" Kayal, Would you like to marry my second son Siddarth? "

My whole world turned upside down , when those  words left from Aunty's mouth!!!

I just thought everything had to be a nightmare and when I wake up next morning there would be not any traces of today's event or I thought it would be better the medium size chandelier which hanging on the straight line above of my head, broken down and I had to admitted in ICU.

"Kayal.. Kayal.." I felt someone shook my shoulder and my thoughts got lost. I heard Kavya's voice near to my ear " Kayal, what are thinking? Everyone is waiting for your answer." First time I lifted my eyes and looked at everyone's face. Like she said each ones attention was solely on me. I did not know why but suddenly my eyes  looked for Karthik but he was not there.

Again reality pricked me hard that I was all alone in this world and I was an orphan. No one was there to support me through this hard situation.

" Kayal, what is this? Mrs. Susila waiting for your reply for long time. Is this your way to show your respect for her?" father yelled at me infront of everyone.

"Mr. Krishnan. Please stop your yelling. We have come here to talk about a good thing so please do not talk like this. It was my mistake, listening to your words I did not ask Kayal's consent before coming here like this. I would have known the consequences.

I think she was confused about this sudden arrangement with Siddarth. First let me talk to her privately. After that we will talk further. " telling to father she came near me and holding my arms, she told " Come Kayal, let's go to your room". I too followed her since I just wanted to leave  this place.

After coming to room we both sat down on my bed.  Turning to my side Susila aunty held my hand, " Kayal, I know it would be hard for you to accept this proposal at once and you may have doubts on Siddarth considering about past history between the two of you." I lifted my eye lids and saw her.

" But believe me, Siddarth was the one who came to me and confessed that he would like to marry you. First I also got doubt on his intentions . But he admitted that he did that everything because of the anger he was had on me. That was nothing to do with you.

When he was in Germany, he had a broke up with his long time girlfriend Riya , before he moving to here. When I met her for the first time, I did not had good impression on her. It was confirmed she used Siddarth has a golden duck to have a luxury lifestyle also she got him addicted to some drugs to use him as puppet . But in Siddarth's eyes she was as an innocent girl who loved him for eternity . Later, through an agent Sager found out most of her cheatings and fraudulents. After that Sager and me confronted her and warned her to leave him. But infront of Siddarth she acted as a victim and made a drama like we threatened her with creating false acquisitions.

He blindly believed her and fought with us taking her side. But eventually one day he caught her cheating with her ex boyfriend. They were quarreled regarding the matter and finally she broke up with him. Does not matter, that she cheated him, but he could not bear the break up. So he started to blame us for her changing in behaviour and acquiesced because of us only she cheated him in frustration.

After that he started to drink lot, consumed drugs and did more one night stands. Finally we managed to pull him off  from that wrong track. So without delaying,  Sager and Siddarth moved to India because we wanted him to forget those incidents completely. But still he refused to talk with us properly except Sara and Kamala.

You know what happened after that , and because of his anger on us he behaved with you harshly, when I took your side his anger got triggered. That was the reason for all the problem which happened on the pooja day. So he heartfully confessed his wrongs and asked forgiveness from me. Also he said that he was ready to ask forgiveness from you too.

That's why he said after realising his mistakes he started to have feelings for you when gradually he began to note your behaviours and the way you mingle with us. And mostly understanding your good soul, he told that in future he would like to make a family with you forgetting his past life. After Riya's breakup that day only he spoke with me as like before when he talked about you. And I saw the desperation in his eyes which crave for real love.

I know who you are and always I felt a pull towards you. In one step I started to consider as you one of my daughter. That's why I took this decision after thinking lot and informed to your father. " she paused and got up from her place and stood infront me still holding my hands." All I am asking you to think and give me a positive answer. I'm begging you Kayal please accept my son. I completely have faith that you are the one who can change him thoroughly. Usually he was not the person who makes demands. But now he only demanded you that too have a good future with you . I will be there for you Kayal you do not have to worry about anything.

