Surprising Paths

"Sometimes it's tough to chose a path, to find a destination. Don't worry, you will eventually reach the place you are made for. Just like a boat which reaches it's shore, even after a storm."

I turned towards my door and unlocked it, huh what a weird night, I thought. Just thinking about how it happened brought a smile on my face, and unknowing my hands reached towards my lips. I got inside and latched the door.

Even before I could walk towards my bed a knock sounded on the door.

I turned around and unlatched it.
"Aren't anyone going to let me sleep tonight?" I said , guessing that it would be either Liza or Windy.

"I don't wish to, but unfortunately today I can't." I came face to face with with the boy who just took the breath out of me a few seconds ago.

If I would say that I was awestruck , it wouldn't be an understatement. He was standing in front of me in a lose white shirt , wearing his black lose pants and his hair were damp.

It's just been around 5 minutes since we last met and he is already in front of me , he went to his room, took a shower changed into his comfort cloths and came back?

Just a mere 5 minutes? I can't even tie my hair in 5 minutes?

My mouth was hanging open, half because he did all this in just 5 minutes and half because he was looking like the most handsome man in my whole world.

"Umm, hi. How did you manage to come here in just 5 minutes? I just went inside and sat on my bed and there you are , standing here all freshen up?" I said , my eyes ready to pop out.

"Oh , yes.I am a Vajas. Hmm, like you are a Bhu, I am half Vayu and half Tejas. I have powers of both a Vayu and a Tejas. I can fly and I can run fast. My eye colour depicts fire and air.In your language." I looked at him with confusion. It does not matter how much I try to understand this world, it comes back at me.

Guessing my state of astonishment, he continued, "You are going to be here for quite a long time now. don't worry. everything will fall into its place soon." he smiled. and this time a genuine one.

"Okay but please never do that again.What if I got a heart attack next time? I would d..." Ruez clasped my mouth with his hand before I could complete my sentence.

"Don't you dare say that word again."He looked at me with anger flowing in his pupils. "You are mine now,you belong to me."My eyes met his and I got lost in the words his eyes were conveying me.He just said a sentence but his eyes spoke volumes.

"Do you get that?" he asked.I was unable to speak ,not just because his hand was still on my mouth but because of the strange feeling I was having in the pit of my stomach.

I just nodded at him.

"Better, " he removed his hand and kissed my temple. "Good night princess."

"good night, Ruez." I replied . and this time he waited before leaving ,till I closed the door.

That night happened to be just like the nights I have had here , in Elemento, long and sleepless.

That is the very reason I easily drift off to sleep at daytime like I did in the evening.

All I did whole night was to turn left and then right. I was not able to drive the thoughts he had bloomed in my head,thoughts of Maira and that boy with purple eyes.

I stood up from my bed with the first ray of sun coming through my window, dawn was breaking but my sleep was still distant.

I walked towards the window and enjoyed the delightful view in front of my eyes. Mornings have always pleased me in a way nights wouldn't. Mornings at Elemento are even better. Elemento have four moons signifying each element, AIR, WIND, EARTH and FIRE.

But there is only one sun. Presence of once sun over four moons signifies the unity of the four elements and of the people of Elemento.this was explained to me by Liza when I asked her that why there are four moons and just one sun.

I decided to call on my friends, this is early but they usually are here before dawn.

I walked towards the door when my eyes drifted towards the scene under my foot.

Although it was dark enough in the room under mine, but I could still tell that it was Ruez.he was sitting on the floor, his head lying on the edge of the bed.He was sound asleep that I could say.

What was he doing here? In his childhood room? May be he was missing his mother.

I don't know much about his past, but I don't need an explanation to know that he misses his mother more than he shows.

I wonder what were the circumstances that forced her to leave a part of her life, especially her children. I don't know where she might be at this very moment. I didn't know when I sat on the floor my finger tracing his image behind the glass. I now how it feels to be away from ones family, especially mother. it had been just a few days since I am here, but still I cant stop thinking of her.

I thought of my own mother and a tear rolled down my check across my face, hitting the floor.

I shut my eyes with the paining I was feeling, the pain of being away from ones mother.

I heard a crackling sound.I instantly opened my eyes and saw that the glass under me was cracking.

What is happening? Is my wait too much for the floor to handle?

As I was about to stood up from my sitting position, the floor under me started shaking vigorously.

God, what's happening? please don't let me fall on Ruez' s head.

I felt my self sinking down. I noticed that a very bright light was coming out of the cracks. and then at the very next moment, I knew I was going to fall down , fall on him. God please save us both!

When I was sure I was going to fall on Ruez, my body surprised me and hit the floor.

I closed my eyes feeling the pain. I stood up struggling.My back was throbbing with pain and my head felt like it would burst at any moment.

The floor I had hit was very rocky, I am sure my back had a few minor cuts.

Wait, floor? how did I fall here? I thought I was going to fall on Ruez!

Where am I?

When my eyes adjusted to the surrounding, I saw that I wasn't in the palace.Or may be I was?

Where did I fall? This place seemed more like a cave then a palace to me.

I looked here and there and found a corner where a little light was coming from. Without thinking much I walked towards the place where light was coming from. I saw a flame coming from the corner.

I remember from the old movies I had watched back at home, places like this are usually used for secret paths at the time emergencies. I was sure that this path would take me somewhere, may be out.and going was the only way to find out.

Without thinking much I walked towards the end. I hope I will reach at the end in one piece.
