One Month Later
Gwen's POV

It's been a little over a month now since Carlisle and I have started dating. He's such a great guy honestly. Still he has not told me their secret, but I have a feeling he will soon.

He has introduced me to his sister, who's the sweetest. Her husband, kept studying me, or watching me but all in all he was polite. Leah and Seth are amazing those two, how can you not like them. The perfect match, one is calm while the other can't stay still.

Dinner at Ms. D's has practically become a regular thing now every Sunday. Jewel has also been present at most of these dinners, as well as a certain Mr. Javier every now and again.

Unfortunately for today, Jewel and Mr. Javier could not join us. Jewel has a date today, so I'm looking forward to hear the details about that. And Mr. Javier had a personal engagement.

Emmett bursts out laughing, his voice e hoping through the whole house. I swear he doesn't need a microphone to speak.

I feel a slight tingle on my right wrist, looking down my birthmark, the lightening beginning to glitch. Mom told me that, it only appears fully when we use our powers, or when in Eltria, but why is it glitching.

Just a reminder of how Gwen's birthmark looks now.

"My first game is this Wednesday, you gonna be there right Emmett?" My head snaps up, and I hide my hand. Luckily no one was looking at me.

"Of course, we gotta be there." Emmett tells him. Edward and Jasper agreeing.

I glance over to Rosalie and Aiden, playing in Aidie's New Toy Corner. Ms. D recently had it set up for him after she redecorated the living room to suit the now bigger family that we have become.

Carlisle and I are on the sofa watching the boys play Crash Nitro Kart. Edward and Bella are sitting on the newly bought love seat, watching along as well. Luis was not able to come over today seeing as he had test papers to correct.

My mark tingles again, and I hold unto my arm.

"Everything okay?" Carlisle asks, looking down at my wrist.

"Yeah. Just a little tingle." He nods, lifting my hand and kissing it. My eyes glance to my mark, making sure it's not there, and smiling at him when I don't see it.

"Come on Emmett take your loss like a man." Jasper tells him, hitting his back.

"Take it wike a man!" Aiden shouts. Causing us all to laugh.

My mark tingles again and I hold it again.

Why is it glitching like this all of sudden.

My eyes meet Jasper's across from me, both staring at each each other

"What are you thinking about?" I look to Carlisle.

"Many things."

Ring Ring!

Reaching for me phone on the coffee table, checking the caller ID I see an unknown number. Hesitant at first but I decide to pick up.

"Hello?"

Carlisle POV

Everything has honestly been going very well for the family. The bond between us growing stronger and stronger.

I have been meaning to tell her about our secret for awhile now. The others as well agreeing that she deserves to find out from us rather than on her own, however she hasn't suspected anything which is good, I'm not going to lie to you. However at the same time, Bella started suspecting Edward earlier on.

Her phones begins to ring, and she picks it up, hesitating a bit before answering it. The boys pause the game, so she could talk.

"Hello?"

"Never answer a unknown number. We spoke about this Darla." I hear a man say. Who's Darla?

"Well did he tell you yet?"

"No he has not." She says glancing to me.
"I didn't think you would actually keep your word." She chuckles.

"Well I did say if he doesn't tell you in one month. I'll tell it for him." I look at her confused. She only smiles back to me.

"Has he figure out who I am yet? If not, I'm very disappointed Carlisle."

"Who-"

"Carlisle Cullen. I expected better from you." My eyes widen in recognition.

"Amun?" I glance at the others, who stopped what they were doing to look at us.

"Yes Carlisle. When were you going to tell Darla,well Gwen,that you are a vampire? Next year?"

I don't think my eyes could get anymore bigger right now.

"Darla my job here is done. When you all finish talk, I'm going to call your phone Carlisle. We need to have a conversation about my Darla. Good day."

"Bye Amun" She says hanging up and resting her phone on the table.

"How...how do you know Amun?"

"I used to live with him." She replies.

"I don't understand? So you knew all this time what we were?"

"For how long?" Edward asks, in disbelief.

"Since the first dinner." I glance at Henry who looked surprised by the news.

I look back to her.

"Why didn't you say anything? Why didn't you leave?"

I couldn't wrap my head around it. So that's why she wasn't suspicious of anything.

