Chapter:50

Here you go another chapter..

****************

It's been five days since Catherine woke up. Now she can sit up and hold her daughter. The first time she held her, everything she felt, every insecurities she has vanished, her eyes teared up with an overwhelming sense of protectiveness, love and adoration for this little girl. And that's the second time in her life she fell in love with the same eyes. She looked exactly like Jeremy with a beautiful pair of green eyes.

"My baby" She cooed. The emptiness she was feeling filled with love for the little soul she is supposed to take care off and love unconditionally. The moment the baby fell asleep and the nurse came in to take her away. Again the emptiness gawked at her.

In these five days everyone came to visit her. Her parents, Jane,Cassandra, even Coltrane, everyone except Jeremy. Everytime she looked at the door hopefully it would get crushed.

Is he angry about what she decided?

Did he see their daughter?

Will she become daddy's princess?

Does he feel the same way she did?

For the last five days these are the thoughts revolving around her mind. And the fact that Jeremy is right outside in the hallway but not coming in only frustrated her.

The second day when He did not visit her, she asked Cassandra, "Where is he?"

Cassandra had a troubled look before telling her the truth that he is right outside.

"Can you tell him I want to see him?" Catherine asked hopefully which Cassandra refused and told her that Jeremy doesn't want her to know he is here. It's almost like he is punishing her. Tears filled her eyes falling one by one. Cassandra consoled her looking confused. She tried to control her emotions.

"Why is he doing this?" She asked, feeling choked.

"Only he can answer that," Cassandra said.

"Is he angry at me?" Catherine asked out loud. She cannot ask this to her parents nor Jane who is taking care of her. She is grateful for what Jane is doing. She treats her like she is her own daughter showering her with love more than her mother ever did.

"He is," Cassandra said, looking straight at her.

"I don't want him to choose between me and our baby. I cannot let him do that"

"Catherine explained it to him not me" she knows what Cassandra said makes sense but she is not in the mood of making sense anymore. Five days it's been five day since she is here stuck on this goddamn bed and the fact that he is right outside but refuses to see her.

"For that he needs to be here, he needs to listen to me let me see him. I am going mad. Why don't he understand?" She yelled tears filling her eyes.

"He does" Cassandra looked at her softly patting her hand.

"He does more than anyone and I believe he is punishing himself by not seeing you"

Cassandra looked away for a while putting her forefinger on her chin as if she was thinking something then smiled at her.

"When the first time he held the baby he cried, there were tears in his eyes. And when she started crying, Jeremy literally had a panic attack, he even tried to make funny faces to make her laugh. Can you imagine?" Cassandra chuckled causing Catherine to giggle as well.

"He loves her" Catherine said so confidently that the person who rushed hearing her yelling stand by the door felt his eyes pricked.

'I do' Jeremy whispered before leaving them to be.

He still remembers what happened a few days ago.

When Catherine was feeding Janice her parents came to visit, her mother entered the room while he was right outside with Carson.

"What are you going to name her?" Carina asked.

Catherine was too busy to admire her little princess to be bothered by anything. But her mother's question caught her attention.

"I am not going to name her" She shook her head before making sure the baby burped.

"Well then..." Carina did not get to finish her sentence.

"I decided if the baby is a boy then I will name him, if she is a girl then Jeremy will name her" Catherine smiled touching her nose with her belly. The baby giggled.

"How could you let him decide that?" Carina asked.

"This is not up for discussion mother. He is her father and my husband he has every right on her just as much as I do" Catherine said stare at her mother making sure she gets her message. She has messed up her life but she will not let her mother mess up her baby's life. And Carina is no one to be involved in between father and daughter.

"How could you let him do this when he left you?" Carina was not going to let her daughter make mistakes.

"I love him" Catherine smiled at her mother.

"Nothing is going to change that and I have hurt him so much in the past if we are going to count everything then I will win because it is always me who hurt him more" Carina faced redden, her daughter is too much into him to listen to logic.

7 days

It's been seven days.

Dr.Brown signed the documents and told her that she could leave. Jane brought her a beautiful white dress which reached her knees. She gained weight after the child birth.

Cassandra helped her. She is almost here everyday and Catharine could not be more thankful. She is always there to calm her down when her emotions go hearsay.

Dr.Brown said that many women go through this. Some even went through horrible depression in that case she is doing fine almost except her occasional outburst.

"We are here to take you" Carina said as they entered her room. Cassandra throw a cold glare at her. Catherine was ready to go home. She was just waiting for Jane to come back with her daughter.

"What do you mean mother?" She asked confused at how she said those words.

"I said that you are coming home with us" Carina said leaving no space for argument. Her eyes shot up.

"Sweetheart I think your mother is right. Stay with us for a while" Carson said, Cassandra just rolled her eyes.

"No" Catherine crossed her arms glaring at Carina. 'How can she think that I will let her take the decision of my life?'

"What?" Carina looked at her shocked.

