MG, Monica, Ruby, Lizzie, Landon, and Hope were running through the woods toward the school when suddenly, MG's school phone started to ring. MG looked at the screen and saw that it was Alaric who was calling and immediately panicked, before throwing the phone to Lizzie. "It's for you. No way I'm telling your dad what we're about to do." He insisted.

Lizzie groaned as she looked at the ringing phone in her hands, "I suck at lying." She announced before she looked behind her and saw Landon and immediately tossed the phone to him. "You're great at it."

Landon turned to Hope and passed the phone to her, "You're his favorite." Hope looked at the phone and passed it to Monica. "You're his favourite, actually." She decided, unsure if that was even true. Monica grumbled before basically hurling the phone to Lizzie, "You're the hero!" Monica smirked at the blonde.

Lizzie slowed down and answered the call, putting it on speaker so everyone else could listen as well. "Hi, Daddy..." She greeted Alaric, with a look of panic. "Hey, thought I'd call, check in, see how things are going..." Alaric said as Lizzie smiled fakely as she tried to sound as innocent as possible. "So good..."

"Really? Define good, Lizzie, because I don't think that involves me tracking down Dana's body to the glove compartment of the bus! Alaric snapped as he and Matt had found what's left of Dana's body, indeed shoved into the glove compartment of the bus.

"Listen, Dad, it's fine! We cracked the case. It's a spider—but, like, a bug, huge, nasty spider." Lizzie began to explain. "And MG's comic books know how to kill it!" Lizzie announced as Ruby facepalmed, noticing that MG didn't want Alaric to know of his involvement.

"Comic books? Really?" Alaric asked bluntly. "Lizzie, listen to me—whatever you're thinking of doing? Don't. Okay? So, just tell me where you are, and Matt and I will be right there. And where are Monica and Hope?"

Lizzie replied, "I'm sorry, Dad. You're gonna have to trust me for once." before hanging up the phone. Monica looked impressed by Lizzie's actions. "Let's do this."

Rafael and Josie were caught in spiderwebs, inside the Old mill. Out of nowhere, Ruby leapt into the mill and distracted the creature by shouting at it and catching it's attention by hitting the pipe she was holding, against the metal railing toward the entrance.

"Hey, spider!" She called out. When the arachne turned to see the dormant werewolf, she immediately went pale at the sight of the monstrous creature in front of her. Instead of rushing off in fear, Ruby grit her teeth before calling out to the spider "Get away from my brother, shitbag!"

The arachne hissed back in response, as Hope walked inside, groaning when she saw the arachne moving from its position on the third floor, "I hate spiders." Monica confessed, "Me too. Spiders are gross." as she waltzed in behind her.

Upstairs, Josie used a spell to free herself and Rafael from the cobwebs, which involved kissing Rafael to siphon magic, as her arms had been stuck.

Monica used her vampire speed to zoom up the stairs and quickly brought Josie and Rafael down the stairs, away from the spider. "Rafi!" Ruby called out, relieved as she quickly embraced him. "Hey, hey... I'm okay." Rafael chuckled nervously, hugging his sister back.

"Josie, Lizzie! I need your help!" Hope called out, as Lizzie ran into the mill to join Hope, as Josie also raced over as moments later the girls held hands.

"I have an idea.." Ruby spoke, before turning to Monica and Rafael, "The twins could use our help too and siphon from us." She suggested, assuming it would make the spell easier for them. Monica wanted to protest, but it was actually a good idea.

Hope stood, hands linked with Lizzie and Josie. Ruby took Josie's hand as the Saltzman exchanged a warm smile with the pinkette. Rafael took Lizzie's hand, and then Monica's, as they all stood together.

"Repeat after me witches—Imperium fluctus malleus." Hope said as the Saltzman twins began to chant with her. Everyones hands flashed red as they were linked, the twins siphoned magic from them. The three witches continued to chant the incantation as the arachne screeches at them. "Imperium fluctus malleus. Imperium fluctus malleus. Imperium fluctus malleus."

After some time, the arachne lets out one final screech as it rose into the air and exploded in a gigantic burst of orange goo, causing everyone to screech in absolute disgust.

Hope, Ruby, Lizzie, and MG were at the front of the school gates with Sasha. MG was about to compel her to forget what she'd seen that day as Lizzie, Ruby and Hope chatted quietly.

"Was she bitten?" Ruby asked, worriedly. Hope shook her head, "No, she wasn't." She answered as Ruby looked relieved. Hope gave the pinkette a smile as she didn't even know Sasha or Dana but she'd cared for them, and worried for them. The girl had a big heart.

MG compelled Sasha, making her forget about the supernatural things she has seen, but made sure to include that Dana was dead, and that it was going to hurt, but she'd move on. Once Sasha left, the group turn to walk back to the school. Ruby decided to walk back to the school with Lizzie and MG, as Hope had left on her own.

