Friends again

"Oh, h-hi. I didn't expect you." My mom said.

"Mom, stop. I'm really trying to help." I said.

"Mom?" Mat's mom questioned. "Safiya?" She asked again. I nodded. "I didn't even recognise you." She added.

"Just come in." I said. Mat's parents hesitated.

"C'mon. Mom, dad. We know what happened and we're gonna show you there was no reason for the fight." Mat said. I nodded at the statement. Then they decided to come in.

"Just talk. There's a lot of better things than fighting." I said. The parents sat down at the table in the dining room. "We'll leave you to it." I added and we exited the dining room. "I really hope this works out." I said. Mat patted my shoulder.

"I'm sure it will. Don't worry." He comforted and we went to my room.

"I guess I'm just really scared that I'm gonna have to move again when I'm finally happy." I said as soon as the bedroom doors were closed.

"It's not gonna happen Saf. I won't allow it. And I'm very sure Tyler won't allow that too." Mat said.

"We don't want you gone either." Steph added. I was so happy they don't want me gone. After a few more minutes we decided to check on our parents. We opened the kitchen and we couldn't be happier. They were having a friendly chat.

"Oh, hey kids." My mom said.

"We just wanted to check on you. To make sure you didn't kill yourself." Mat commented and I hit his arm. He pouted and rubbed the spot for a few seconds but then quickly stopped.

"We are actually having a great time. We wanted to thank you. For getting us to talk. I just now remember how much I missed talking to these people." Mat's mom said and my heart filled with joy. I couldn't be happier.

"So we aren't moving, mom?" I asked.

"No, of course not." My dad answered. I hugged them and went back to my room with Mat and Steph.

"Mission accomplished." Mat joked. We laughed.
