Chapter 9: Bonded Beginning
Pinkie Pie's POV
As Rarity and Applejack arrived together; I watched them approach as we gathered outside, my excitement bubbled over. Rarity and Applejack together? Perfect! It was the ideal setup for what I had planned—a sleepover that would be cooler and more fun than any ordinary one. Time to get this party started! My mind was buzzing with ideas. I eagerly launched into an explanation of my plans, watching their reactions with bated breath.
"We're... having a sleepover in a hotel... and we have to choose separate partners in separate rooms?" Rainbow Dash's voice trailed off, as though struggling to comprehend the concept. Haha! I could sense the disbelief in her voice.
"Yep! It's going to be a sleepover extravaganza, and I've got a stash of bits to make it happen! The ultimate gathering of best friends!" I exclaimed, my eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. However, as I scanned the faces of my friends, I noticed a mix of shock and doubt. The smile on my face faltered. "No...?" I whispered, feeling a hint of uncertainty.
Rarity and Applejack exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of shock and doubt.
Applejack, ever the supportive friend, spoke up, her voice laced with encouragement. "Well, it doesn't sound half bad, Pinkie. I reckon we could give it a try."
Rarity, always the connoisseur of elegance, adding weight to my idea with her approval. "Darling, it sounds positively fabulous! A sleepover in a hotel? How marvelous! I'm in."
My heart swelled with relief as their words lifted my spirits. I turned to Twilight, hoping for her response. Our interactions had become less frequent since she took up her role as a library assistant, and I wished to bring back the closeness we once shared.
A profound ache consumed me, the longing for her presence intensifying with every passing moment. Her smiles and laughs, once a constant in my life, now felt like precious treasures lost to time. The memory of her blushes, the way her cheeks would turn a delicate shade of pink, enchanted me beyond measure. And oh, how I yearned for the sight of her beautiful, serious face as she immersed herself in her studies, her determination a beacon of inspiration. I missed everything about her. Deep down, I confess... I love her.
Twilight finally spoke up, her words stumbling out, "Y-yeah, it sounds fine! Staying in a hotel? That's got to be cool!" A wave of relief washed over me, and I let out a relieved "finally." Her chuckle warmed my heart, filling me with joy.
"Twilight..." Rainbow Dash interjected, a mischievous glint in her eyes. We all turned our gaze towards her, eagerly awaiting her playful remark.
"Not as cool as me, though," Rainbow Dash added playfully, and we erupted into laughter, the tension dissipating. I cherished these girls with all my heart.
"W-well, yes, I don't think it's a bad idea... I mean, we haven't exactly been spending much time together lately," Fluttershy whispered loudly, her words carrying across the room. We nodded in agreement, acknowledging the truth in her statement.
"I agree," Applejack chimed in, her voice filled with conviction. The unanimous nodding of heads hung in the air, sealing our decision. A wide grin spread across my face, a testament to the bond we all shared.
"Alrighty then, let's pick partners by choosing a paper from this hat," I suggested, unveiling a hat filled with neatly wrapped papers. "Each paper has a different name, and that will determine our sleepover buddies for the night!"
Excitement and curiosity filled the room as we gathered around the hat. Anticipation crackled in the air as I reached in and pulled out a wrapped paper, feeling a thrill of anticipation run through me.
"Okay then...! My partner is... Applejack!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, her voice brimming with playful enthusiasm. Applejack chuckled heartily, their camaraderie evident as they gravitated towards each other, deep in conversation.
"My partner is... Fluttershy!" Twilight announced, her smile radiating pure delight. Fluttershy gracefully made her way to Twilight's side, their voices blending in whispered harmony. My gaze couldn't help but be drawn to Twilight, captivated by her warm smile, which had the power to light up any room.
"And that means, my partner is obviously you!" Rarity declared, nudging me with a burst of excitement. I cheered back with the same energy.
"Now then, my dear friends!" I began, capturing their attention.
"Let the sleepover..." My words were abruptly cut off as the girls shouted in unison, their voices brimming with excitement.
"BEGIN!!!" they exclaimed, their enthusiasm contagious. I loved these girls with all my heart.
We dispersed, heading home to pack our suitcases. Thankfully, their parents were all on board with the plan, and later we reconvened at my place, loading our suitcases and belongings into the van. Our destination: the illustrious Equestria 6 hotel.

