Ariana's pov

I don't know what's going on, the past few hours are a blur to me. I remember Cole asking me continuously what's wrong but I couldn't answer. I can't speak, it's like my voice won't come out of my mouth. I don't know how we came here, I don't remember but now I am at Cole's place with him and Tiffany sitting on either side of me trying to make out what's wrong with me.

I wanna speak to them but I just can't, I am scared. Did I just lost everything??

I turned towards Cole to see why is he shaking me soo bad. I looked at him to find him staring at me with concern in his eyes.

"Ari... someone's calling you." He said, showing me my phone.

I took the phone from his hands, still shaking. It's the same number, can I answer??? Am I brave enough to??

I just pressed answer and pulled it up to my ears.

"Miss. Williams???" The person from the other side spoke.

"Yes." I forced myself to say a yes.

"I am sorry but we tried to contact with the pilot and even investigated but the plane crash was very severe and we couldn't find any human remains. I am sorry to announce but we are sorry for your loss." He said, sympathy dropping from his voice.

I am too numb to react. I just disconnected the phone and placed it beside me. I am calm, incredibly calm, it's scaring me too. I don't know what I want to do. Do I wanna cry?? Do I wanna scream??

I don't know. I just lost the only family I had.

"Ari are you ok?? Please say something, you're scaring me." Cole said bringing me back to realization.

He want answers. I will give him then.

"I lost my only family. I am an orphan now." I replied, my tone cold as ice.

I just stared ahead of me, tears won't come out. I can't cry, I can't scream, I can't speak. I feel void inside me. I am suffocating, it's hard to breathe. I just stayed in the same place, starting into nothing.

Cole's pov

" I lost my only family. I am an orphan now." Ari's words keeps running in my mind.

She's staring into blank space with no emotions on her face. She's incredibly calm, it's scaring me. I still don't understand what she meant by her sentence. I picked up her phone and copied the number in my phone. I stood up from the couch to go outside to make the call. Tiff looked at me with worried expression, I just gestured her to stay here with Ari. She nodded and I went to the backyard.

I dialed the number and waited for the other end to pick up.

"Hello?? How can we help you??" The man from the other end spoke.

"Hey, I am miss. Ariana William's friend. Can I know what is wrong as she is behaving very strange after this call." I said in a calm tone.

"Sorry mr ??" He asked.

"Cole, Cole Stevens." I replied as fast as I can.

"Sorry mr. Stevens but we are not allowed to inform anyone else other than family members for now." He replied in a calm tone.

"I am like a family you can tell me. " I said with a serious tone.

I heard him sigh in the other end. After a long pause he finally spoke.

"The flight miss. Williams parent's were in crashed on its way back today afternoon. The crash is very bad and we came to a conclusion after investigating that unfortunately no one survived it. We are sorry for your loss." He replied with a soft voice.

I didn't replied. My phone slipped from my hand and fell into the grass.
My hands are shaking, is this true?? Is Ari's parents??

I don't know what to do. I can't even understand what she's going through, she just lost everything, her only family. The thing which scares me the most is she's extremely calm. She's not crying, not screaming ,nothing as if she's done. She's void from inside, she finally broke. She is broken. I don't know how long I am standing here when I felt someone touching my shoulder. I turned around to see Tiff looking at me with a worried expression.

"She lost everything Tiff. She lost her parents." I said to her.

"Omg." Tiff replied slapping her hands over her mouth as tears escaped her eyes.

I looked up to see snow flakes falling on to my face. It has started snowing.
I looked at Tiff who is trying to control her tears. She didn't questioned me more, just picked up my phone from the grass and gestured me to come inside as it's snowing now.

I went inside, Tiffany by my side. I walked up to the couch to see Ari still in the same spot staring outside the window. I took a seat beside her in the couch as I wrapped my arms around her shoulder. She didn't push me away, she didn't reacted at all.

"Ari?? I know it's difficult for you but you have to understand we can't do anything about it. I am sorry Ari, I am so sorry. Please don't block me out." I said to her.

Her silence is killing me. I want her to cry , to scream but to do anything. She is just silent like she's not here anymore, like she's gone.

After a few minutes of absolute silence finally she broke down. She turned to me and hugged me wrapping her arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around her and let her sob in my chest. She continued crying, her face buried in my chest. I can feel her tears through my shirt.

"I lost them Cole, I lost my family. I lost my hope my everything. I don't have anyone to live for Cole no one." She said sobbing into my chest, her voice came muffled.

"You have me Ari, I won't leave you ever I promise. I can't say I feel you because I can never feel the pain you're going through but I promise to be with you through this. I promise I won't ever leave you." I said rubbing her back trying to calm her.

I said I can't exactly feel her pain whereas I can, I always have. I can feel her happiness, her pain her everything. I can feel her heart broken into thousand pieces, I can feel her loneliness. I can feel her.

She stopped sobbing and looked up into my eyes.

"You promise?? I lost everything Cole, I can't afford losing you too." She said tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I promise."I replied wiping a tear from her cheek and kissing her forehead.

She snuggled back into my chest. I held her close, I don't want to let her go, not now not ever.

I looked at Tiffany, she just smiled and went to her room I guess. I can tell she's sad too.

Tomorrow is Ari's 18th birthday, tomorrow she should find out about everything but now I am not sure. We don't have much time but this girl already went through so much, I wonder if she will be able to digest the biggest secret of her life.

I kissed the top of her head as I hugged her close. I don't know what will happen but I promise to stay by your side Ari.
