I tried but could not open my eyes. And I could hear some murmurs around me. What happened to me? This time trying hard I opened my eyes but immediately closed due to over powered  brightness .

"Amma, look Akka got conscious" I heard a loud voice. After the numerous attempts I able to opened my eyes completely without any problem. First thing I saw was peach colour ceiling. And suddenly a face appeared infront my eyes and I got startled.

"Akka, are you okay? What happened to you? We were so worried about you" Sara asked without any break.

" Sara, come this side. Now only she woke up. So let her breathe first" I heard Susila Aunty's scolding voice. I tried to get up from the position and I felt someone holded my arms and helped me to sit. After sitting I saw it was Karthik. Telling him thank you I looked around the place. As far as I remember this is Sara's room. And most of the family members are standing around the room. What happened? and why am I here? I was confused.

"Sara do not get tension. Nothing to worry about anything. Just relax first" aunty told in calm voice taking a seat beside me in bed. "Aunty what happened?" I asked but my voice came out hoarsely.

" You had come to Sara's room to take some rest. So when she came back to check on you, she saw you lying on the floor unconsciously. Immediately she informed to us and now here we are. You have been unconscious for one and half hours.

But nothing serious. I checked you. I think you fainted due to immense stress and anxiety. With that today's tiredness increased your blood pressure. " oh shit then only I remembered that today I forgot to intake thyroxine medicine in the morning. Even I did not eat anything too.

" Kayal what are you thinking, is there anything please tell me. Do you have any health issues? " aunty asked me suspiciously like she read my thoughts."

" No aunty,  I only take thyroxine medication every morning but today I forgot to take. I think that's why I got unconscious after getting more tired."

" What thyroxine medication?" suddenly we heard a booming voice and everyone's head turned to look at the person." No one said about this thyroid thing before the engagement. Mr. Krishnan, what is this nonsense? Even you hide this important issue from us." my so called fiance started to shout like a mad person.

" No. Mr Raj. You have misunderstood whole  situation.  I did not try to hide things from you. Thyroid issue is not a big deal...." father started to reason with his acquisition.

" Not a big deal? Do you think I am a fool to believe you. I know very well that thyroid patients can not be conceived easily and only rare possibilities are there. Even though she's not a perfect woman upto my status and an orphan case, I accepted this proposal only for the purpose of producing a heir. But now what's the use of this infertile woman? Thank God, atleast now I got to know the truth. "

I know I do not have any idea to marry him yet his venom words prick me hard when he spit those words infront of everyone. Why this brainless people talk about the things which they are not fully aware of. Hearing rumours everyone started to believe the girl who has thyroid issue, could not be conceived. It's an  utter nonsense.

"Okay Mr Raj , now what do you want to do after knowing this? Already engagement is finished. In two months you both are going to get married so what is the problem?" Susila Aunty asked patiently folding her hands near to her chest like she was waiting for the answer.

" Marriage?? do not think about it even in your dreams . And about engagement... " he came near me and harshly pulled off the engagement ring from my finger. Ouchhh!!! This bastard! " I'm the one who put this ring , now I'm itself removed it by my hand. So this wedding is called off. Here after do not dare to show this face to us. " telling that he removed his ring too and threw it away before going out from the room with his family members. No one tried to stop him. But father ran behind him, still trying to convince him. What a pity?

Looking at my hand I felt like some burden was removed from my shoulder and I wanted to shout out loud that my wedding was called off now I am a free bird. Happy tears clouded my eyes but immediately I removed it blinking them.

"Kayal, do not take that idiot's words into your head. We can not change this people's stupidity. So it would be better if you forget his words also this bitterful engagement thing." I nodded my head.

"Okay now drink this medicine. You will feel better" saying she gave me some medicines with a glass of water. Then only it clicked me! "Aunty are you a doctor?" I asked shockingly. Looking at my expression she laughed little and said, " Yes, I am. Why am I not looking like a doctor?" She asked in mischievous tone. Quickly I said" No aunty, just I asked. You  really have a doctor's look" I blabbered something which came to my mind. Everyone started to laugh except few people. You must be know, who are those.

"Yeah now everyone laugh....." my  father said loudly entering the room. Looking at my face he asked, " Why didn't you laugh with them? Your fiance called off the wedding within few hours of your engagement. But here you are acting like nothing happened. Didn't you think for a minute who is going to marry you after this rejection?" he came near to my face and asked in calm yet dangerous tone. I know at the moment if Susila aunty and her family was not there, he could have strangled me by his own hands.

" Mr. Krishnan, there's nothing any fault with Kayal. Mr. Raj was the one who made an issue for a simple thing. So do not blame her." aunty told strictly. I know he will  maintain the silence  while we are staying here. When we reach home, he'll blast like a volcano.

" Kayal now tell me how you fainted and why did not you tell anyone about your dizziness? "

My mind suddenly went backwards to the exact moment before I fainted. And got remembered what happened in this room. And my eyes widened realising the reality and I looked at the person who was standing in distance like nothing happened.... No way!!!!

I remembered very well after hearing his words I blacked out in his arms after seeing his face.  Feeling my gaze that person looked at my way but his eyes were not the same eyes which I have seen until now or did I miss to read his emotions all these times ????

" Mrs. Susila, I hope you will understand that I prepared everything for Kayal's wedding but unfortunately it was called off by groom's family. There is nothing fault with us. And please do not step back from my daughter Kavya and your son Sager's wedding. She can not bear it, if anything wrong happened with this marriage ." father pleaded folding his hands.

"Mr.Krishnan I am not that heartless person. Today's events will not affect your daughter's future. I can assure you. Now they are already engaged. So do not worry. At the same time I want to find a suitable groom for Kayal. So I'll try from my side." the last thing, Aunty said looking at my face.

For now I just want to stay alone. Because still my mind is in haze and could not think properly. My inner battles crashing down like someone provoke them, even when that person was staying outside. I did not have any courage to confront that person face to face and question him about his behaviour.

Few hours later when I felt okay, atleast I pretended like, I'm all okay to leave from here. Teaching some advices Susila Aunty gave me the permission to leave. Otherwise she suggested me to stay  here until tomorrow morning. But all I want now is reaching to my safe place, my room. Then only I'll get my sanity. Because my heart was thudding wildly like something going to happen which is going to change my whole life.

After bidding our goodbyes we left to home. When we reached into the house, First I quickly went to bathroom and took a bath without minding my health condition. I want to cool down my heated head. Because there were lot heated arguments are going around my mind.

Later, When I was sitting on my bed someone knocked the door. I opened it and saw Karthik was standing with a plate full of meals. "What?" I asked in blank tone. He did not say anything and entered into the room pushing the door widely.

He kept the plate in the small wooden table and told" You did not eat anything from morning. Even you did not  have your dinner properly at Susila Aunty's house. That's why I brought it. Sleep after having the food. " saying that he stared to leave the room. How dare he!!!!

" Karthik " he stopped on his spot hearing my voice.

" W... Why did you do like that?.... "
