Chapter 74

Poppy's PoV

It was weird, everyone was busy on the night Calum had suggested we all went out - Ashton said he and Bex were going to a restaurant for one of their first official dates, Michael had said Crystal was on bed rest orders from the doctor so he had booked for a masseuse to come to their house and Luke said he and Sierra were already meeting some old friends. Calum looked disheartened for a second but then a smile grew. He told me it would be a date with just the two of us. I couldn't wait. He'd told me that instructions would come and I'd follow them, not to worry about anything - which had made me so nervous but I trusted him so when Friday evening rocked up, I was just sat in my loungewear after having a bath watching The Simpson's when there was a knock at the door.

"That'll be for you, beautiful." He called out from the bedroom where he'd been for a considerable amount of time. I'd made sure he was okay but it still worried me. What if he wasn't well enough to do this? He hadn't wanted to go outside any time I had asked for weeks yet now he wanted to go all out for a night out? Still, excitement ran through me as I went to the door and opened it to reveal a group of people I didn't know.

"Poppy?" The first asked and I nodded, but they quickly filed into the house with their many bags and began to set up.

"Err-" I began but stopped myself. Calum said it was for me. Let's just go with it and see what happens. The first was a lady, tall and slim with impeccable style, she sat me down and began working on my makeup. A man came across and stood the other side of me, working on my hair.

"Don't worry hun, you just sit tight." The lady continued as she noticed my tense expression. I was never high maintenance and just dressed myself and did my own makeup. To have Calum organise something like this only meant we were going somewhere super fancy. I didn't know whether to be excited or nervous. Another couple of people, these looking like twins, were running around with a big covered hanger which must have contained my outfit.
It wasn't long before the two people had worked their unbelievable magic and turned me into a flawless, beauty enhanced lady who looked ready to conquer the world. My hair was curled and half up (image at top), my makeup covered my tired eyes and highlighted all the best parts. I was in awe of their work. I could have cried with how great they had made me look.

"Thank you so much. I don't I've ever looked this good." I let out a little laugh, making both the workers happy. "I can't believe he's gone to such trouble to-"

"Not over yet!" The female twin called, ushering me into our bedroom with a excitable energy making her look like she was ready to bounce off the walls. Her brother was stood by the outfit, still covered up as it hung from the curtain rail.

"Okay, ready to see the outfit?" The male twin asked, also vibrating with excitement. It was then that I saw Calum's head pop round the door. I couldn't see his body but his smile was massive as he nodded towards the bag.

"Go on, open it." He urged. With nerves making me feel queasy, I stepped up to the bag and ran the long zip down to the bottom, revealing the most beautiful white dress. My breath hitched as the twins pulled the outfit out and it suddenly hit me what type of dress it was. A wedding dress. My jaw fell open in surprise as I spun back round to Calum, who quickly moved into the room and showed me his beautifully fitted grey suit. I let out a laugh, I wasn't sure whether it was out of surprise or nervousness.

"Did you-? Are we-?" I could barely speak. He smiled sweetly at me as he nodded.

"Only if you want to of course." He shrugged, now it was his turn to feel nervous as he played about with his tie. Everyone was waiting on my response and I didn't quite realise I'd left it as long as I had until Calum's face fell and he looked down to the floor. "It's fine if you don't."

"No Cal, I definitely do. Sorry i just can't believe it's really happening. We'd been planning for so long at the beginning of the tour and so much happened that it just stopped. I can't believe we've finally hit a time for it to be right." Calum let out a breath as he rushed to me and pulled me in, hugging me tightly as we took each other in once again.

"You've made me the happiest guy in the world. I'll leave you to get changed. The car will be here in half an hour." He disappeared once again and let the twins help me into my dress.
I looked beautiful, unfathomable really. Never in my life did I ever imagine myself to look like this as I got married to Calum Hood. It was crazy. The door went once again and cal rushed to open it this time. Soon, a young lady arrived at the bedroom door holding a bouquet of flowers for me. I welled up as I looked in the mirror, realising this was actually happening. I was here in a wedding dress. The marriage we had planned for so long was happening on a whim but as long as I was with Calum I honestly didn't care. We'd been through so much, and now with our baby on the way, we had been needing some good news, to get ourselves into a constant feeling of happiness rather than just waiting for the next bad thing to happen.

"I'd say you're ready to go!" The twins beamed as they looked me over to check everything was perfect. (Dress below)

"Wishing you all the best. Have a lovely wedding night."
