15. The Other Side Of The Door.
Cam.
Cam watched as Seth moved the ice wrap away from his mouth as his uncle who was a doctor wanted to check his mouth. Seth's uncle left Seth's upper lip up a little, “Jeez, cut your top lip on the inside with your own teeth, looks like a snake tongue. I can't even lift your lip up any more or it might make it crack open more.”, he said, putting Seth's lip down. “How do you fall down a pair of stairs, Seth?”
“It was a lot of steps.”, Seth said, bring the ice back up to his mouth. “Look, just tell me what I have to get? Stitches?”
“Yeah, you have to.”, he said.
Seth groaned and scuffed, “That'll leave a scar.”
His uncle grabbed a clip board and wrote some stuff down, “Sounds like a personal problem, Seth. Don't worry, you got mine and your mom blue eyes. They'll distract girls from the scar.”
Seth scuffed, “Is that suppose to help make me feel better, Uncle George?”
He shrugged, “It was a try, I'll be right back to numb your lip up and we can start.”, he said, walking out of the room.
Seth wait until the door was shut up and sighed, “Nat much stronger then I expected.”, he scuffed, checking the bloody wet rag. “Gotta give him props for those punches.”
“I can't believe he punched you—okay, I can.”, Cam said when Seth gave her a 'whatever' look. “I'm surprise he last that long before doing it.”
“Yeah, me to. I was just waiting for it.”, he said.
“Why'd didn't you tell your uncle you got in a fight?”, she asked, confused. “Lot of people saw it, he'll know you would be lying.”
“I don't need legal stuff being brought into this.”, he said, looking away. Cam can only imagine why he doesn't, Nat would probably bring up Seth using drugs. “I should have fought harder.”, he said, more to himself.
“Well I would say you did fine but I didn't want either of you to fight.”, she said.
“So I was just suppose to let Nat get away with punching me? I don't think so.”, he said.
“Okay!”, she said, getting frustrated. “I just didn't want this to happen, Seth.”
“Maybe you should have just gotten over Nat.”, he said coldly, making her look at him in shock with her mouth open a little. His eyes widen then, “Oh, God, Cam—wait!”, he said, getting up from the bed when she turned to leave since she knew this wasn't going to end well.
He grabbed her arm, stopping her, “I'm sorry, I just a little frustrated. I didn't mean to take it out on you.”
She turned around, “I can't help what I feel.”
“So you really do love him still?”, he asked, looking hurt and trying hard to mask his anger. “Why? You guy dated two years ago, you were just fourteen.”
“Actually, it would be three soon.”, she said. “And somebody got in our way, Nat means a lot more then you think you know Seth.”
“How?”, he asked, shrugging. “Nat's a total jerk.”
“You don't know the other side of him, I know what he's really like.”, she said.
“Did you forget he was the one that did this to me?”, he asked, pointing at his face. “The guy violent.”
“I'm not saying what Nat did was right because it wasn't.”, she said, snatching her arm back. “Nat may appear like the bad boy in the media, but I know the true Nat.”
“What about me?”, he asked and she just got confused. “Do you know the true me, how I really am?”
“I don't know, Seth. One minute I see that sweet country guy but then I see the guy who hangs out with guys like TJ.”, she said. “I haven't known you long enough, I guess.”
“Cam, please.”, he said, then hissed as he brought his hand up to the side of his mouth where his cut was. “I'll stop, I promise. I know I can't give what Nat can, he can shower you with everything while I can't.”
“Seth, don't do that.”, she said. He was only making her feel guilty by saying that and she'll fall for it, ending up back with him when she's confused with her emotions. “I care as much for you as I do for Nat.”, she said and he put both hands on her arms, moving real close to him so she would have to look up at him.
“I can't make you choose while he's here, huh?”, he asked and she shook her head. “What if I can prove I can be a better guy.”
“I don't know.”, she said. “I just really want to be alone right now. I don't want us back together if I still have feelings for Nat, it's not far to the both of you.”
“I know, but maybe if—“, Seth was cut off when the door opened and his uncle came back.
“Sorry to interrupt the conversation.”, he said. He then looked at Cam, “Some people get a little sick while watching, so I would suggest you should wait out in the lobby.”
“That's okay, my friends are on their to pick me up.”, she said.

Cam was making her mom make dinner by making the salad. Her mother hadn't talked to her about her relationship problems which Cam thought was a little weird since her mom was always there to ask her and Cam would usually talk to her but she hasn't ask her about anything. No advice. Maybe it was because her mom was going through her own problems right now.
The door to the house opened and closed. My dad walked in with a bunch of roses in his hands, making Cam mouth open. They were her mother favorite—white roses with pink tips. They were beautiful all bunch up in a dozen.
“Dinner should be rea—“, her mother cut herself off when she turned around from the stove and saw them. She looked speechless as she went over to the island table and picked them up, “Mine?', she asked, looking up at her dad who was smiling.
“Yeah, your favorite.”, he said.
“You haven't gotten my flowers for a long time. They're beautiful.”, she said, touching the petals. She then looked up from the roses and gave him a look, “What did you do?”
Her father looked taken back by her question, “What? Nothing, I just thought you would like them. I want to start buying them for you all the time like I did when we were young.”
“Oh.”, she said, looking back down at them. “Well—their nice. Thanks.”
Her mother walked over to the cabinet in the kitchen and grabbed a vase. It was dusty since her mom hasn't used it in awhile so she went over to the sink to cleaned it. Cam walked over to her dad and chuckled, “Nice move.”
Her dad just gave her a side smile and bumped his shoulder into hers.