Rarity's POV
As we stepped foot inside the glamorous hotel, Pinkie Pie took charge, engaging in a lively conversation with the motel assistant. With a sense of anticipation, we followed the assistant to our respective rooms: Applejack and Rainbow Dash in room 217A, Fluttershy and Twilight in 217B, and Pinkie Pie and I in 218A.
Although I secretly wished to be with Applejack, I decided to surprise her later. Hehe, a little mischief never hurt anyone. We were about to head to our rooms when Pinkie Pie suddenly halted our progress.
"Wait!" Pinkie exclaimed, causing us all to freeze in our tracks. We turned to her, curiosity etched on our faces.
"What's up?" Applejack asked, a puzzled expression on her face.
"I'm the boss and the sleepover guide leader! Let me walk you through the plan for the next three days!" Pinkie Pie declared, her words tumbling out in rapid succession.
"Hold your horses, Pinkie. Slow down! I can't understand a lick of what you're sayin' when you're speakin' at warp speed," Applejack interjected, struggling to keep up.
Haha, Pinkie was definitely going at a breakneck pace. I reminisced about the days when she was considerably more reserved, speaking only to her close friends and remaining quiet at school or in public. But now, I had grown accustomed to her rapid speech. Pinkie had burst out of her shell, and I cherished every moment of her vivaciousness.
"Alright, alright!" Pinkie Pie finally slowed down, her enthusiasm still palpable.
"Today, once we finish unpacking and settling into our rooms, we'll gather in the hotel lobby for a thrilling game of Truth or Dare! We'll reveal our deepest secrets and engage in daring challenges that will keep us on our toes. Afterward, we'll embark on an exploration of this magnificent hotel, its corridors holding untold mysteries and surprises. Perhaps we'll stumble upon a hidden treasure or uncover a secret passageway!" Pinkie beamed so brightly to the corners of her cheeks, scanning our reactions.
"And let's not forget about the pool—where we can make a splash and create memories that will last a lifetime. As evening sets in, we'll indulge in a delectable dinner, savoring mouthwatering dishes and sharing laughter-filled conversations. Tomorrow, we'll embark on an exhilarating adventure to Equestria World, the nearby theme park that promises thrills beyond our wildest imaginations. We'll soar through the skies on roller coasters, indulge in fluffy clouds of cotton candy, and revel in the joy of being together. The following day, we'll treat ourselves to a pampering spa day at the hotel's luxurious spa.
"We'll bask in relaxation, savor soothing massages, and emerge rejuvenated. And in the afternoon, we'll gather for a fancy tea party, complete with exquisite treats and elegant tea sets. It's going to be a sleepover to remember!"
We all ultimately nodded, our eyes sparkling with anticipation for the incredible adventures Pinkie had laid out for us. It sounded like an absolute blast, and I couldn't wait to spend this special time with my beloved friends.
"Sounds absolutely fabulous, Pinkie!" I exclaimed, my voice filled with genuine excitement, and the rest of the girls echoed their agreement.
"Okie dokie, it's on!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement and enthusiasm. The anticipation of our sleepover plans had reached its peak, and Pinkie couldn't contain her joy any longer. With a wide grin on her face, she announced, "Tomorrow, we'll head to the pool for a refreshing swim. We'll play all sorts of fun games, have an epic pillow fight in FS's room, and to top it all off, we'll attend a thrilling college party late at night!"
Her words filled the air with an electric energy, and I couldn't help but jump up with excitement. A party?! The mere thought of it sent waves of exhilaration through my entire being. My heart raced, and my mind swirled with thoughts of music, laughter, and dancing.
"A PARTY?!!" I shouted, my voice echoing with pure delight as I bounced up and down in anticipation.
However, as my exclamation filled the room, panic began to wash over me. The atmosphere suddenly shifted, and I noticed the girls, including Applejack, glaring at me. Applejack, in particular, folded her arms and gave me a puzzled and slightly annoyed expression.
Realization struck me like a bolt of lightning—I hadn't mentally prepared for a fancy dress code! I had naively assumed it was just a normal and casual sleepover. Clearly, I had been mistaken.
But I couldn't let this setback dampen my spirits. After all, I am Rarity Belle, and I always have a plan. I may have been caught off guard, but I knew I would figure something out. I held my head high, knowing that I possess the elegance and style to handle any fashion dilemma.
