worst part of this Poppy? Is that I went against everything I believed in to give you this opportunity, because I thought it was something you wanted. I went against it, I went against my fears that you would get killed. I went against all of that because you begged me to give you a shot. And this is what I get for being a good father, for trying to be your friend?"

"Dad, you don't understand."

"No you don't understand. You don't understand how serious of a situation this is. Do you know the penalty for treason here? I could have you banished or even killed for such a crime like this. I have a reputation here Poppy. I am the king of this tribe! I am supposed and expected to uphold the laws of the land no matter who it is! And for my own daughter, who I love and have worked my butt off over the years to commit treason? Do you know how much this hurts me?"

"Well if your going to brand me a traitor you better brand your son as one too because he did the same things I did!" Poppy was instantly met with a slap to the face and if she thought Peppy couldn't look anymore madder he was dead wrong. The look he was receiving now from his grandma could kill even the toughest troll if looks could indeed kill.

"Don't you ever talk about your father like that. He never befriended Animals or betrayed our tribe, and he got killed by these animals you befriended."

"You are wrong on everything you just said dad." Poppy said as she picked herself  off the floor and rubbed her cheek. "They did befriend the animals, and she was never killed by them, the animals took my grandpa and Branch's grandma away from here so they could help free them. And they died trying to save them from slavery!"

"Poppy you are making no sense."

"I've got proof Dad. They are slaves, if they don't get enough food they will become food themselves. Grandpa died trying to free them from that situation. I've been to his nest I saw his body I have proof of this."

"The nest?" Peppy gasped, it was then that Poppy realized she might have said to much. "You've been to the nest, where is it?"

"Oh dad please don't make me do this?"

"Poppy you are in trouble up to your hair, if you want to avoid a treason charge and possible banishment you will give me the location to the nest right now."

"I can't because I didn't find it, Nick did. Only a animal can find the location to the nest." Peppy then straightened up with a idea, and despite not being a professional mind reader Poppy could tell exactly what he was thinking.

"Oh Daddy please no," To late Peppy was already on his way out the door. "Please trust me you can't win this one. There is something else out there, something unlike you have ever seen." Poppy was grabbing Peppy by the arm trying to pull him back but Peppy  was easily overpowering her.

"FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE WILL YOU PLEASE LISTEN TO ME!?" Poppy snapped.

"You have sided with the enemy Poppy." Peppy replied.

"You have betrayed not only my trust but the tribe, and have brought shame to the tribe and your family. You have no say in anything anymore. I will spare you a treason charge and punishment because of my love for you, but that's the only mercy I will show. You have disgraced us all."

If words could kill, Poppy would be dead. As Peppy slammed the door shut Poppy fell to the floor and wept. Traitor, he called her a traitor, and a disgrace. Perhaps he was a traitor, a traitor to the dragons.

She was supposed to save them, bring peace between them and the trolls, but all he did was give the trolls and Bergens  the key to finding them. She wasn't their savoir, he was their doom. She failed.
She buried her face with her arms and sobbed uncomfortably. "I'm sorry, Nick..." Poppy said softly crying.
She lost her mom, her grandfather and her best friend Nick.
