Jungkook's Pov

I woke up at the crack of dawn, Moon still peacefully asleep next to me, her naked form a serene sight. It struck me that it was the best sleep I'd had in months. Leaning over, I gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, savoring the moment.

Careful not to disturb her, I slid out of bed and tiptoed across the room, dressing in silence. Moving quietly, I made my way to the door, pausing for a moment to glance back at Moon, still lost in dreams.

I was sure she was hiding something from me, something I didn't yet know. After scanning the room, I walked out into the living room and then outside. Walking down the porch, I noticed some of the guards assigned to her moving inconspicuously, as they were instructed not to attract attention.

Approaching one of them, I nodded in acknowledgment before asking, "Has anyone visited other than Jimin?"

Both guards looked at me nervously. My brow furrowed as I pressed for an answer. "What—"

"A few weeks ago, sir," one of them began hesitantly, "Miss Lee informed us that someone had been with Miss Yang, but when she arrived at the room, there was no one there. Miss Lee was certain someone had been present. We conducted an immediate search of the area but found no trace."

"Arrange a phone immediately," I instructed, scanning the quiet surroundings. There weren't many houses nearby, and the area remained mostly silent, with a few parked cars. Frustration crept over me as I continued, "You're always here. How could someone have entered the house? What if something happened to her?"

"Sir," one of the guards began tentatively, "the backyard has a large garden with a boundary made of wooden planks. It's possible for someone to break through and enter when we're patrolling the area."

I walked back to the house, deep in thought.

Somebody... Somebody came inside and didn't harm her? She would have told me, or—Kim? Could it be someone from the Kim family?

Jimin's words from yesterday echoed in my mind: "Be careful, the Kims are watching!"

A knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts. I walked over and saw one of the security guys holding a phone. I nodded, took the phone from him, and closed the door behind me.

I dialed Jimin's number, needing to hear everything. How did he just drive me out of work and then yell at me to go to Daegu? I was certain he did something reckless over this. Just then, he picked up.

"Hello, General Officer Jimin speaking—" he began.

"Yes, yes, officer. Now tell me, what did you do?" I asked coldly

I heard him shuffling around with rushed footsteps. "Jungkook!" he whispered urgently.

"What did you do, Jimin?" I asked impatiently.

"I made it look like you were kidnapped," he said in one breath.

"What?" I asked in disbelief.

"Oh, come on. I am an expert," he replied,

"Park Jimin, if you don't tell me—"

"Your father is a madman," Jimin interrupted. "He planned to get another girl and wanted to con the Kims in exchange for something I don't know! Jungkook, the Kims' youngest son is a bloodthirsty sick person. He's out for you! Somebody leaked that Moon is with you!"

Just then, I heard lazy footsteps from the hallway and saw Moon walking toward me with a sleepy face, wearing a silk robe. "Jungkook," she called softly, but I was still on the call.

"So now?" I asked, my eyes fixed on her as she came and sat beside me.

"Now, stay there. Your father thinks you were caught by the younger Kim," Jimin replied urgently.

"What about you?" I asked, gently brushing my hand through Moon's hair as she leaned against my shoulder.

"Man... this just..." Jimin trailed off, his voice tense.

"Tell me," I urged.

He sighed. "Please take care of Moon... I... I..." he hesitated. "I need to take care of something, you know, about my girl... just—"

I was so engrossed in talking and brushing Moon's hair that I didn't process the sudden change until I felt the cold metal of a gun pressing against the back of my head. Moon stiffened beside me. Jimin was still babbling his words, but I was frozen, my heart pounding.
