Chapter 1
After going to all my lessons I head towards my last lesson of the day.
Sitting down in my English class, I look around nervously. I was educated at the orphanage all my life, which was pretty basic. The only good thing is that this is a new class so I won't be new girl.
I take a seat on the back row as that's the only space that isn't occupied. People file in and the girl to my left smiles. I relax.
Class starts and I listen closely, scribbling down as many notes as I can. Ten minutes into the lesson a guy walks in.
His blond hair is flicked and his green eyes dart to the teacher.
"Late on your first day Daniel" the teacher says annoyed.
"Sorry it won't happen again" Daniel replies giving the teacher a smile.
His eyes scan the room and land on me. I'm the only desk that has a seat empty. Sprinting up the stairs, he slides in smoothly next to me.
The teacher resumes and I carry on listening.
"Hi I'm Daniel" he says whispering. I turn to look at him properly. He is fairly handsome in a boy next door way. But not like my Aiden.
"Alessia" I say smiling.
The lesson continues and my phone keeps lighting up. Aidens name constantly keeps popping up, I grit my teeth annoyed and turn it over while Daniel glances at me.
Once class is dismissed I gather my books. Girls giggle and flutter there eyelashes as Daniel passes and I frown at there pathetic reaction.
"Your phone was buzzing quite a lot" Daniel says.
"Yeah sorry about that" I say.
"No worries, listen do you wanna grab something to eat?" he says before I can walk off.
"Listen I don't mean to be forward but I'm already dating someone" I reply smiling.
He flicks his hair from his eyes, "I mean I figured a girl like you would be taken. I just meant strictly as friends. I'm new to this city and I could use a friend " he says smiling.
My phone buzzes again and I flip it open to see Aiden has text me a hundred times. I thought I told him I need space.
I look up at Daniel "I'm not that hungry but I'd love to get a hot drink" I say.
"One hot drink coming up" he says bowing. I smile and follow him out.
As we settle down in the cafe I think of how I forget what it felt to talk to normal people. As he jokes and tells funny stories I realise this is what I need, normality.
It starts getting dark, bidding him farewell and exchanging numbers I start walking towards my apartment.
I freeze when I see a familiar black car parked outside. As I move forward the door opens Aiden strides out looking pissed.
"Where the hell was you and why didn't you reply to my texts?" He says.
"Hi to you too" I say angry.
He pinches his nose in anger. "Can I come in?"
I want to tell him to go but how can I deny him coming in. "Of course" I say.
He waves his driver away and I unlock the door as we both enter. Flicking on the lights I watch Aiden look around. He hasn't seen my apartment furnished yet.
I can tell he's pissed off, just the way he looks is murderous. Determined not to ruin my good day I shrug my jacket and bag off.
He reaches towards me and I step back. We need to talk about our problems not just have sex every time we fight
"Coffee" I ask.
He sighs when I move away "Yes please"
I busy myself with the drinks while I scroll through my phone. Text after text from Aiden that he sent before pings through my phone and I sigh.
Placing the cup on the table I curl my legs on my couch. He sits opposite me staring.
"Why didn't you pick up your phone?" He asks calmly.
"Aiden it was my first day. I was trying to concentrate in class and then I went for a drink with my new friend" I explain.
He rubs his temple and then looks at me. "Do you not realise what we went through? You was kidnapped Alessia. With the type of business I'm in you are not always safe. Would have one text hurt?"
Putting my mug down I move towards him. Standing in front of him while he looks at me still sitting.
"I'm sorry I should have text you to let you know I was safe" I admit. He wraps his arms around my belly pulling me forward he buries his face in my stomach while he holds my hip.
"Who is this new friend?"He asks.
I bite my lip, scared to tell him about Daniel. Why should I not have guy friends?
"Umm there's a guy in my English class, his name is Daniel. We went for a drink" I say.
I feel him grip my hip harder, looking at me I see his jaw tick.
I move away from him and I head to my bedroom as I feels another fight coming on. He follows me.
"Daniel? Alessia you can't hang around with guys" he says angrily.
"It's totally platonic Aiden" I reply as I shift through my clothes pulling a long t shirt out.
"Yeah maybe from your side but probably not his. He probably wants to fuck what's mine" he says as he undoes his tie.
I cringe at his words, " Your disgusting. Just because you think like that doesn't mean everyone else does too" I say.
I get into bed pulling the covers while I hear Aiden fumble about with his clothes. I feel the bed dip at the side of me.
Aiden pulls me so I'm facing him while he lays on top of me. He balances his weight so he doesn't crush me.
"I didn't ask you how your day went" he whispers.
"It was good, it was hard. There's so much to learn" I admit as I caress his hair.
He kisses my wrist as I carry on stroking his hair.
"Don't be mad at me. I hate when we fight"
"I know me too" I say kissing his cheek.
"It was so hard for me today. Being without you, it's like I was missing a piece of myself. Your all I think about" he says.
"I'll always be yours" I say as I look at my ring.
"Yes" he agrees.
He rolls off me. I kiss his mouth and he slips his tongue into my mouth.
He kisses my collarbone where his name is tattooed and pulls me close. We talk for hours before I finally close my eyes.
