Chapter 3
AN: I'm sorry I got you guys so used to me updating almost everyday that I don't update for almost five or six days and you guys think I ditched lmao don't worry that's not the case. I'm sorry, I should've told ya'll that I wouldn't be updating in a while because as surprising it may seem man, I actually got a life.
I'm not being sarcastic, I usually do nothing but gain weight and hybernate during the summer so I have a lot of time to write but not this time, I'm vacationing to Europe soon, going shopping for new clothes, exercising, studying for my driver's license (Cuz I procrastinated lol help) and helping out with my lil sis since she still has school while going out with friends.
So updates won't be as fast as they used to be, I'll update once a week or more if I have time but I promise I will never make you guys wait for more than a week for an update.
"You'll need this too." Harry said, holding out the Safeway bag of diapers and baby food he just bought as I took it from his hand.
I opened it, making sure that all the items were there before I pursed my lips and slowly nodded my head in approval.
"There you go miss." I spoke up, handing the grocery bag over to the pregnant lady in front of us who was short a few bucks for one of the baby supplies she was purchasing as she sent Harry and I a grateful smile.
"I can't thank you two enough, really. It was already hard enough to go to the store six months pregnant for items for my other baby at this late hour without my husband and then I didn't have enough money to top it all off." She explained with a nervous laugh, gesturing to her other small child in the stroller besides her as she cradled the grocery bag close to her chest.
"Yeah well, you know, we're always here just looking out for random pregnant woman at Safeway in the middle of the night who are short on dinero to help them." Harry answered back with a tight smile, his hands placed behind his back in a polite manner as his sweet voice gradually turned into a bitter growl by the end of his sentence as he narrowed his dark eyes at me while I elbowed him.
"You two are just absolute angels." The woman smiled, looking between the two of us as both Harry and I's bodies stiffened at her words before we exchanged looks with one another after a few moments of silence.
We then both burst into a fit of hysterical laughter, Harry clapping his hands and pointing at her as I threw my head back, our loud cackling filling the almost empty grocery store obviously making the woman uncomfortable as she attempted to join us with an uneasy smile, shifting on her feet awkwardly.
"You would be laughing just as hard as us if you knew how ironic that statement you made was." Harry told her, an amused grin that mirrored mine still on his flawless face as she tried to let out a nervous giggle.
"But you don't." He deadpanned, making the woman immediatly stop her giggling with wide frightened eyes at his sudden seriousness.
The two stared at eachother for a few more moments in intense silence as I patiently rocked on the heels of my feet.
"Okay have a nice dayyyyyy....." He then said, throwing his head back when he said the last word, his voice trailing off as the sound hung through the air and faded since he turned on his heel and walked away from the both of us.
I sent the pregnant lady a quick awkward smile before I followed after Harry who was now looking at a pyramid of neatly stacked cans of food down the isle.
"I'm proud of you." I told him once I approached his side, the both of us not looking at eachother as we stared at the cans.
Harry let out a small scoff in response.
"The only reason I helped her out was because you were practically breathing down my neck and tugging my shirt telling me to lend her some money." He grit out in obvious irritation.
"Oh come on, that could've been me if my pregnancy test was positive. Don't worry, I promise I'll pay you back when I get some mone-"
"It's not about that. You're supposed to be a demon now Liza. Act like one." He snapped at me, catching me off guard with his cold tone as his harsh gaze softened when he saw the look on my face.
"I apologize my lady, I didn't mean to raise my voice at you, I'm just- I'm just frustrated. I didn't have my morning pilates today." Harry breathed out, trying to calm himself down as I pondered his statement before I looked over at the display of cans in front of me.
"When did you start doing pilates?"
He didn't answer for a moment and I turned my head to stare at him only to find that his cheeks were flushing.
"Ever since I met you... you stress me out." He mumbled under his breath like an embarrassed child.
My gaze traveled back to the neat display of cans in front of us once again.
I'm sorry canned ravioli, but I must.
"Yo mama is so ugly!" I yelled before knocking the pyramid of food down to the floor letting them all roll and clatter to the ground as Harry stayed still and gave me a look.
I was breathing heavily, looking down at the mess I had made in the middle of the isle, adrenaline coursing through my veins as I brought my head up to meet his gaze with wide excited eyes.
"My mother died after she birthed me.... What did she ever do to you?" Harry questioned, blinking at me in bewilderment as his lips quirked up in the slightest grin of amusement when he took in my horrified expression at his words.
Shit, I totally forgot about that part, that's why his mom was never in his story.
"Oh shoot no- no I'm sorry I didn't- I uh- it's supposed to be like, like my catch phrase before I do something you know. I don't know why I chose yo mama jokes but it just- it kind of just happened and since you did something nice I wanted to do something evil like the demon I am now." I explained in a rush of words that quickly fumbled out of my mouth as I nervously fiddled with my fingers.
Harry continued to stare at me as if I had grown a second head, like a second head between my crotch or somethint not even on my shoulders.
"See look, I just- I just ruined the nice display that probably took someone a whole fifteen minutes to stack." I pointed out, gesturing to the cans on the ground as he blinked at me intensely.