"You hear me loud and clear, I am not coming with you" Catherine will not back down which makes Cassandra smirked. She is almost enjoying this looking at the woman who always tried to control their life. Slowly that control slipping.

"What are you saying?" Carina could not hold back and yelled.

"I have let you stay with him and what he does? You were on the verge of death because of him and the baby was born. Now that is done. You are coming with me and that's final" Carina glare at her.

"No I am not"

"I am going with Jane and staying with her till Jeremy comes and gets me. Do you hear me? " Catherine asked.

"Enough of this stubbornness Catherine" Carina warned her, grabbing her hand almost dragging her out.

"Let me go. You know he can get law involved if he wants me to stay with him" Catherine threatened her.

"He won't," Carina said confidently.

"He did not even come to visit you. Did he?" Catherine stilled hearing her words.

"How do you know this?" She asked. Something doesn't feel right, the fact that Jeremy does not visit only her and Catherine knows. Even Jane does not know about that.

"Do you forget who you are? How could you get married to a bastard?" Carina yelled trying to divert her mind.

"You are Catherine Walmart the sole heir of Walmart Corporation"

"Don't you dare call him that?" She yelled.

"I am not Catherine Walmart, it's Catherine Jeremy McGill. I am his lawfully wedded wife and I am going to be with him whether you like it or not"

"I will not leave him not you or anyone else. I will not leave him even if he asks me. Do you hear me?" she yelled, snatching her hand away rushing out. Jane was about to enter the room when Catherine ran out.

"Mrs. McGill?" The driver who was waiting outside opened the car door. She went in as a tear rolled down her cheeks.

"What happened sweety?" Jane asked after a while entering the car. Cassandra was right behind her holding her bags.

"Nothing" Catherine holds her baby kissing her forehead.

"I love you" She whispered. The journey home was silent, no one spoke another word.

She went straight to Jeremy's old room which he was using. She put the baby on the cot. Taking a seat on the bed.

"How are you feeling?" Cassandra asked.

"I don't know," She shakes her head as Cassandra silently sits down beside her.

"How come he did not visit me? Did my mom do something? What have I done to get this kind of treatment?" She asked.

"How could he just shut off his emotions? While I am struggling? Why did not he came to my rescue when my mother tried to take me away?" She looked at her for an answer which Cassandra cannot give her. She does not know what happened to Jeremy all of a sudden.

"Why don't you take a bath and get some rest?" Cassandra suggested.

"You are not going to tell me?" was that a question or a statement even Catherine herself does not know.

"I don't know" Cassandra did not explain, just let the words hang.

"Do you want me to talk to him?" Cassandra asked.

"No, I want him to come to me," Catherine said, looking at her daughter.

After a few days even Jane got to know that Jeremy does not visit Catherine and she was as confused as Cassandra. She also thought that if Catherine returns back everything will get back to normal.

***********

Two weeks later..

It's been two weeks since Catherine came back with Jane. Carson came to visit her once in a while to check on her and tell her how her words hurt her mother. Even if she does not want to go home with them she could visit at least.

Jeremy is here too only outside the house watching over them from afar. Jane saw his car and she told her about it.

She urged Jane to take her baby outside. After thinking about it Catherine decided she will give him time as much as he wants but her patience is running thin. Days passed by and he is still stuck. Today will be the last day she decided.

When Jane told her he is again outside the house watching over the house. She decided to take matters on her own hand and she walked out or ran out. Before Jeremy could react Catherine was standing in front of him huffing puffing.

"Jeremy" she walked up to him, throwing her arms around him. She hugged him as if her life depended on him sobbing. Jeremy wrapped his arms around her for a while , feeling some sort of relief before pushing her away a bit.

"Why?" She asked.

"Why didn't you come to visit me?" She asked again.

"Why?" When he did not answer she shook him harder.

"Why?"

"Why are you punishing me?" She asked.

"I am not punishing you" He looked away.

"It is my punishment I leave you when you need me the most how can I show my face as if nothing happened"

"Stop joking around" Catherine slapped him right across his face. This might be the third time she ever slapped him, her face turning red.

"I was on the verge of death giving birth to our only daughter and you could not even come to visit me once because of what guilt?"

"If you are guilty than you should be apologizing rather than running away"

"I need you, our daughter needs you but now you are too into yourself to see around. And I know my mother might have said something to you but does that matter. Who the hell she is to decide what I want in my life or not. And neither you are to decide for me. I can do that myself. Do you hear me?"

"I might have forgiven you for leaving me but I will not forgive you if you leave our daughter too" she yelled.

"Choose Jeremy McGill. I have given you enough time as it is" She glared at him as another tear rolled down. He just stared at the woman in shock.

"Choose are you going to stay with me and raise our daughter together or are you going to leave us? I have had enough of this pushing back and forth" She asked.

His hand went up rubbing her cheeks.

