Percy's Pov
I didn't know how long we were falling but it felt like hours now. Annabeth pressed into me as I saw the area around us turn red. Then I could see the bottom not far below. With one quick movement I adjusted my body so that Annabeth was on top. "PERCY PLEASE LET ME TAKE SOME OF THE FALL PLEASE PERCY PLEASE!" I heard Annabeth yell. Then all too soon I felt the ground and searing pain tearing through my limbs. I laid there not daring to move a muscle. I heard Annebeth's voice above me, " Seaweed Brain! Why did you do that!!!! Please Percy please be ok....." I couldn't stand to see her crying but I could feel myself slipping into the dark. And then all I saw was black.
