Jimin

Three left.

About two hours after elimination, the final three sat outside during the night with the full moon shining overhead. Jimin could hear the crickets, but otherwise, it was a peaceful evening. It also helped that all three of them had showered and changed into simple attire. Both Jimin and Jungkook wore gray sweatpants and white t-shirts while Y/n wore loose shorts and a black shirt that blended in with the sky.

The three of them sat at the table near the bubbling hot tub Jimin hadn't wanted to dive in that night. He was too exhausted from service. Running the pass had taken a lot out of him, and he had a feeling he'd cut the celebration short to pass the fuck out in a few minutes. His eyes felt like they were below the Earth's surface, that was how heavy they were.

"You guys aren't going to sabotage me and throw me under the bus tomorrow, are you?" Jungkook asked with a snort as he smoked. He blew the polluted air out in a ring, and Jimin almost found it impressive. Almost.

"No. No point. If we did that, that'd basically solidify you winning," Jimin replied with a tongue click. "We have to show team strength now. There isn't enough time left for sabotage or petty arguments."

"Oh, so you're saying if there was, you'd do it?"

"I'll let you decide that." Jimin smirked and took a sip from his water. He and Y/n had water with an obnoxious amount of ice cubes in them while Jungkook opted for a Coke. How Jungkook could stomach that after a long night was beyond Jimin, but he didn't bother questioning it.

Jungkook yawned and kicked his dogs up on the table, and Jimin grimaced.

"Ew. Put your dogs away."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

And Jimin and Jungkook went back and forth like that for lord knew how long. Jimin guessed it went on a solid two minutes, but then, he sighed and gave up. There was no arguing with Jungkook. At least they had never eaten at that table. It was like a smoking table, ever since Dennis had vowed Diya to smoke away from her. That felt like ages ago.

Jungkook kept his dogs on the table and wiggled his toes. Jimin averted his gaze and rolled his eyes. His stare ended up on Y/n, who hadn't said much. She wasn't frowning, but she had her eyes on the table and hadn't contributed to the conversation thus far.

"Hey," Jimin said, holding her hand under the table and on top of her thigh. "You doing okay?"

"Yeah. Just miss Seulgi, that's all."

"So you'd rather I went home?" Jungkook asked with a snort, and Jimin glared. Jungkook stiffened at that, and then, he took his dogs off the table and sighed. "Sorry. Bad time for jokes. I know you were close to her."

"Not 'close,' but it's sad, you know? I didn't know she liked me at all, and she spent her last few seconds on the show trying to boost me up. Makes me wish I spent more time with her."

"Well, it's not like she died, Y/n," Jungkook said, and Jimin gave up with glaring. Jungkook managed to say whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. "I'm not being sarcastic: I mean it. She didn't die, so you'll get plenty more chances to meet her. Hell's Kitchen is ending soon, yeah, but it ending means we're opening doors to new beginnings. Much better beginnings than we have right now. All three of us will get better lives because of this, no matter which one of us wins."

"Yeah, that's fair, but I'll miss it. I'll miss getting yelled at by Gordon. Never thought I'd say that."

"Me too," Jimin said with a chuckle, squeezing her hand. "But it's for the best, right? I know it's sad, but let's enjoy the time we have left. How does that sound?"

Y/n cracked a smile. "Yeah, that sounds good. As long as we can make out like... a lot. Like, a lot a lot."

"Wow, you two are nasty," Jungkook said, and Y/n stuck her tongue out at him.

"That's what you get for putting your bare toes on the table, you bunny boy."

"Bunny boy? The fuck?"

"You look like a bunny. A tall, muscular bunny, but a bunny nonetheless. You know the Hugh Jackman Easter bunny from that Guardians movie? That's you."

Jimin burst out laughing and almost fell out of his chair. Y/n clung to him to keep him in place, and he managed to sit back up and calm himself.

"Wow. Now that you say it, that's exactly who he is."

"Okay, ouch."

"It's a compliment!" Y/n said, waving her free hand. "He's hot."

"The... Easter bunny... is hot?"

Y/n huffed and kicked at the ground. "He is when he's Hugh Jackman."

Jimin couldn't even be jealous. Yeah, Hugh Jackman was a fine man with a fine voice. Men could be hot. Like Ryan Gosling. And, no, Jimin wasn't just saying that because he liked The Notebook.

"Well, anyway, let's stop talking about this now," Jungkook said, blowing out more smoke and keeping his feet on the ground. "Why don't we talk about our favorite Hell's Kitchen moments so far?"

"Really? You want to get sentimental?" Jimin asked, and Jungkook grunted.

"Anything other than talking about hot animals."