"I have the strongest urge to kiss you right now and I don't know why..." He finally spoke up, his voice low and confused as he took a step closer to me, making me swallow when his tall well built frame towered above mine.
"Oh wow, I was honestly just expecting a pat on the back or a 'nice try' but yes, yes I will take kisses." I nodded eagerly, tilting my head up and pursing my lips trying not to smile as I closed my eyes and stood on my tippy toes.
I stood there for a few moments before I felt his lips at my ear.
"Manager's coming over." Harry simply whispered making my eyes snap open in fear before I backed away and gawked at the mess I made at the floor in a panic.
"Gah! No please help me uh- help me pick these up! Shit, I need to put everything back." I wheezed, falling to my knees as I desperately began to sweep the food cans on the ground into my arms, gathering them before I looked up to find Harry already across the hall walking away from me.
"I don't know her..." I heard him sing out in a teasing voice before I watched his floppy brown hair disappear around the corner making my face pale as I quickened my actions, hurriedly moving the cans back onto the stand to stack them as footsteps slowly approached me from behind.
"And what do we have here..." The voice behind me drawled out as I froze.
"I'm so sorry I was just- I knocked the display down but I promise I'll put everything back the way it was and even buy a few cans of this delicious ravioli once I get some money-" I rambled out, turning around still crouched on the floor with a nervous expression on my face only for my jaw to drop at the sight of Harry smirking down at me like the cheshire cat himself.
"Such a scary little demon you are." He snickered, lowering his head as he peered down at me with a mocking dimpled grin on his face making me narrow my eyes at him in annoyanace before I rose to my feet.
"You know this whole hocus pocus disappearing reappearing act is getting old... real fast. It's like there's more than just one of you and you're everywhere..." I began, crossing my arms over my chest before my words slowly trailed off by the end of my statement as a realization dawned upon me.
"Vampire, Psycho, Assassin- holy jeez! Where are they? We have to find them!" I exclaimed in shock, wondering how the thought of them actually slipped my mind as I gripped onto the front of Demon Harry's shirt in urgency.
Harry's face suddenly turned serious, his eyes filled with sympathy as he gently carresed my hand that was holding his shirt with his own as he looked down at me.
"Liza I'm sorry but..." He began, the look on his face making my blood run cold as he ran his thumb along the skin of my hand.
"They're all dead." He told me, his voice soft as I felt my heart shatter in two at his words.
My hands were shaking and I was beginning to have terrible flashbacks of what I did to all of them in my own fanfiction as I shook my head in denial, my breathing becoming rapid as I looked at Harry.
"No they- they can't be... Are you serious?" I asked, trying to swallow the lump that was forming in my throat before Demon Harry's straight face broke into that care free mischevious grin once again.
"Nahhhh I'm just being an ass. They're still alive." He said with a raspy laugh, ignoring the furious look on my face as he casually walked passed me and bent down to pick up the cans, proceeding to stack them back in their place.
"What is wrong with you? That wasn't funny at all I'm trying to be nice to you and you pull that shit on me. You knew that would scare the hell out of me!" I exclaimed at him, yanking him up by the back of his collar as I glared at him, only for my gaze to meet his cold eyes as his body tensed.
"Well pardon me for my bitter state my lady," He growled out, trying to shrug my hand away from him as he looked back down at the can of food in his large hand.
"When we were both stabbed in my chamber we were transforming into demons. I was going to accept my fate and keep you close in my arms no matter what and when our bodies had both absorbed the dark energy I already planned to take over the kingdom with you by my side." He suddenly retorted, his voice chillingly cold and distant as he glared at me.
"I wanted to make you my queen the moment I first layed eyes on you, even back in your own story- whether it was being a kind queen or a demon one, all I wanted was to have you by my side no matter what." He grit out, dropping the can to the floor as it hit the ground with a small clink before he slowly turned his body to me, his eyes never leaving mine.
"After you blanked out when the wound in your chest started to obtain the darkness from the blade, all the Harrys, the Assassin," He said, taking a menacing step towards me, his head slightly tilted to the side in a sinister manner as I backed away automatically, intimidated by his intense gaze.
"The Psycho," He continued, taking another step closer making me take one step back.
"The Vampire," He finished, nearing me as my back hit the ridges of one of the shelves in the empty isle.
"They all materialized into thin air, even Clarece, and I was like, okay cool, it's whatever." He shrugged, his playful tone slightly peeking out from underneath his serious state before he closed the distance between us and slammed the palms of his hands adruptly against the shelf behind me on both sides of my head, caging my body there as he glowered down at me.
"Then you started to fade away, your body that was against mine was diminishing into thin air right before my own eyes. I thought- I thought you were going back into your own story and I was trying to hold your disappearing body close to mine, crying and screaming pathetically for whatever force was doing this not to take you away from me again." He swallowed, his voice slightly shakey and his chest rising and falling rapidly as I heard the metal of the shelves behind me creak, making my eyes shift to find him gripping onto them in frustration, actually leaving an indent from his inhumane strength.
