Chapter 3

"Madam Soyer we're home!!"

"Stop shouting Susette." We walk into the living room. Susette throws herself on the couch, Cindie and Bri going to sit next to her.

"Walking is tiring."

I shake my head, sitting down as well. Madam Soyer and they walk out the kitchen to us.

"Hey Tyler. How are you?" I ask, getting up to hug the giant man.

"I'm doing well Catelyn." He says smiling the Soyer charmer, as Mrs. Soyer calls it.

Mr. Soyer is a tall, dark and handsome man. When I first met him, he was such a gentleman.

Their story is quite cute. She was one of the housemaids, when he joined the maintenance unit for the household.

She was very straight forward about her feelings, that she left poor Mr. Soyer dumbfounded. Their love for each other is truly beautiful.

"You won't believe what happened in town today guys. Mom was flirting with a youngster." Susette says and Brianna his her arm.

"Ow!"

"You need to stop creating false scenarios in that head of yours. She was not flirting with him."

Susette would not give me the time of day, on the drive home. Instructing me that I should not speak to handsome young strangers, or read books about love with them. Even after explaining the entire situation to her about his mother, she still wouldn't take heed.

"It is not a false senecio. They sat down reading a book called the art of love."

"It was his mother's favorite book. And his father has not been able to locate her copy of it since her passing. I offered for him to take it but he wouldn't, so I suggested we read it together." I explain. Madam Soyer nods in understanding.

"Mom, you are a very appealing woman. Do not be deceived by these young men." She says with all seriousness in her tone.
"Seems I'm going to have to keep my eye on both you and Brianna." She says shaking her head. She stands to her feet, walking toward the stairs.

What am I to do with her?

Brianna gets up, grabbing her bags and going after her sister.
"I told you already Susette! He is not my boyfriend!"

"That's what you keep saying with a flustered face!" She says. I shake my head, turning to look at Cindie. Who seemed far in thought.

"What are you thinking about?"

"That Leo guy looked very familiar. I can't put my finger on it. It's like right there at the front of my brain, but my brain isn't letting me say it."

"Oh how I hate when that happens." Madam Soyer says.

"Don't put too much pressure on you brain dear. It will fully come to mind when it's time." She smiles at Madam Soyer, nodding.

"I guess your right. I'll go freshen up." She says, standing from the chair.

"I'll go freshen up as well." They nod.

I enter the dinning room, seeing the delicious meal Madam Soyer prepared for us.

"Looks delicious Madam Soyer." Brianna says sitting down at the table.

"Thank you dear."

Mr. Soyer leads us in a word of prayer before we dig in.

"This is so delicious Madam Soyer." Susette compliments.

"Stop talking while your eating." She shoots Bri a glare, before continuing to eat.

These two.

"Leianna dear, have you thought of what you want to study, after graduating? You're almost done." I ask.

"Yes ma'am. I was considering attending the Academy." She shyly replies.

"Really? What do you want to study?" Brianna asks her.

"Preferable singing."

"You can sing?!" Susette shouts.

Why is this child of mines so loud.

"I've never heard you sing before." Brianna mentions.

"We can have talent night." Cindie suggests.

"I think that's a fine idea. It's been awhile since we've had you girls show off your talents." Madam Soyer agrees. Leianna shyly smiles.

Leianna first started working for us a few years ago. Madam Soyer had gotten ill and we were looking to hire someone to help her out around the house.

We found out that she was an orphan and was kicked out of the home when she turned eighteen.

Madam Soyer and Mr. Soyer had never been able to have children after the death of their son, and when Leianna came to stay with us, the three basically became their own family.

The three of us did all we could to help her acquire the proper education and now she's graduating with highest honors from her teacher.

"I don't think I should. I haven't sang out openly before." She says, playing with her food.

"I have heard that voice of yours many times Anna. You'll do great." Mr. Soyer tells her.

"Thanks dad."

After cleaning up the dinning room and kitchen, we head into the living room for our little post meal concert. Brianna goes over to the piano, passing her hands over the keys.

"Thank you ladies and gent. This piece that I am playing today is called Dreaming, by your truly. Please enjoy."

We listened on as she skillfully played. The raw passion on her face as she did.

It's at times like this, I wish Matthew was sitting next to me, watching our girls be great.

After she concluded, Susette came up after giving us a chilling performance of what she called dancing.

I worry sometimes for her future spouse.

"Please do not ever do that again." Cindie says laughing.

"It's called freedom of movement." She says sitting down.

Cindie gets up, singing her favorite lullaby.
"You shall be queen." She bows, going back over to her seat.

Leianna stands, advancing to the front of the room.
"I don't have a song." She says shyly.

"Sing anything. Nothing could be more horrid than Susette's performance." Brianna says making me chuckle.

"Freedom of movement!"

"I can accompany you, if you want." Brianna suggests.

"Oh well. Sure, thank you." She walks over to the piano, letting her know of the song she wants to sing.

"Oh I know that one." Brianna begins to softly play the intro to one of my favorite and also one of Adamas' most famous choruses, Summer's Way.

She nervously fists her hands at t side of her dress. Putting them in front of her she takes a deep breath and begins to sings.

"Singing sweetly in the summer's breeze.
The birds chirp, in summer's green.
Far away in summer's warmth.
We hold tight to.
All we know, and all that we hold true.

Sun is shining bright. Skies are blue and white, and calmness fills the air.
Happiness and laughter, are the feelings we share.

Summer summer's blue.
Summer summer's bloom.
Summer summer's love.

Summer's day. Summer's way."

The almost angelic sound of her voice filled the room. Brianna's accompaniment with her seemed to add to the symphony of sound. It felt like I was sitting front row at their showcase.

She repeats the chorus again, increasing in key on summer's love, before ending it.

"Summer's day. Summer's way." She ends, Brianna hiring her last note. We all stand applauding her.

"I had no clue, you could sing that well Leianna." I tell her.
"It's only wise for you to truly attend the academy."

"I agree." Brianna says.

I glance at Madam Soyer and Mr. Soyer, both looking at their daughter with the proudest smiles.

I'll talk to them more tomorrow about her applying to the academy.

"Encore!!" Mr. Soyer shouts and we all in him. She shyly smiles, turning to Brianna who nods at her.

Brianna has always been gifted to play the piano, but when joined with such a rare voice like Leianna's it was breathtaking.

Her voice was soft and airy, but by the natural tone of her voice, I knew with the best teaching she would be unstoppable.

"The Prince!!" Cindie shouts out of no where, jumping to her feet. Brianna presses down hard on the notes out of shock. Leianna stopping mid note.

"What are you talking about Cindie?" Susette asks her.

"Where's your Prince Fan club box!?" She urgently asks Susette.

"Under my bed-" she doesn't have time to finish, because Cindie runs out the room. I look after her.

"And I'm the crazy one." Susette says and I give her a look.
"Sorry."

Cindie runs back into the room with Susette's box in hand. Dropping it unto the ground she quickly pulls it open.

"What are you doing?" Susette asks.

"I couldn't put my finger on it before, but it just hit me like a ton load of bricks." She says opening one of the posters.
"I knew it!!" She shouts turning it to us.
"Leo, is Prince Leonardo."

I stared at the poster in shock. Everything seeming to click.

His hair was much longer here, but how could I not recognize him.

His mother died a few years...Oh my gosh.

"We met the prince!!!" Susette screams in horror.