Nat
Nat closed his eyes as Cam's voice mail spoke to him. It had only rang once this time before she ended the call. He had called three times yesterday but she hadn't answered. This morning he tried two time but nothing. It was three o'clock and nothing. He expected her not to answer, but nothing hurt with trying.
He opened his eyes and clicked the red button. He wasn't sure what he was going to do today, he had planned to go surprise Cam with going to her house and just spend the day with her, but it looked like that was ruin.
He stared up at his ceiling, just thinking. Maybe this was a bad idea, coming back. Maybe he should just give up and go back to LA. Normal was out the window, he knew he could really never have a normal life again. Maybe getting Cam back was to much to ask for. It was either have a normal life or have Cam, he apparently couldn't have both.
He wishes he would have waited to start his career. He thought he was ready at fifteen, but he wasn't now that he realize.
He turned his head and looked at his guitar. He picked that guitar out when his manager took him into that guitar store and he picked the classic black one. He could have anything, but it was the black one with his name engraved on it. It was his baby at the time, he knew he would always protect it.
But music was losing interest now.
He got up from the bed and grabbed the damn thing. He walked out of his room and went downstairs. His parents gave him a confused look as he walked over to the door and outside in the rain. He went off the porch and before the voice inside his head could stop him, he smashed the guitar.
He tossed it behind his back and with a grunt, tossed it forward and made a loud impact noise. He kept hitting the ground with his guitar until it was all in but little pieces. He was getting soaked by the rain but he didn't care. He was getting all his frustration out by doing it, it was making him feel better by destroying his guitar.
“Nat! What are you doing?”, his father yelled as he ran off the porch and grabbed his son arms.
“I can get a new one.”, Nat said. “I can have anything I want.”
“Nat, are you high?”, he asked, looking at him closely.
“I mess everything up, dad.”, he said. “Everything I touch, I ruin. I wanted to be a rock star so bad, I have to pay now. Screw that guitar, it's not worth it!”, he said as he started stomping on the broken pieces of his guitar. “My family, friends, even Cam! All because I wanted to play music.”
“Nat, stop! You love music, I can see it.”, he said, pulling Nat away from the pieces. “I let you go off because I knew it made you happy. Your living your dream, people are listening to your work.”
“But where did it get me? In the hospital, you hate me, I don't even know my own sister anymore, everyone hates me in school, and Cam doesn't even want me.”, he said.
“Nat, I don't hate you.”, he dad said. “Your my son, of course I love you. I just don't like the decisions you make sometimes. Your young though, I keep forgetting that. You got a lot of people who love you here.”
“Then why do I feel so alone?”, he asked. Nat wasn't sure when was the last time his dad and him had a real conversation without an argue. His dad was listening to him for once.
His dad sighed, “Nat, your just blind. Your mom and I have been here. You think if we didn't want you back we would have have never let you move back in? Your sister talks about how proud of a brother she has and hopes she'll be great as you to her friends, she never once said she only love you because your famous.”, he said. “Now, can we please go back inside?”

Nat wasn't sure how long Rob had been lecturing his ears off about Friday. Nat had to say 'yes' and 'yeah' a few times here there to act as if he was listening to him. He swears he could feel his ears bleeding and he badly just wanted to hang up on Rob.
Damn, I bet it's going to be less painful when my parents find out, he said. It was hard to admit he was more worried about Rob finding out since he holds Nat's life in his hand.
“We'll release a song from your album.”, Rob said, catching Nat's attention.
“Huh?”, Nat asked.
“Nathaniel Bynes, pay attention!”, he said. “I said the only way to try and let this pass is to release a hit. We'll post Angel on a Boardwalk up on YouTube and let it go on from there in a few days. In two weeks you and the guys will come to Florida and we'll make a video. We'll act like this never baby drama never happen.”
“Rob, Bieber had a hard time when the chick claim her son was his. How will it be easy for me.”, he asked.
“Well luckily your not as famous as Bieber. Just be ready in two weeks, no excuses.”, he said. “Understand?”
Nat rubbed his head and sighed, “Yes, Rob, your the boss.”
After Nat hanged up on the phone, he looked at a picture of him and the guys on his dresser. KC and Kyle had decided to jet off to Italy, so he hasn't heard from them in the last two weeks, probably party away as much as they can until tour comes in two months. Dan was off living his own life with his friends he had made in school.
And here he was, waiting in his room for Cam to answer her phone.
