Chapter Ten
The bell rang and Max noticed Preston was still asleep. He went to walk out, but paused, looking back at the dramatic teen. "Should I...?" he thought.
He sighed in defeat and crept up to the sleeping male. He nudged him a bit. "Preston."
"What-?" His head shot up and he looked around. His gaze stopped on Max. "Yeah, what's up?"
The shorter one rolled his eyes. "The bell just rang, get your ass up," he grumbled. With that, he walked out of the classroom, not waiting for a response.
He was halfway down the hall when he heard Preston yell "Thanks!" from behind him. He smirked and kept walking, dreading algebra class.

"Max! Cmon, I've gotta tell you something!" Nikki giggled, dragging the poor boy to a table.
"If it's what I think it is, I'm going to kill you," Neil threatened. The black haired teen snickered. "If Neil's threatening to do something, it's gotta be good. Spill it, Nik."
She grinned. "Ok, so get this: Neil has a crush on Harrison."
"I do not," he growled, stabbing the styrofoam tray. "I don't know where you got that idea from."
Max raised an eyebrow while Nikki gave him an unimpressed look. "It's kinda obvious."
The brunet scoffed. "How?"
She rolled her eyes. "You claim to hate him, yet you still talk to him. You initiate a majority of your conversations with him. You seat near him though you don't like him, and you get flustered when he flirts with you."
Max stifled a laugh at the look on his friend's face. Neil looked like a deer caught in headlights.
Nikki smirked with satisfaction and turned to face the other male. "So... Do you like anyone Max?"
He sighed, giving her a look. "Nikki, it's day fucking two. Things don't happen that fast."
She opened her mouth to object, but Neil shook his head at her. Slowly, she closed it and allowed the subject to be changed.
"It is possible, and he knows it," she thought, taking a bite of her food. "Is he choosing not to? And if so, why?"