You can live like a princess in our house. My peace, my son Siddarth's life and my family's happiness, everything depends on, only in your answer. Hope you will think and make a wise decision...." at the end we both had tears flowing out from our eyes. But her was in desperation and mine was in the uncertainty of my future also due to my helplessness of couldn't express my real feelings .

Suddenly we heard someone knocking on the door. Quickly we wiped our tears, and aunty went to open the door. "Sid, what are you doing here?" hearing his name I got stunt and felt like to escape from this place. My blood pressure ran through my body like I have heard a devil's name . The blood sucking devil.

Closing the door aunty went outside with him. But I did not feel to move an inch from my current place. Few minutes later I heard door opening sound when I looked up my body went freezed looking at the person who stood infront me locking the door.

Unknown to me his name left from my mouth, " S... Siddarth...."

Half and hour later...

Author's POV

Everyone was waiting for the couple of who were talking in room. Some were anxiously waiting for the Kayal's answer but particular some one was controlling the inner volcano which was bursting inside of the heart and ready to burst out in any moment.

Hearing the click sound of opening  door, everyone's attention turned to the way where footsteps are coming from. When Kayal and Siddarth came to the living area, Susila rushed towards Kayal's side and asked " Kayal did you both talk openly and clear the misunderstandings?" she asked  desperately looking at both of them.

" Mom, there is nothing to worry. Everything got cleared between us and even I asked forgiveness for my past behaviour, she also forgave me whole heartedly. " Siddarth told casually, looking at his mother who was standing expectantly.  Hearing her son's words quickly Susila's face turned into bright.

Holding Kayal's forearm Susila asked " Kayal then what is your final decision on this marriage? Are you ready to marry Siddarth?"  again she  asked the question which is bothering her for long hour.... Not only Susila , everyone who were stay there.

A nod.... Just with a mere affirmative nod Kayal sealed her fate with devil himself.

" Oh my God! " squealing out loud Susila hugged Kayal. Because of the sudden impact Kayal opened her eyes and  straightly came to contact with a pair of eyes which was blazing with lots of questions and emotions. Her breath halted looking at that person's face and her unspoken words started to flew out in the form of tears from her lifeless eyes. But for others it seemed like tears of happiness. Other than three persons in that hall, everyone failed to see her real feeling behind that facade nod also the wicked smirk appeared on the lips of devil.

Siddarth saw the  expression of Karthik and got the answer for his doubts which were running through his mind . He got satisfied seeing him like that and thought...... check mate!

" Okay just cheer up everyone, let's celebrate this happy moment without getting more emotional like desi dramas on television " saying Siddarth went near to table and picked up the sweet box which they brought here. Opening it he fed the first laddoo to his mother with a charming smile and turning to Kayal he stretched his hand to feed her but when she did not open her mouth even a little bit, maintaining his charming smile he moved  near to her ear and said in cold voice " Open your damn mouth if you do not want to face the consequences." When he retreated back showing his fake smile, she opened the mouth without any delay to avoid his trouble.

After that he served laddoos to everyone with a same smile . When he came to Karthik his smile vanished and evil smirk came back with a chuckle. " Karthik have some laddoos. I won't mind if you take four or five. If you want you can have this whole box. After all today your loving sister's wedding got confirmed." he said sarcastically and he pressed the words 'loving sister' when he said those two words.

When Karthik looked at him like raging bull Siddarth snickered and looked around others. When he confirmed others are engrossed in talking with each others, he turned to Karthik and told him in low voice " What? Do you feel like to beat me to pulp or thinking to break my nose like last time?  You did not expect it right, that I will come back with a plan like this? You underestimated me, Mr. Karthik. See! now where it made you stand... Now you just stood like that and watch how am I going to play with your lov..... Ohhhh! sorry now she's going to be my soon to be fiance after that soon to be wife...."

" Karthik... " suddenly they heard a voice and and Siddarth changed his expression but not Karthik. " Karthik, come let's arrange the table" saying Kavya dragged him to kitchen by force.

After having dinner everyone left sharing their pleasantries. But still there were some people who lost their appetite even before having dinner.
