Chapter 7
Poppy's PoV
After pleading with the security guard, he let me run down to the dressing room accompanied with one security guard whilst the other waited with Sierra and Bex. I couldn't tell them what was going on but I knew I'd worried them by my sudden change in demeanour. I'd asked Michael to get the medics to meet me there and to call for an ambulance, worrying him more. I didn't have time to soothe him right now but I would after I'd made sure she was okay.
Skidding into the room, everyone was stood around crystal, unsure of what to do. I knelt beside her and felt for her pulse, which felt fine. I grabbed the handheld blood pressure cuff they had in the first aid box and took to doing her blood pressure which was low. That was something that happened a lot during pregnancies as the body tried to come to terms with this new being within it.
"Crystal? Can you hear me?" I spoke to her as I felt her chest and back, a little hot but not enough for a temperature so that was good. I ordered the guys to wet some paper towels as i rested them on her forehead, trying to bring her round.
"What's wrong with her?" Michael asked worriedly, his hands running through his hair over and over as he watched helplessly.
"I think she's just passed out. It's okay it's quite common when-" I cut myself off, knowing it wasn't my place to say in front of everyone. "It'll be best to have her checked by a doctor just to be sure." I said, putting him slightly at ease. Crystal finally stirred and everyone moved closer, watching as she finally came to and stared up to me.
"What happened?" She asked croakily, looking around the room to work out where she was.
"You're in the dressing room." I made sure to say first. "You seemed to pass out. Are you feeling okay? Any pain anywhere?" I said, my eyes darting from hers to her stomach as if to hint. Her eyes went wide with worry. "Don't worry, I think everything's okay I just need to ask." I said as the paramedics turned up at the door with a gurney. "I want you to get checked by a doctor though, just to be sure." She offered a thankful smile as we helped her onto the bed. I took the paramedic to the side as I handed over everything.
"She's very early pregnant, a few weeks only. No one knows as of yet hence me not asking her. I think she's passed out due to lack of nutrition, she's been sick quite a lot. Could we arrange a scan and some bloods?" The paramedic nodded as he noted down in Spanish. We watched as they began to wheel Crystal away, just as Michael rushed to the door.
"I want to come." Michael said but crystal shot me a glare as if to say she didn't want him there. I walked over and put my hand on his arm.
"I think it's best to let them do all the tests first. We can visit afterwards." Michael pulled his arm from my grip.
"Just because you two had an argument doesn't mean you can stop me seeing her." He snapped, moving away from me.
"I'm not doing anything of the sort! We're in a foreign country and she's going to hospital, they may not have security for you or facilities for you to be able to wait around. I'm just trying to make the medics lives easier." I explained, taken aback by the accusation - my second painful experience of the day.
"Calm down Mike, she's obviously trying to help." Calum was quick to stick up for me again, moving to my side and putting an arm around me.
"Of course you'd stick up for her. And I'm sticking up for my girlfriend." Mike snapped back.
"Enough!" Ashton shouted, silencing everyone where they stood. "I'm going to take the initiative to say Poppy is trying to help. She's never been malicious to any of us and even if something was going on between her and Crystal, I don't think she'd put her health at risk because of an argument. For now, we will all wait and see what happens. We can arrange for someone to take you to her later. For now, sit down and shut up."
It seemed like forever had passed as my phone finally began to ring, noting Crystals name on the caller ID. I wasted no time jumping up and running out of the room, heading down the corridor to a quiet spot away from everyone.
"Hey crystal." I said quietly. "Is everything okay?" I could hear a small sob from the other end of the phone and my stomach dropped, nausea consuming me.
"It's fine. Thank you. I'm so sorry for shouting at you before. My emotions are just everywhere. You still helped me despite what I said to you and I just wanted to say sorry." I breathed a sigh of relief, glad everything was fine.
"Don't ever think like that. I'd always help you, you know that. Friends look out for each other." I said, half believing what I said. I was annoyed with her and what she'd said to me but I also knew I had to disregard it right now, there were more important things to focus on.
"Thank you. I'm so sorry again." She said, her voice still shaky.
"And the scan? Has that happened yet?" I asked carefully. She seemed to let out a small laugh as she answered.
"Yeah, I saw the little one. They look like a flickering rice grain." She said humorously. I let out a smile.
"Ah I'm so happy for you. I'm glad the baby is okay." I said, hugging my phone to my ear as I grinned. My heart fluttered with excitement at the fact one of my closest friends was going to have a baby, despite it currently being a secret.
"Baby?" I heard from behind me. My eyes widened as I slowly turned round, Michael standing behind me with his eyes wide. In my ear, crystal gasped as I stammered incoherently. Crap.