"I'm sorry..." I quickly apologized, feeling a tinge of embarrassment for interrupting the flow of the conversation. The girls turned their attention back to Pinkie Pie, their curiosity piqued by her plans for the sleepover.
Pinkie continued to detail the schedule, handing out papers to each of us. She emphasized that while there were planned activities, we would also have free time to enjoy at our leisure. This sleepover was a gathering of friends, a chance for us to reconnect after not spending much time together lately.
As Pinkie spoke, I couldn't help but notice a brief glance exchanged between her and Twilight. Ah, what do we have here? A crush, perhaps? My mind playfully entertained the idea, already plotting to ask Pinkie Pie that very question during a rousing game of Truth or Dare.
With the schedule papers in our hands, we made our way to our respective rooms as the girls approached to theirs. I took in the surroundings—a neat and tidy square room. A sense of awe washed over me, accompanied by a surge of anticipation for the night ahead. The room, though modest in size, exuded an aura of pristine elegance. Its square layout boasted meticulous organization and cleanliness, leaving no space wasted.
Nestled in the heart of the room, a large flat-screen TV commanded attention, positioned gracefully between two impeccably made beds. The beds, adorned with crisp white linens, invited weary travelers to indulge in a well-deserved rest. Their strategic placement, offering a sense of privacy and personal space, ensured a peaceful night's sleep.
Taking a moment to appreciate the thoughtful amenities, I noticed a row of hangers adorning the closet, serving as guardians of our carefully chosen attire. The inclusion of such a simple yet essential feature emphasized the hotel's commitment to providing a seamless experience. Adjacent to the closet, a compact yet functional bathroom stood ready to cater to our needs, its clean and well-maintained space promising convenience and comfort.
Eager to settle in, I began unpacking my belongings with a sense of purpose. Each garment I carefully removed from my suitcase held its own story, a tale of elegance and style. Amongst them, a short black dress captured my attention—a stunning creation featuring a mesmerizing gradient of strawberry hues cascading down its hem. Its design, a testament to my creative prowess, exuded an air of sophistication and appeal.
As I delicately hung the exquisite dress in the closet, my mind wandered momentarily, contemplating Applejack's potential reaction to my choice of attire. Aware of her protective nature, I couldn't help but wonder how she would perceive the elegance and allure of my ensemble. Nevertheless, our unwavering trust in each other filled me with confidence, assuring me that our bond could withstand any challenges that lay ahead.
"Pinkie Pie," I called out, redirecting my attention to my lively friend. "Shall we change into our cozy pajamas for the upcoming game of Truth or Dare?"
A playful gleam sparkled in Pinkie's eyes as she enthusiastically replied, "Absolutely!" Together, we made our way to the bathroom, eagerly preparing for the night's festivities. I slipped into my custom-designed pajamas, a delightful ensemble featuring charming apple patterns that served as a gentle reminder of my dear Applejack. I smiled at the personal touch I had infused into their creation. The soft fabric enveloped me, offering both comfort and a gentle reminder of the enduring love we shared.
As I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, a surge of memories flooded my mind, transporting me back to the magic of our first night together. The warmth and tenderness of that evening engulfed me, intensifying the depth of my love for Applejack. In that moment, I silently pledged my feelings, knowing deep within my soul that my love for her would endure, a thousand times over.
Pinkie Pie's voice abruptly pulled me back to the present, her concern evident as she called out, "Rarity? Rarity? Earth to Rarity!! Are you okay?!"
Snapping out of my reverie, I flashed her an assuring smile and replied, "Um yeah, I'm fine! Don't worry, darling!" Joining her on the bed, I took a moment to appreciate the room's exquisite details once again. Although it may not have been my ultimate preferred choice, its cozy ambiance and understated charm set the stage for an unforgettable sleepover.
Pinkie Pie's voice snapped me back to reality, her words tinged with concern. "You're clearly not okay, Rarity, but don't fret. Applejack will be there to comfort you," she said reassuringly.
"What did she mean? Did she know about Applejack and me?" I pondered, my mind swirling with curiosity. A light chuckle escaped my lips as I entertained the whimsical thought. Pinkie, brimming with her usual infectious energy, guided me out of the hotel room, her enthusiasm tugging at my arm. Yet, despite the mirthful atmosphere, a puzzled expression lingered on my face, refusing to be dismissed.
