Question: Why doesn't the dragon hurt the boy?

Why do I get excited over things like this?

The reason the dragon doesn't hurt the boy is because of three things.

1: The dragon was alone and hurting. He didn't want to hurt a potential friend.

2: He saw the boy's condition and didn't want to damage him more.

3: Because he knew what the wilderness would do no matter what he did unless he saved him.
