Chapter 14.
Isabella's p.o.v.
For the next few hours I just lay in bed, waiting for 6 o'clock to come sooner than it is, I've already showered and straightened my hair, now I'm just waiting for Zayn to bring me that outfit he was on about. I'm still confused as to how he has clothes that are for one, girls, and two, my size. But I tried not to question it too much, just thankful that I don't have to dig through my pit of comfy jeans and baggy tops to find something presentable.
*Knock*
*Knock*
*Knock*
I crane my neck to the door and see Zayn's head pop out of small gap he created, his checks flushing red when he see's I'm just in a towel.
"Sorry," I mutter, tightening the towel around me as if it will cover more of my body that way.
"U-um it's okay" his eyes aren't focussed on mine, instead they rake themselves down my body, lingering over my legs as he sucks in a breath.
"Eyes up here lover boy," I tease as his cheeks flame up once again, realising I noticed his intense gaze.
"Sorry, I just came to give you this to wear tonight." He moves his entire body into the room and brings in with him a dress bag, with what I assume I'll be wearing tonight.
"Where are we going?" I gape, wondering why I'd need a dress just to eat out in.
"Now that's a surprise," he smirks placing the bag beside me on the bed as I begin to unzip it eagerly, wondering what it is exactly I'm wearing.
As I come to fully unzip the bag I'm struck with awe. The dress itself it purely white, the straps looking as if they would hang off of my shoulders as the torso is engulfed by lace, creating a delicate pattern all the way to the train of the dress, leaving a gap for a slit down my leg. It is gorgeous.
I look up at Zayn seeing him eagerly awaiting my reaction, "Jesus, this is beautiful, thank you." I don't know what to say besides those simple words, I was speechless by the pure beauty of it.
"So, you like it?" He hesitantly pries, looking concerned for my answer.
"Are you kidding me?" I scoff, "I don't like it Zayn, I bloody love it! Now I'm a bit confused as to why you have this but honestly I don't care, it's just amazing." I gush, not being able to hide my excitement as I take it out of the bag, lifting it up against me in front of the mirror, making sure to tuck my towel in so it doesn't slip down.
"Really?" He lets out a breath, looking relieved.
"Really," I confirm, doing little twirls in the mirror as I hold the dress against me, hearing Zayn's chuckles mix with my laughter at the sight of my childishness.
"Now go," I usher him out, desperate to put on the dress. "I'll come downstairs at six." I look at him, as if asking if that's okay.
He nods his head in reliance and looks down at his watch, "Okay, you've got twenty minutes." With that he hurried out of the bedroom, looking as eager as I am to try on the dress.
I slipped it on grabbed a pair of heels and a necklace Zayn put in the bottom of the bag, looking in the mirror as I straighten my hair out and admire the dress, this looks so expensive.

I give myself a final once over and walk towards the door, realising I've been admiring the dress for a little over twenty minutes. I twist the door handle and begin to walk into the hallway.
"O-oh Sorry!" Luke rushes as I bang into his chest, "I didn't mean to barge in like that-"
"It's okay" I laugh lightly as he awkwardly looks down at the floor, scratching the back of his neck. "What's up?" I ask him, tugging at the side of my dress as I suddenly feel bare.
"Oh yeah, so-" he finally looks up at me and stops talking mid-sentence, his eyes scanning the dress as he visibly gulps.
"You okay?" I meekly question, my cheeks heating up at the attention Luke's showing me.
"Y-yeah.." He mumbles, lowly breathing out the word "Jesus" before he seems to bring himself back to reality.
"What did you want me for?" I ask again, giggling at his look of confusion.
"Oh that, well, actually, I have no idea. I've forgotten," he laughs along with me as he weaves a hand through his hair, taking his lip ring between his teeth.
"Well, I better get going, but movies later?" I raise my eyebrows in questioning as he struggles to et his words out.
"Y-yeah of course!" He answers as I smile at his answer, "great, are you alright to find a movie for when I get back, if you let me choose I'll be hours" I laugh, knowing full well that it takes me around 2 hours, 12 trailers and a description of the movie for me to finally pick one I am willing to watch.
"I know, you should never be trusted with making decisions, you'll be grey by the time you've made your mind up," he smirks as I playfully push him by the shoulder, feigning offense towards his comment.
"How rude," I laugh, turning back towards him as I near towards the door, "I'll be back soon, don't miss me too much" I smirk, walking out of the room towards the hallway.
"Bella," Luke calls after me and I turn around, looking back in his direction, "you look beautiful tonight" he says softly, as if only wanting me to hear.
"Thank you," I whisper back to him, my cheeks turning a bright pink colour once again as I turn back to the hallway and make my way down the stairs.
I walk down and make my way to the attaching lounge, looking around for any sign of Zayn but seeing none.
"Callum," I call to the left of me, seeing a mob of brown hair sticking out the top of the sofa.
"Yeah?" He twists his body around the arm of the sofa, cocking his head to the side in questioning.
"Have you seen Zayn?" I look around the room again, not seeing his familiar raven hair.
