The next day Marinette was late for school again. She stumbled into class and took her seat next to Alya. Adrien smiled at her and Marinette smiled back. 'Good morning miss Dupain-Cheng, what is your excuse this time?' her teacher asked. 'I eh... Overslept?'
'Nice try Marinette, you have a detention today.'
'But I can't!' Marinette said. 'And why can't you?'
'I have eh something to do. Something really important.'
'And what might that be?' her teacher asked annoyed.

Marinette sighed, she couldn't tell her teacher what she was really going to do. And she couldn't miss her date with Adrien, even though she hadn't asked him yet. 'I have to help my parents at the bakery.'
'That's a bad excuse, you're staying Marinette and that's final.'

Marinette sighed. The rest of the time she sat with a grumpy face in class. When it was finally break time she went to Adrien. 'Hey.' she said. 'Hey.' he answered. 'I was wondering if you want to hang out today?' Marinette asked. 'Sounds like a great idea! But don't you have a detention?' Adrien asked. 'No, I mean eh yes. But I'll figure it out!'
'Well if you do, then yes, I would love to hang out with you.'
Marinette knew that Adrien was her boyfriend, but she still started fangirling in her head.

When the break and school were over, Marinette stayed behind in class with her teacher. 'Can I go to the toilet please?' Marinette asked. 'Yes, but you have to come back.'

Marinette didn't respond because she knew she wasn't going to come back so she just left class. When she was about to leave school, someone grabbed her arm. It startled her, but when she saw who did it she didn't mind anymore. Adrien was looking at her. 'Let's go.' he said. 'Let's go!' Marinette repeated.

'Can we go to the other side of the Seine?' Marinette asked. 'Good idea.' Adrien answered. He didn't ask why because he knew Marinette - Ladybug - wouldn't have an answer.

Finally they arrived at the other side. They sat on a bench, looking at other people and talking. Marinette was looking for suspicious things, but also for people who might look like Cat Noir. If he wouldn't have known that Marinette was Ladybug then Adrien would've thought that Marinette was behaving suspiciously. 'Good idea.' Marinette said, she stood up and waited for Adrien to do so too. 'I thought you had an obsession with Ladybug.' Marinette said. 'At least that's what I heard.'
'I did, to be honest I still kind of do, but I like you more.' Adrien said. He wouldn't have said that if Marinette wasn't Ladybug. Marinette on the other hand liked Ladybug more. 'Are you sure? I mean Ladybug is supercool. I'm just an ordinary girl with no special abilities.'
'Ladybug is supercool, but so are you Marinette. You're not an ordinary girl to me and you definitely have special abilities.'
'You think so? Thank you Adrien.'
'No problem.' Adrien said, almost adding "m'lady" to it.

An explosion sounded and they both looked into the direction of the sound. Paint came from everywhere. They both thought of a way to transform without being seen by each other or anyone else for that matter. Adrien took Marinette's hand. 'We can do this.' he said.
