When I walked into the door I was greeted by several sets of tiny running feet.

" MAMA!"

" ELLIE!"

" ELLIE!"
Dropping down to my knees I took the three little girls in my arms, hugging them close. Their tight grip had me feel like I was home. Looking up I grinned at the three adults who were watching us.

" Hey."

I said, standing while keeping all three girls supported, Liz looked like she was ready to join in the hug while Abe and Red tried to look manly.

" Nice to see you Blue. Least you can do is smile."

" Eleanor, not a word in three months. We thought you were dead."

" I'm sorry, I was trying to bring back tons of people who were kidnapped from their homes."

" Why didn't you call? Rose was so different without you, she didn't know what to do with herself. She started to drink coffee to be like you Eleanor."

" She hates coffee."

" She wanted to be like you. She missed you more than you can imagine."

" So my little thorn, Dad told me that you drink coffee?"

She nodded, her eyes lighting up.

" Yes! It's really good and I'm just like you now!"

Smiling I handing off the twins to Liz and Red.

" What did I miss while kicking butt?"

She shook her head, her blue eyes wide with honesty.

" Well I have a pot of coffee made if you would want a cup."

Abe said, grinning I jumped to pull Rose up higher on my hip. We all headed over to the kitchen were a nice pot of coffee was being made. Setting Rose on the counter I got down my mug and Abe got out the creamer. It was like I never left, only thing was it was quite. Not much laughter or children running around. So I just sat there drinking my coffee while everyone sat there in silence. It was making me feel very uncomfortable. About halfway though the mug I got up.

" Why are you all so quiet. I'm not dead, I was fighting one of Dad's battles for him. They brought me in because I could blend in with the crowed, why can't you all just stop acting like I died."

They all looked away, only the kids gave me a weird look.

" Eleanor, you didn't call us for three months after being kidnapped. We honestly thought you were dead until Matt called us. We just, it's hard to understand why you didn't call us. We were worried sick, at least Abe tried to call us when he was away."

I turned,

" When I was hunting down the vampire all I could think about was the families who were missing their children, were if I was in that situation. What if my Rose was taken? I couldn't rest, I honestly didn't eat or sleep during those weeks where I was looking for her lair. I could only work. It was to the point where Matt had to damn near drag me to my bed and force me to sleep. When I woke up I went off on my own to find her. And I did, I was kidnapped and torchered for a good three weeks. When I finally had enough I killed the vampire. And I headed right back to the town, Then I came home. The entire time I was captured I thought of my family. I am sorry that I didn't call. In my mind set if I didn't let anything distract me I could come home sooner, but obviously it wasn't the best idea. Now I am going to go to my room and sleep. No, wait, Imma get a shower and No one is to join me. Then I am going to my room and no one is to bother me. Because you know what, obviously I only think of myself. To hell with family."

During the time I was ranting I felt myself shift but at the moment I didn't care. Let them see me mad, let them see that it wasn't easy, that honestly I was mentally drained. Taking my coffee I went and slammed it down into the sink, shattering it. Then I stormed off, slamming the bathroom door and locked with with a snarl. But as soon as I started the water and climbed in i started to cry. I had done nothing but think of them, they kept me going. But they didn't care. I was just Eleanor, the girl who couldn't even make a decision without it being wrong. Curling into a ball I just sat there, letting the hot water run cold. Only when the water felt like ice against my back did I turn it off. But I just sat there,

" Mama, I need to go to the bathroom! May and Bell are in the other one! Please mama!"

Rose. Her sweet voice was the only thing that made me feel like what I did was okay. Wrapping a towel around myself I let her in, but locked it when she quickly ran over to the tub.

" Mama, Daddy missed you lots when you were gone. Please don't be mad at Uncle Red, Aunt Liz and Daddy. They tried to make us happy. I knew you would be back, but they didn't want to think you were going to be back different."

Kneeling down I pulled her onto my lap,

" I am sorry baby, it's just so hard. The vampire lady hurt me a lot. Daddy, needs to see that his words hurt mommy. I love you all so much, but they need to understand."

Tucking her hair behind her ear I kissed her forehead. She hugged me.

" Mama, Daddy sent me in here to make sure you were okay. He want's you to know that he didn't mean to hurt you like he did. He wants to give you lots of hugs and kisses! Also yay! Mama you are giving me baby sisters!"

I blinked, she must mean in a few years, there was no way I was having anymore kids for a few years.

" Sure, maybe later thorn."

She narrowed her eyes but didn't say anything. Getting up I placed her on my hip and headed over to Abe's room. Taking a moment to throw some clothing then went to our normal spot in his room. He wasn't in his tank, so I set Rose down to grab a book and I settled down on our couch, which she jumped right up and snuggled right up placing her head on my lap. When I started to read she let out a sigh. When I got about halfway I realized that she had fallen asleep, her hand grabbing my pant leg with an iron grip. Her face looked so peaceful that I wasn't going to miss out a second of it.

" She hasn't slept much since you were taken. We all haven't, it's been hard not having you around. Turns out you were the one who kept the kids busy when we weren't paying attention. They missed you so much, it has been hard on everyone, they sat by the door waiting for you to come home."

Abe was leaning on the door of the library, his eyes were glued onto Rose, his face was twisted into a small smile.

" I am sorry I acted the way I did, I am just angry that it wasn't home when I arrived, it was like returning to an empty shell. Plus the first thing you said to me was that you thought I was dead. You honestly think that I am that easy to kill? I am your wife, sister to Hellboy, the one who chose to do as she wishes. I am not some weak girl needing to be yelled at when I don't follow the rules. But I also not a heroine, I am just me, the girl who does what she wants. So fuck off when telling me anything."

I narrowed my eyes in challenge. No way was I going to let him act the way he did. He scoffed,

" You are telling me this, yet you acted the same way when I got back from my mission. Yet, I let you yell at me. How is this any different?"

I jumped up, pointing a finger at him,

" Don't you freaking say it's the same! You willingly left, I was dragged away. They said if I said anything they didn't like then everyone I loved was going to end up dead. So I wasn't going to risk the lives of the people I love the most. You just couldn't find signal. So do not compare me to you in that moment."

I turned to sit back down only to see Rose sitting up with large tears welled up. Her arms were crossed and she was scowling at us.

" I don't want you and Mama to fight anymore! You just can't! I will never forgive you if you keep fighting. Mama did lots of things, so did you Daddy. No more fighting or I will hide the coffee!"

Her serious look had me kneeling on the floor laughing.

" She is my kid, thank god! Coffee lover and all. Sure knows a threat when she hears one! God my baby is good."

I pulled her onto my lap and started tickling and kissing her all over. But then we were both lifted high into the air, Abe spun us around and for a moment I was on cloud nine. When he set us down I turned and kissed him, causing Rose to giggle.

" Yay, Mama and Daddy are happy again."

Rose was too good for this world, and I hoped that the world always saw her for what an angel she was. My little thorn.