"He's gone to the car, asked me to tell you to meet him there." I nod in understanding and head out the door towards the car, taken aback when I see Zayn waiting with a bouquet of flowers, him eyes trained to the floor not noticing that I'm right in front of him.
"Zayn?" I get his attention, his head cocks up and his eyes bulge as he visibly swallows.
"Jesus," he continues to stare as I start to giggle. "What?"
"Nothing, it's just that's exactly what Luke said, you boys are too predictable" I laugh along with my words but he doesn't seem to find it funny as his eyes lower to slits and he grumbles out "lets go" and steps into the car.
"Urm- these flowers, I got them for ur- for you" he seems to of shaken off his annoyance but still doesn't reach my eyes as he puts one arm out to hand me the bouquet as the other bends to scratch the back of his neck.
I extend my arm and take the flowers from his grasp, quietly thanking him as I do so.
"So, where are we going?" I chirp, hoping to perk up the general mood inside the car.
It seems to work as a smile etched onto his face, "it's a surprise" he continues to grin, making me feel both nervous and happy.
The rest of the journey is full of me guessing every restaurant I know of and Zayn just laughing out a 'no' at my every attempt.
"It's not Hooters is it?" I finally guess as he pulls onto the side of the road, indicating that we're here. Oh shit, what if I'm overdressed, I mean what kind of restaurant has people in damn dresses?
My worries immediately shifted to awe as we walked into the restaurant, but before I could even take a moment to let it sink in Zayn grabbed my hand as pulled me towards the front desk.
"Reservation under Malik." Not even a second goes by until we are escorted into a separate room next to the main dining area, how could it get better than what I've just seen?
We walk through the double doors and my question is answered, this room is beautiful. Wood encases the floor as brown plush chairs surround the linen engulfed tables, my eyes wander up the pillars that arch over the tables to the ceiling that's surrounded by fairy lights and white roses.

"Close your mouth beautiful, you'll catch flies" Zayn chuckles, lifting my agape mouth up to close it. I playfully swat his hand away and turn to him.
"This is beyond amazing, how did you get a reservation here!" I'm over excited but refuse to contain it, how can I in a place like this?
"I've got my tricks Bella," he smirks, pushing out a chair for me to sit in as he takes the one opposite.
"Here is your menu Sir, Madam." I nod in thanks as the waiter passed me a menu, "would you like to order drinks?" He takes his lad out and looks towards me for an answer.
"Just water please-" before he could even write it down Zayn interjected.
"We'll have two glasses of your best wine" Excuse me? Knowing that the only alcoholic drink I've ever had is a sip of Cider, I know this isn't a wise idea.
"But-" I attempt to interject but end up failing as Zayn replies over me.
"Thank you." The waiter notices the growing tension and mutters a thanks and takes off as I turn towards Zayn.
"I've never had alcohol before Zayn, I just want water." He shakes his head in response, dismissing my irritation.
"So Bella," he stares at me intensely and I become nervous under his gaze, my cheeks flare pink making him let out a chuckle and continue his sentence. "I thought we should get to know each other a little more, I mean you are living in my home and I've barely seen you."
"Yeah, thank you again by the way, for you know. Letting me stay." He waves his hand as if it's nothing but I couldn't be more grateful. "You know, I'm finishing school soon, I'll get a job after that and will be able to move out soon after, I don't want to be too much of a burden." It's true, schools soon over and I can't wait, with my grades I should be able to get a job that's at least better paid than that damn diner-
"No," he abruptly halts my train of thought, "I mean, there's no need to move out so soon, there's no rush." He looks a little...panicked? I don't know, maybe he'll just miss the company?
"Honestly Zayn-"
"Here's your wine," the waiter places two oversized glasses of wine in front of us. "Are you two ready for me to take your order?" My eyes go wide as I realise we haven't even picked up the menu beside us yet.
"No, sorry." I sheepishly tell the waiter-
"We'll both have the lobster risotto, thanks." Does this boy ever let me choice anything? The waiter scurries off once again and I nudge Zayn playfully.
"If I didn't love risotto I would be very pissed right now." He just laughs in response as I sit in the chair with a joking pout etched onto my lips.
The night goes on really well, I learnt that Zayn isn't just an aggressive male but is just not that great at first impressions, that his favourite food is chicken, his favourite book is Harry Potter and his birthday is the 12th of January. We spent the night laughing and enjoying the food with one another, the whole night changed my perspective on him and I genuinely think he's a nice guy.
The meal comes to an end and I thank Zayn for taking me out, we climb back into the car and just enjoy the silence that engulfs us. As we pull up into the house I turn to open the car door when Zayn's arm comes out in front of me to stop my action.
"Bella, I've got something to ask you." I turn towards him and our faces are a lot closer than I thought, but it was Zayn that was meant forward meaning I couldn't make any further space between us.
"Yes?" I whisper, the atmosphere suddenly turning tense.
"Well, I know I didn't come off as great the first few times we met. But I would like to do more night like tonight, you know. I want to get to know you more, I want you." He breaths out, his face getting closer to mine.
"Yeah, I had fun, we should do this more often." I reply, taking a sharp breath once his hand cups my face. I know I'm tipsy from the one glass of wine but if he thinks I'm going to kiss him he should have given me another.