Lizzie looked excited. "I'm gonna have a hot shower and then go and visit Monica." She decided, wanting to hang out with the Montgomery. Ruby frowned, thinking about the vampire. She seemed so hot and cold... one minute she was caring and empathetic, the next she was nasty and careless. The werewolf didn't get it... but most of all she worried about the fate of Lizzie through all of this.

Ruby looked to Lizzie, with empathy on her face. Lizzie felt like Monica was finally showing her attention but the pinkette wasn't sure if deep down, Monica really did care for Lizzie. She didn't know if the other blonde was aware of how Lizzie much idolised her, and if she was only using the Saltzman. She hoped not, and kept telling herself that Monica was a good person, despite what the vampire insisted.

Monica sat on the bench outside the kitchen, her legs crossed as she relaxed. MG and Kaleb were heard arguing in the kitchen loudly, and she tried to ignore it.

The vampire then heard footsteps and she turned her head, for her eyes to land on a familiar pinkette. "Ruby." Monica greeted her. "Hey." Ruby replied, before taking a seat beside the blonde.

Ruby then offered Monica a mug, to which the vampire looked at questionably. "I have been told you really like coffee." Ruby confessed as Monica smirked, "Indeed I do... a woman after my own heart." She teased, before taking the mug from Ruby's hand. "Thanks."

The vampire then peered over at Ruby, "What are you drinking?" She asked. "Hot chocolate.. If I drink coffee this late at night I will not sleep at all.. I'd probably annoy the hell out of Hope." The werewolf laughed. Monica laughed too, before deciding to make small talk.

"How are you and your brother going? Fitting in okay?" Monica asked. Ruby could tell she didn't care, but would rather make conversation than sit in silence. "Good. I'm friends with Hope and Josie... hopefully I can become friends with Lizzie too. Oh Rafael was telling me he became apart of the wolf pack." She explained as Monica nodded, "Jed can be an ass... I'm surprised he and Rafael didn't fight or anything." Ruby shrugged, "They definitely did."

They then fell silent, and Ruby sighed, deciding to be straight forward. "Awkward question.. why do you always act so cold and distant? I've seen you care for others... for Lizzie." She asked as Monica laughed humourlessly, before turning to Ruby. "It's not an act.. I don't care about anyone. I already told you this." She declared, causing Ruby to frown, "I've heard Lizzie gush on about you... about the nice things you've done for her, like comforting her and standing up for her against Dana... are you manipulating her or are you too scared to admit you care?" Ruby asked, as she was digging too much for Monica's liking.

Monica blinked in surprise before frowning at Ruby, "Did you come out here to interrogate me or something?!" She snapped suddenly. Ruby frowned, "I don't know.. I don't understand why you're so hot and cold. You told me today that you have a heart filled with darkness but thinking about it.. I've seen you care about others before— I.. " Ruby trailed off, struggling to speak.

She took a deep breath before she continued. "I feel like you put on a nasty and bitchy front, when really for some reason you don't want to let people in.. or admit you care for others." Ruby finally spoke.

Monica let out a groan before she faced Ruby, "Just accept that I am a bitch, a heartless one at that. Once you accept that, maybe you could try leaving me the hell alone." She snapped, rage visible in her eyes. "There's the thing— I can't accept that. I like to see the good in people. I can see that you're a good person, but you're trying to hide it. Trying to keep people away... you don't have to push others away." Ruby assured the blonde, though she was only feeling angrier by her words.

Monica had no idea where this conversation had come from... Ruby was only a girl she'd met a few days prior. Truthfully, Ruby felt like she didn't know what she was saying, but she truly couldn't believe that Monica was nothing more than a stuck up bitch as she claimed, she knew deep down she wasn't a bad person.

"Don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong wolf." Monica snarled at last, before getting up from her seat. "I don't care about anyone. Only myself." She added before she turned on her heels and walked away, angrily. Ruby's face fell, before she finished her drink, and decided to go back to her dorm.

Ruby entered the dorm, after having a hot shower. She stood in her pyjamas, her long brown and pink hair ringing wet. Hope, who'd just used her magic to automatically make her own hair dry from her shower minutes earlier, looked to Ruby. "Hey roomie." She greeted her.

Ruby smiled back, before walking over to Hope and pulling her in an embrace, hugging her. Hope blinked in surprise, before she hugged the pinkette back. "I missed you while I was gone.." Ruby confessed, before pulling away from the girl. "You did?" Hope asked seeming surprised. Ruby nodded, hoping she wasn't blushing too much. Hope just smiled brightly, as she looked at her roommate intently, "I missed you too."

The tribrid couldn't lie, she'd felt quite lonely without her roommate, even though they hadn't known eachother for long before Ruby had ran away with her brothers. "I uh... talked to Landon. I feel really bad for the way I treated him at the school." Hope admitted as Ruby nodded, "Well.. I'm glad you acknowledged that." She replied.

Hope just smiled back weakly as Ruby retreated back to her own bed. The Waithe laid down, letting out a satisfied sigh as she sunk into the comfortable mattress.