"I ... I was ready to give up anything to have you back but ..When your mother said that I am the reason you are dying. I am the reason that you are suffering and going to suffer for the rest of your life. I thought she was telling the truth if only I did not hurt you with my insecurities. This might not have happened"

"If this happens again I would have chosen it again because you and our daughter is the best thing that has happened in my life. You hurt me because I hurt you not the other way around. I am responsible for this mess as much as you are. And my mother has no say in this as she is the one responsible for it as much as I am" she slowly put her hand over his squeezing.

Jeremy looked down as a tear fell from his eyes.

"Will you give me a chance then?" He asked slowly.

"I am dying to give you a chance. All you need to do is ask," She smiled. He smiled.

"So?" She smirked. He blinked his eyes, "What?"

"Will you do me the honor and make me the happiest woman alive?" She asked.

It took Jeremy a while, "You are Catherine right?" He asked. She rolled her eyes.

"Well?"

"Are you proposing to me?" He asked.

"I am"

"I need some time to decide" he smirked.

"This is a once in a lifetime chance to miss it and you will never get it" Catherine glared at him and her jokes back fired almost pouting.

"Yes," Jeremy laughed, pulling her closer and kissing her like his life depended on it.

After their make out session they went back.

Jane smiled at them as they entered.

"Mom?" Jeremy looked here and there not knowing what to say.

"I am sorry honey" she walked up to her son and patted his cheeks as tears threatened to fall.

"I decided that I need to let go of the past. What your father did I cannot hold that on your head and after seeing how much you love her. I know I am wrong. I cannot promise that everything will be normal but I will try and I will start with therapy sessions" Jane said.

Jeremy hugged her, " Thank you mom and thank you for taking care of Catherine and Cynthia"

"You already named out daughter?" Catherine blinked.

"Didn't I tell you?" He asked.

"No you did not but that's a beautiful name I love it " she smiled.

"Thanks love for letting me name her" Catherine tried not to blush but her cheeks flushed hearing him call her love in front of his mother.

**************

Two years later ..

It's been two year since since everything happened..

Cassandra was waiting for Catherine in her cafe. She was still living here.

Catherine rushed in here. She took a seat in front of her ordering coffee.

"So how's life treating you?" Cassandra asked Catherine sipping on her coffee.

"It's good, everything is working out perfectly," she smiled.

"I saw you and Jeremy on the cover of a magazine. You were attending a party" Cassandra curiously asked.

"Yeah I need to attend parties with him. Don't even talk about those" Catherine sighed rolling her eyes.

"Why?" Cassandra smirked.

"Those ladies are so annoying. I mean look at the ring ladies he is already taken not only that his wife is standing right beside him. Not only that he has a daughter could you stop drooling" she groaned frustrated.

"They just stare at every chance they get"

"He is mine, so back off. I sometimes want to yell that" Cassandra looked at her before busting out laughing.

"I still can't believe you are the same Catherine" she said no one does. This Catherine is confident she can stand up for herself just like when she was a kid all thanks to Jeremy. After everything happened between them Jeremy decided that love is not the only thing that's required for a successful relationship. He went ahead and decided that they should both go through marriage counseling and couple therapy sessions. And it did wander to their relation even though it took a while to build seeing them together like this makes it worthwhile.

"He makes me feel confident and beautiful but the fact that he does not even notice them makes him dreamy" Catherine blushed.

Cassandra chuckled this is getting funnier. After everything happened in the past she built up a good relationship with Catherine. They always find time to hang out at least once a week talking about any and everything.

"So, How is the wedding preparations going?" She asked. A few days ago on their 2nd anniversary Jeremy proposed to Catherine this time in a traditional way going down on his knees. Catherine squealed and accepted his proposal.

Catherine takes a sip of her tea.

"Jeremy told me that he wants to give me a perfect wedding but I don't want anything extravagant," she sighed.

"A small destination wedding with close friends and family is fine. I want help. When will you be free?" Catherine asked her.

"Do you think Carina will accept that?" Cassandra asked the atmosphere which was almost carefree a while ago heavied.

"I told her if she wants to be a part of my life and her grand daughter's life then she needs to stop interfering" Catherine said to which Cassandra nodded her head.

"I need to submit my project.
which is due next week so I will have some free time. We can talk than" Cassandra said, rubbing her shoulder.

"Cassandra, I know I should not be bringing this out but you know that Jeremy wants to invite Coltrane in the wedding as his best man. And you being my maid of honor I want to make sure that.." Catherine trailed off.

"You are my sister so, if you don't want to see him I will.."

"Stop being melodramatic" She rolled her eyes.

It might be true after what happened between them, people around her stop being Coltrane up. As if she is made of glass and has a breakdown every time she hears his name.

"Flynn should attend the wedding for Jeremy. You should be more worried about him than me" She said.

Catherine stared at her shocked for two years. It's been two years since they did not talk about Coltrane just so not to dig up the past and hurt Cassandra but she seems totally unfazed not only that she called him Flynn not Coltrane..

"I will help you with the wedding. But I need to get going. My college will start in half an hour." Cassandra stood up and gathered her books.

"By the way pay for the coffee after all you make me wait"
