It is Friday and I am sitting in my last class, counting the seconds until the final bell rings. 10, 9, 8... Daniel and Kaylie are going to meet me by the door and we will all walk to my house. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The bell ring and I shovel my books in to my hands and rush out with the rest of the class.
I throw my homework and a few other things into my backpack before sprinting to the main doors. My friends stand right where they said and I feel relief that they didn't forget. "So how will we, um, test my powers," I ask.
"I don't know... you said the first time you were holding her toy right? My be you have to have something like that," Daniel answers.
I think about this a minute. "But the second time was when I was in the park. And I didn't have anything that belonged to her with me." Kaylie shrugs,"Right place at the right time, maybe?"
We walk back threw the park and stop. " Ya getting anything?" I shake my head," No, I think after she saw whatever it was she ran off."
We resume walking and finally get to my house. I walk in first and see my mom folding clothes and watching some crime show in the living room. "Hi Mom," I call out,"These are my friends Kaylie and Daniel." I look over my shoulder and point them out to her.
"Oh, hi Kaylie, Daniel. Nice to meet you," she says from over the coach and pile of clothes. They wave and say hi. "We're gonna go upstairs and play video games, okay?" Mom nods.
I lead the way upstairs. "Where should we do this?" I ask quietly. "Your sister's room." I open the door and we walk in. I point out the blue bear that caused the first vision. "So, grab it see what happens," Daniel encourages. "When I get a vision thing I kinda black out and fall over."
"So then we sit," Kaylie answers simply. We sit on the floor and Kaylie hands me the bear. I take the bear but nothing happens. I stare at it and wait for something to happen.
Nothing did. "Huh..." Daniel leans over and takes the bear from me. He shakes it up and down then hands it back. "What was that for?" I ask. He shrugs," That's what I do when my stuff doesn't work. Try it now." He shoves the bear at me. I sigh and roll my eyes.
I take the bear and focus my thoughts on Maria. I look around and nothing had happened. I stand up and was going to get something out of one of the other boxes. I reach to open the nearest box when the room spins. I blink and then I am surrounded by darkness. I stumble backward and land on the ground.
I blink and the light fills the room again. I look around. Kaylie and Daniel are gone. "What the..." "Hey," a quite voice calls out. I scan the room again. "Over here." My eyes land on the closet. Through the crack in the door I can see someone. A kid.
"Maria?" I ask in a quite voice. She opens the door a bit more and Maria pokes her face out slightly. " Yes, Oliver. No be quite, they could hear you."
I walk over to the door and crouch so I'm looking up at Maria scared face. "Who could hear us? Where are we?" Maria shakes her head," A monster this is... I don't know what it is, but it isn't home."
I hear a noise outside the door. I stand and turn quickly, ready to protect my sister. "Oliver! Go now!" Maria screams as the door is thrown open. A shadow like figure walks in. It turns and faces me and lets out a low, gurgling sound.
"Oliver!" I hear someone else scream. The shadow walks closer to me I turn to find a weapon and spot a hammer on the dresser. I grab it just just as the shadow swipes it's hand at me. My arm get scratch and it begins to bleed.
I swing the hammer. More screaming, but it's not coming from anyone in the room. It seems far off. I swing again and loose my balance. I fall forward and I'm in the darkness. "Oliver!" The voice says again. Then I'm in the light again. Kaylie was leaning over me and Daniel was backed into a corner.
"Oliver! He's okay." Kaylie had been screaming. "W-what happened?" I ask. Daniel walks out of the corner," You got up and were gonna open that box," he points at a box," then you collapsed on the floor." "Then it got really weird," Kaylie adds.
"Yeah," Daniel continues," the closet door opened and then the bedroom door burst open. And your arm just started to bleed and a hammer went flying across the room and almost hit me in the head."
"Yeah... uh," I begin looking at the bleeding claw marks on my upper arm," I think I did some of that." "What?!" Kaylie and Daniel said in unison.
I look up at them," Uh yeah..."

I explained about what happened when I crossed worlds. "Well that is... wow," Daniel says. "Yeah." Kaylie stands up from where we were on the floor. "Do you have any bandages?" I nod," Downstairs bathroom."
"Do you think my mom heard anything up here?" I ask.  Kaylie looks at me and says," Well, if she did, let's just say the video game got really intense. I'm gonna get the bandages now."
I smile. Daniel looks at me confused," How are you smiling? I almost died. You almost died." I smile more and fight back laughter.
