Cookie Failure
The two boys were finally home. Cas ran up the doorsteps, not even thinking twice of their luggage. Dean, however, lingered behind him. Dean kept looking behind him, paranoid that someone was following them or watching them. He used to get that feeling all the time. It made him feel sick and it sent shivers up and down his spine. Cas looked at him concerned, but Dean put on his best smile for Cas. As he always did, even when he didn't want to. He jogged up the porch steps to stand beside Cas.
Cas swung the door open and yelled, "We're homeeee!"
Immediately their attention turned to the woman with chestnut blonde hair sitting in between Charlie and Hannah. When she turned to look at the two, the boys' eyes widened and they said in unison, "Maddy?"
She smirked, "Hello, boys."
Charlie informed, "Maddy is going to be our wedding planner!"
Dean walked over to her and hugged her as a greeting. She was surprised at first, but gave in to the gesture. She asked, "What's this for?"
He took a step back sheepishly, "It's just-for what you did for me."
She looked to Charlie for a second and then back at Dean. Charlie asked, "What exactly did she do for you?"
Dean was slightly confused now. He explained, "You know-the whole my douchebag of a dad and the frying pan?"
Maddy chuckled nervously, "Oh yes, that, you're welcome."
Dean smiled microscopically and walked to the kitchen with Cas behind him. Dean stated, "Well, that was weird."
Cas shrugged, "Probably nothing. So, do you want some hot chocolate before we unpack the impala?"
Charlie yelled to them, "Hey, boys, if you want to bake some Christmas cookies all of the ingredients are on the counter!"
Dean and Cas exchanged a mischievous look. Dean said, "We're so gonna burn the shit out of these cookies."
"Hey, we'll see, but let's be real of course we are," Cas chuckled.
Cas pulled out a recipe book from the cabinet. He flipped through the pages searching for the sugar cookies recipe. Dean looked over Cas' shoulder and pointed to the recipe. He stated, "Dry ingredients first."
Cas took out the measuring cups. He held one as Dean poured flour into it. Dean blew some of the flour at Cas' face. Cas stared at him, "You did that on purpose!"
Dean smirked, "So? What are you gonna do about it?"
Cas pushed Dean against the counter hard. Dean made a noise from his throat as Cas pressed into him. Cas smirked, while sprinkling flour overtop Dean's head, getting flour all over the floor, sink, and counter. Dean rubbed some flour from his eyes and pushed Cas off of him. He joked, "Bitch."
"Assbutt," Cas replied.
Dean threatened, "Don't make me crack an egg over your head!"
Cas picked up an egg, holding it over his head. He said, "Not if I do it to you first."
He then proceeded in throwing an egg at Dean and Dean picked one up throwing one back. Charlie called to them, "Is everything okay in there?"
The two said in unison, "Yes, Charlie!"
Dean picked up a handful of flour to throw at Cas, but when he ducked the flour hit Maddy who was trying to get a drink from the refrigerator. Dean and Cas instinctively covered their mouths with their hands. Maddy help up her hands and defended, "All I wanted was a drink!"
Charlie walked into the room, "What are you, bitches-"
She stared at the broken eggs along the tiled floor with flour mixed in. She scolded, "May I remind you that the whole damn kitchen isn't the bowl! I'm going to take Maddy home with Hannah. I don't care if you actually bake cookies, just as long as this kitchen better be spotless when we come back!"
Hannah walked into the kitchen and stared at the mess. She commented, "Did you guys frick frack or something in the cookie batter? Because I smell flour, raw eggs, and sexual tension."
Everyone said in unison, "Hannah!" Except Maddy who simply high fived her in agreement.
Cas asked, "Is this part of the pregnancy hormones?"
Charlie glared at him, "Cassie, just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I won't kick your ass."
Cas quickly said, "Okay, okay I'm cleaning, Charles."
The three women left the room and the house. Cas pulled the mop out from the closet and started cleaning the mess, but really adding soapy water to the flour and eggs just made it worse. Dean suggested, "Here grab a bag and I'll scoop the sludge into it."
Cas nodded and did as he said. Besides some flour mixed with soap water on the floor and the flour just about everywhere else, it was semi clean. Cas picked up a towel and started brushing off the counters. Dean saw another towel and smiled as he whipped Cas' ass. Cas turned around yelling, "Hey!"
Dean grabbed Cas' hips and pulled him against his body. Cas put his arms around Dean's neck as they kissed, tasting only flour and "sexual tension" in the process. Dean pulled away, "Flour tastes gross."
Cas chuckled, "I think I like it."
He cupped Dean's cheek and pulled him down for another kiss. Their tongues danced inside their mouths against each other. Dean reached down to the back of Cas' thighs and he lifted Cas onto the counter with him in between Cas' legs.
As they continued to kiss, Dean had that strange feeling again. It was an unsettling feeling as if...as if someone was watching him. He could swear it was real. He abruptly let go of Cas and stared out the kitchen window. His eyes scanned the backyard for any sign of human remains. A face, a foot print in the snow, anything. He saw nothing, but a squirrel climbing a tree. He didn't believe that's all that was out there though. He believed his gut and his gut was screaming that someone was watching them and he needed to keep Cas safe.
When Cas questioned, "What's wrong," Dean immediately returned all of his attention to him again. He lifted Cas off the counter and pulled him into their bedroom. Cas asked, "Did you still want to bake cookies?"
Dean shut him up with a kiss. They laid on the bed kissing over and over again. You would think they weren't even breathing. The thought in the back of Dean's mind didn't go away, he knew that maybe someone was there, watching. He didn't know who it could be, but he knew it was someone. He thought to himself all of the possibilities, never letting go of Cas. What was a better place to think? In the arms of the person you loved, sharing such an intimate moment with.
His thoughts finally stopped when he let go, staring at Cas. His only thought was to keep the love of his life safe at all costs. Cas was the only thing that mattered most to Dean. His safety was a priority. That's what worried Dean most, whether or not Cas was safe with him...