"I was waiting for you to tell me. And even though I already knew, it was your secret to tell. And I'm your mate, why would I leave." She tells me.

I've lived through many things, seen many things. However this beautiful woman in front of me continues to amaze me everyday.

"I love you." I blurt out.Her beautiful eyes widen at my confession.

"You don't have to say anything back. I know it's very soon. We've only been together for a month now but over these past few days I couldn't help but to fall in love with you, Gwen Benedict.
And the fact that you knew what we were all this time and still treated us with kindness and care. Welcomed us into your home, trusted us with Aiden and Henry. For knowing of what I am and still choosing to give me a chance."

Cupping her face with my hands. Her blue eyes searching mines, a sparkle in them.
"I love you."

"I...I love you too Carlisle." She says, her eyes filling with tears. I know I've said it multiple times, but her eyes really are so beautiful.

"That was the most beautiful thing, I have ever seen." Ms. D says wiping her tears.
"Foods ready."

After eating we all gather back into the living room to talk.

"How did you meet Amun?" Esme asks.

"It's a long story actually. My birth name is actually Darla Santo and I'm an El. But I'm not only an El, I'm what my kind would call The Elementress." My eyes widen.

"The elementress? What is that?" Seth asks.

"There's a legend that goes, As foretold in generations past, around a time of great chaos, An Elementress will be born of royal blood, to restore the peace to her land and people. She would be the only El to control all four elements." She recites the of folk tale.

I've heard of it before, and Luis is every interested in El's and their genealogy.

"I had no idea of who or what I was until I turned 16. My mom Tessa Santo and I lived in Memphis Tennessee for 16 human cycle years before I gained my powers and we had to move. I was getting ready to leave school when the popular girl came up to me and started messing around. She had this crazy assumption that I wanted her boyfriend. Which I didn't. The only reason we even spoke was because he was my Biology partner."

"Psst. Edward...Biology." Jacob says, winking. Earning a hard glare from Edward and a slap to the back of his head from Leah.

"What happened in Biology?" She asks, and I shake my head.

"I'll explain later. Please continue."

"Okay. So...My emotions were already a ticking time bomb that entire week. Every time I had lost my temper, or had gotten sad, any kind of intense emotion, the atmosphere around me became cold and the sky would darken. And my birthmark would show." She stretches out her right hand, just as a mark appears on her hand.

"That's why you kept holding your wrist?" She smiles sheepishly, nodding.

"It scared me. I tried with everything in me not to blow up on her but she kept nagging and nagging. Honestly some people just don't know when to quit. If I stayed any longer I knew I wouldn't be able to hold back. Even worse the fact that she spoke about my mother, I needed to get out of there. So I ran, if I could just get to the parking spot where I always met my mom,everything will be safe but she caught up to me and they started kicking me. Her boyfriend tried to get her to stop but that just made her even more mad."

"Why are some children so into bullying. It's so horrible." Ms. D says shaking her head.

"I took everything she did, and honestly, I would of gotten up and fight her back but I was so close to losing it.

When she mentioned my mom again, I lost it. I remember the sky became so black. Lighting clashed down and Thunder bombed so loud it shook the ground." I tell them, recalling that day.

"I felt powerful. Heather and her friends all watched me, dropping to the ground in fear. I was wanted to hurt them. All I heard was the screeching of tires and my mom's loud voice."

"We moved immediately. Changing our names and disappearing without a trace. Turned out she already had a house and new identifies prepared for us. How? Amun helped her. My Mom's real name was Honey Willows and my birth mother, the queen of Eltira,gave me to her for protection. Someone had poisoned the Queen,enough to kill the baby. However unknown to them, my birth mother was carrying twins." They all look at me shocked, Rose looked angry.

"They killed an innocent child!" Rosalie angrily says.

"Yes. My twin sister consumed most of the poisoned and passed away, and I was sent away for my protection. She revealed also that I was the Elementress and that she was the chosen Fai who is assigned to protect me."

"But how did you end up living with Amun?" Rosalie asks.

"When we had moved to California,we settled there for about 2 years before Mom had found out about a bounty that was placed to find her. I had suspected that something was up because she was moving very secretive the entire week.