"You eventually vanished just like the rest of them and I took over the kingdom and ruled alone like a tyrant until it was in ruins. Seeing you here made me realize that you and the others ended up disappearing at the ending of the prologue only to fast forward and reappear in the first chapter like nothing ever happened. But me, I had to live for centuries without seeing you, it didn't just end there at the prologue and automatically bring me to this chapter. This is my story. I lived on until the modern society you know today took place -fuck I even went to fucking disneyland when it first opened because the small Prince inside of me was hoping you would be a princess there!" He snapped, his shoulders heaving as I gaped up at him in shock.
"I know it only seems like a few moments since you've seen me.... but it has been centuries since I've seen you Lady Liza... and I fucking missed you." His voice broke by the end of his sentence and he grit his teeth, his eyes filled with pain as he hung his head, shaking it in shame to avoid my gaze making his hair brush against my face before he pushed himself off the isle attempting to walk away from me until I grabbed his wrist and stopped him.
I pulled him into my arms, hugging him tightly against my body as he buried his face into the crook of my neck, trying to calm his breathing as I ran my hands through his hair in a soothing manner.
"I'm sorry princess, I'm here now," I reassured him in a gentle tone, raking my fingers through his soft hair before I brought my hands down to cup his face, bringing it up so our eyes would connect.
"I won't leave anymore, I promise." I told him, hoping he could see the sincerity in my eyes as his grip slightly tightened around my waist, pressing me closer against his body before he leaned his head down, our lips only a breath away until I felt a sudden pang of pain in my chest.
"Ouch." We both said in unison, breaking away from eachother to clutch at our chests.
I didn't feel a heart beat since I was now a demon- which is still freaking me out- but I swear I felt something there.
"I felt like I just got punched in the boob, what was that?" I asked, scrunching my face up in distress as I rubbed at my chest.
"I don't... I don't know," Harry began, although the guarded look on his face made me think otherwise as he ran his tongue along his lower lip.
"Wanna try again?" He proposed.
"Sure." I shrugged, gesturing him to come closer as we pursed our lips, closing our eyes and leaning in to kiss one another only for that sudden pang to thrum straight from my heart once again, making the both of us retract back immediatly.
"Aha fuck! Nope! Nope!" Harry winced, gritting his teeth while jumping on the balls of his feet as he rubbed at his chest.
"I though my vagina is supposed to burn when we touch, not my non existent heart." I cringed, frowning as I leaned against the isle trying to catch my breath.
"Hey," Harry said, nudging my foot with his to catch my attention when he saw the frown on my face.
He then kissed the palm of his hand and slapped it on my forehead almost making me fall back at the impact as I scowled.
"What was that for?" I growled, now rubbing my reddened forehead that was throbbing along with my chest while Harry simply grinned.
"My kiss." He said, the smile never leaving his face before I lowered my hand from my head and gave him a look.
"Alright," I said, slowly nodding in understanding before I looked down at my hand, balling it into a tight fist before kissing my knuckles.
"Stay still, I'm going to give you my kiss." I smirked, watching in amusement as his eyes widened when he saw me raise my fist before he laughed and blocked my hit before I could even make contact with his face.
"So, are you going to help find the other three Harrys?" I suddenly said, bringing back the important subject as he held my fist which was only inches away from my his face before he brought it down.
"I guess, if that is what you desire, but we'll have to start tomorrow." He said as I furrowed my brows in confusion.
"What? Why not now, what if they're hurt or confused and-"
"Liza it's been a long twenty four hours for you, first you were acting like a crazy clingy main character no one likes in stories when you were under that love spell, then you and I got skewered like barbeque, then you turned into a demon and found out you're not pregnant with our little Carlton which by the way- I'm still not over." Harry explained, letting his words sink in as I finally felt the weight of everything that happened to me along with the pent up exhaustion as I frowned.
"You need to rest," He said, placing his hand over my shoulder as he looked down at me.
"And I'm not just saying that just because your eyelids look like they could unfold and reach to the floor and be used as a runway carpet." He finished as I narrowed my eyes at him while he sent me a playful teasing smirk.
"Okay." I sighed in defeat, kneeling back down on the floor to clean up the mess I made.
I wasn't just going to leave without putting all the cans back.
"Just want you to know you're going to be going to a place where no human has ever entered." Harry informed, crouching down next to the pile of cans I was stacking as he brought the cans down, trying to undo my work making me swat his hand away in annoyance.
"What is it... hell?" I mused, grabbing the items out of his large hands and restacking them in their proper order.
"Close." He said before the rest of the cans that were disgarded on the ground vanished into thin air, only to reappear perfectly stacked in a neat pyramid just like before as my eyes widened.
"We're going to my place." He told me, grabbing my hand and bringing me back up to my feet with one pull of his toned arm as he slung it around my shoulder.
"And you're really gonna love that Elvis Presley painting I have in my living room when you see it in person my lil hunka hunka burnin' love." He chuckled, smiling down at me before a thick smoke clouded our bodies and we disappeared into the air.