"Hey!" Y/n jabbed her finger in Jungkook's direction. "I find Hugh Jackman hot. Not the bunny. He just... somehow made a bunny hot." Y/n paused to sigh. "I'm digging myself a deeper hole, aren't I?"

"Sorry, babe, but yeah."

"Jimin just called me babe. Life's good. I would slaughter anyone else for saying that, but it's okay when it's Jimin."

"Oh my God," Jungkook said, banging his head off the table like Gordon Ramsay would. He picked his head up, plopped the cigarette in his mouth, and narrowed his eyes. "I hate both of you. Just answer the question before I lose my mind."

"I'd argue you never had one to begin with," Jimin said, but at Jungkook's eye roll, he decided to move on and answer the question. "Well, of course, kissing Y/n in the hot tub is the highlight for me." Before Jungkook could protest, Jimin shushed him. "Quiet, I'm getting to stuff that doesn't involve Y/n. Just let me be happy for once, sheesh."

"You're allowed to be happy, but you don't need to be so obnoxious about it. You two make me cringe so hard that my dick shrivels up inside itself."

"Thank you for that imagery." Jimin shook his head and raised Y/n's hand to kiss the back of it, and then he held her on top of the table instead of underneath it. "I liked the food trucks. Getting to know all the guys. The casino. Watching Louis and Markus fight. Never a dull day in Hell's Kitchen."

"Amen," Y/n said with a small smile. "My answer is similar. I liked all the rewards. It sucks being the only girl now, but that Seulgi hug was worth it. I didn't know she had it in her."

"Gordon didn't either," Jungkook said with a snort. "Not that anyone asked me, but my favorite moment was any time Gordon said donkey."

Jimin quirked a brow. "That's it?"

"Yep."

"Damn."

Y/n snickered, and Jimin couldn't stop his grin. Hearing her laugh somehow got him to do the same, or at least smile. His eyes smiled with him.

It went quiet for a few minutes after that. Jungkook continued smoking, Y/n sat there without speaking, and Jimin focused on holding his lover's hand. It was all gooey and cutesy, but he didn't care. The relationship could have boosted his chances at winning Hell's Kitchen. Of course, as long as he had Y/n, he didn't mind losing, but Gordon had to test Jimin to see if he'd maintain his quality standards even with his girlfriend, to which Jimin had. If he had passed that test, maybe that was the key to passing Hell's Kitchen as a whole.

"I like Korea. I miss home," Jungkook said all of a sudden, and Jimin snapped his head up and raised his brow again. "I don't mind if I don't win. I want to, but I'll get to go home if I don't, and that's a silver lining for me. So... I hope one of you win. You've fought hard for it."

"Good lord. First Seulgi, now Jungkook?" Y/n asked with wide eyes. "What is going on? Is the end really bringing out all the emotions?"

"Yeah. Don't think I like... like you two or some bullshit, but you aren't bad."

Y/n laughed. "That's the closest thing to a compliment Jungkook has ever said."

"Yeah, yeah, suck it up while you can."

Jimin smiled but didn't laugh. He could, but, for some reason, he kept a soft smile instead. He released Y/n's hand only to grab Jungkook's shoulder and squeeze it.

"It doesn't matter who wins. Well, of course it matters, but you're right: our lives change after this. Whether you win, Y/n wins, or I win, we have a new beginning in store. And, at the very least, I have a new friend."

Y/n beamed. "And girlfriend!"

"And lovely girlfriend." Jimin turned and kissed her forehead, and then released Jungkook to hold Y/n's hand again. "Thank you two for being here through it all. I know for sure I'll make it to the finals, so whoever's with me, I can't wait to face off."

Jungkook made a pfft sound. "That confident, huh?"

"Hell yeah. All three of you said I was safe, so suck my ass, I'm gonna be confident. It's fake confidence, but fake it til' you make it, right?"

Jungkook grinned, and he did, in fact, look like a bunny while he did so. "Yeah, yeah you're right. And, for what it's worth, I wasn't lying: I think you'll be in the finals, too."

Damn. Had someone spiked Jungkook's cigarette?

"Thank you. I would say I think the same, but my girl is damn talented."

"Oh, please. You're just saying that cause the dorms will be all yours. Imagine all the sex you can have."

"Jungkook!" Jimin said in a yelp, but when he looked over at Y/n, she had her brows furrowed.

"Wait, he's right. We can have so much sex-"

"Y/n!"

Jungkook and Y/n laughed at Jimin's expense, and Jimin huffed and puffed, not caring if he was acting like a toddler. He felt heat on the back of his neck and ears, and he refused to join in on them teasing him. But he couldn't stop his smile from poking through. Those two were like his best friends.

Damn. Hell's Kitchen really was about the friends he made along the way.