Leaving for hours on end. Then one day, she just busted into my room, frantically packing my things and telling me that we had to leave. Then she teleports us...literally teleports us halfway across the world to Egypt, where I met Amun and stayed with him for a few years. Plus Benjamin has the power to control the elements, so him and Amun trained me. Mom contacted every once in a while to let us know that she was safe, but then 6 months with no word, turned to 2 years, which then lead to 22 years of no contact. We still haven't heard from her to this day." She sadly said.

"Sorry 22 years? How did- are you immortal?" Leah ask shocked.

"I'm not. El's age physically slower than others." She takes a deep breath.

"Okay. When El's are born, we age like any normal human, however when we get our powers at 18, the El aging system begins. When it takes a one year cycle for humans, to age another year,it takes five human cycles, for one El cycle."

"But seeing as I got my powers when I was 16, my aging started earlier. Like when I first met Amun, human years I was 18, but really I was still 16. I had 3 more years before I turned 17, to which I would be 21 in human years. I stayed with him for 24 years that's almost five El cycles. I left to Bakewell when I was 41 about to turn 42 human years, but really I was 21 El years. A baby still to Amun. Stayed in Bakewell four years, plus the three years I've been here, that's 7 humans years. So currently I'm 22 El years, which is 46 human years." No one says anything.

"Plus, El medicine is very advanced so... El's live a very long life."

"Wow." The kids all looked at her in awe.

"No wonder Luis finds you all fascinating." Jacob says and they all agree.

"It's a lot of maths really." She says, shaking her head.

"Luis loves mathematics." Esme says, smiling softly.

"He'll freak when he hears she's the Elementress." Jacob says.

"So what about Henry and Ms. D? I assume you guys know the truth about her?" Alice asks. Looking over at Henry and Ms. D. It is obvious she would tell Henry what she was.

"Well... she adopted me after my mother died. So eventually she would of had to tell me. Not forgetting the fact that I first handedly saw her start triennial rains in Bakewell and had to stop her from lighting up her ex boyfriend's house with lightening." He says like it's nothing, but a few of us chuckle.

"I haven't met Amun and the others in person yet, but I did talk to then over the phone many times." He says.
"I didn't know that you guys were vampires though." I nod.

"Well with little ole me... I'm a Fai."

"The chosen fai?!" Seth shouts.

"Haven't you been listening Seth, she said they lost contact." Leah told him, hitting the back of his head.

"Are you in a hitting mood or something Leah?" Jacob asks her.

"Do you want another one?" She raises her hand again. The rest of us watching along amused, as he looks away from her. Gesturing Ms. D to continue.

"Thought so." Leah says.
Shaking her head Ms. D continues.

"I am a cooking fai. I have the power to cook anything, and everything that I cook tastes absolutely delicious. However even the most delicious of foods can be made a poison if I wanted it to be. Thankfully not many cooking fais have such power to do that. I've only heard of one other like myself and he passed years ago." She says.

"So that's why we were able to taste your food." Jasper says.

"Yep." She replies smiling brightly.

"So you knew as well." I said.

"Yes I did. Gwen and I had a whole conversation about it. We were thinking not to tell Henry, but He would of found out either way." She says, and I nod in understanding.

"Well I guess it's our turn to tell our stories." Alice says.

Gwen's POV

"You mean to tell me all of this happened and Amun didn't tell me anything? So Luis is actually with Renessmae right now?" I couldn't believe all of this took place, and I had no clue of it.

"He really did have work to do. So he said he'll watch her." Carlisle says.

"And the Volturi? They're not going to do anything to me for knowing about your kind right?" Henry asks.

I look to Henry, his words sparking something inside of me. I feel the tingling sensation again on my wrist, but this time intensified. My anger slowly raises at thoughts of someone hurting Henry.

"Gwen c-calm down." Snapping out of my thoughts,my eyes connect with Ms. D's. Her arms were wrapped around body, and she was slightly shaking.

I was confused at first as to why she was shaking until I felt just how cold the room had become. It was freezing.

Immediately calming down, the room returns to it's normal temperature.

"Sorry, I didn't-"

"It's okay." She reassures me, but by the look in her eyes, I knew she thought the same.

I'm getting stronger.