"Urm, I think we better be getting inside, I don't trust those boys alone in the house," I awkwardly laugh, detaching myself from Zayn's grasp as I open the car door and step outside, leaving him frozen in place in the car.
Guilt sweeps over me but I just couldn't kiss him, I've barely had a three civilised conversations with him, and anyway, it was probably the wine in his system.
Luckily the feeing of being a bitch faded away once I opened the front door to see Luke sprawled our on the sofa, looking like he was trying to pick between three movies.
"You still haven't decided?" I giggle, amused that it's taking him this long.
"Hey, this is a very important decision you know," he laughs along.
"Come on then, what's the choic-"
"What are you doing?" Zayn intervenes, his voice raspy as he spat out each word.
"We're picking a movie to watch,"
I state as if it's the most obvious thing.
"Well, you're on my bed, so move." Damn, where did nice Zayn go?
"You can sleep in your bed tonight, I'll probably be up late anyway, I don't mind sleeping down here." I offer.
"No, I can't having you sleeping down here-"
"Honestly Zayn, it's fine. I'm not taking no for an answer. But I will need to quickly go in there now to get changed, but I'll be right out." With that I speed walk upstairs and fish out some pyjamas to wear for bed, I slip on some shorts and an oversized shirt and rush back downstairs.
"Know your place Luke." My feet halt as I hear Zayn's voice booming through the hallway.
"Know my place? We're just watching a movie, clam down." Before I heard a reply there was a thud, sounding as if something hit the wall.
"Watch your mouth." His words were slow and venomous and I could hear Luke's uneven breathing from here. Christ, what the hell was happening.
Shortly after I heard footsteps coming towards me so figured this was a good time to continue walking down the stairs. Zayn brushes past me but before he could leave I grabbed his hand.
"Look, I don't know if your acting like this because of what happened in the car-"
"Just leave it Bella-" he's so damn stubborn.
"No, I won't. I didn't kiss you because we barely know each other, okay. I don't know you Zayn. We need to become friends before anything, don't you agree?" All I got out of it was a stern nod, but his expression seemed to soften up so I took that as a positive. He continued to go up the stairs as I made my way down.
I perched myself on the sofa next to a concerned looking Luke, "he tried to kiss you?" He turned his head towards me with wide eyes, I probably should have been a little more discreet...
"Yes, but no. Nothing happened if that's what your wondering." He just nods his head in response before taking a deep breath and planting a smile back on his face.
"Come on then, we need to pick a movie. I've narrowed it down between 'Don't Breath', 'Triangle' and 'A Quite Place', your decision." He nudges me, fully well knowing I'm not emotionally stable for any on them.
"Lukeee," I wine, "you know that I'm not good with horror movies." He just grins back at me in response.
"I know," he laughs, "but I'm here, so nothings gonna get you" I just groan in response, fully well knowing that I'm not getting out of watching a horror tonight.
This bastard better realise that he's going to have to be my sleeping guard for the next three weeks if this movie creeps me out, in my opinion he's the loser in this situation.
"I don't mind, either way I'm going to be creeped out." He just laughs at my statement and chooses a random one to put on.
"Wait one second," he gets up off he sofa and heads upstairs.
"Hey if this movie starts and your not here, I'm smashing he screen to turn it off!" I yell after him and I hear a faint laugh.
Not even moments later Luke comes downstairs with a quilt and some cushions and I'm mentally thanking him as shorts were not the wisest idea. He throws the quilt over the both of us and seconds later the movie starts, the words 'Get Out' sprawling all over the screen.
Half way through the film I begin to freak out, "that is disgusting, what sicko thinks they can 'own' a girl like damn property?" I spit, half angry and half terrified, covering half my face under the quilt as a method of protection.
"You never know, some girls may enjoy it?" I hope he's joking.
"Enjoy it? She's fucking tied up against her own will! Would you enjoy that?" He ignores my question but I soon get distracted when an intense scene between the main actors start again, where every damn noice scares the hell out of me.
"Come here," Luke's voice whispers through the darkness and I immediately oblige, the movie terrifying me.
I shift my body closer to him until I could feel the heat radiating from his body onto mine, he wraps an arms round me and pulls me closer.
"Don't be scared, it's just a movie." He chuckles and I playfully hit him in the chest.
"It's a scary movie though," as soon as I finish my sentence a squeal escapes my mouth as a fight pans out in the movie, squeezing Luke between my arms as I hide my head in his chest.
"This should not be legal to watch," I mumble into his shirt as one of his hands come down to stroke the top of my head, strangely soothing me.
He hooks a finger under my chin and lifts my head up, "the bad parts over now" I'm not even looking at the TV but I know he's lying from the noise going on behind me, but it doesn't matter to either of us as he lifts my head an inch more until my eyes reach his.
Our eyes lock onto one another and I could feel his breath fanning onto my face, he cranes his neck forward as his other hand tucks a loose hair behind my ear. We both move closer until I can feel his lips brush over mine-
"You're watching a movie? And didn't invite me!" Ashton yells from the hallway, breaking mine and Luke's eye contact as we create space between us as Ashton enters the living room.
