Eleven months ago, I moved to Boston, Massachusets from San Rafael, California. It was hard to leave the city that I was raised in for almost thirteen years, but I had to. This would give me a chance to start new.

At first, it felt awkward because I knew no one, but then I befriended two girls, Grace Stewart and Indiana Mabel.

I knew Grace because she was assigned to show me around the school during the first day, while I met Indiana through her.

Eleven months later, I was still settling down, but I can't say I'm feeling too comfortable just yet.

Today was the schedule change. This school changed the students' schedules about once in every semester. Everyone was lining up in front of the administration office to get their schedules. Unfortunately, I arrived a few minutes late, and loads of people were already making a long line.

Considering my house was only a few minutes away from school, I'd usually walk to and from school.

About twenty-five minutes later, which felt like an eternity, it was finally my turn to get the schedule.

The woman seated in front of me flashed me a small smile. "I need your name," she said as she flew her hands all over the keyboard.

"Aveline Amaya," I said, and she started to type even faster than before. I emphasized on how to pronounce my last name, which was supposed to be pronounced ah-may-ah, not a-mae-ya, but most people pronounce it like the latter. My dad's a quarter Japanese, while my mom as half, yet they met in America when they were in university. So, I'm one-third Japanese.

She paused typing for a moment, and soon a paper was printed. She smiled at me as she handed me the paper. "Aveline Amaya, here you go," she said she gave me it. I thanked and flashed her a small smile before walking away, feeling a little annoyed that she pronounced my name wrong.

I spotted two familiar girls at the end of the hallway, and I decided to approach them. The familiar tall girl looked at me and smiled. "Hey," Indiana greeted me. Upon hearing her greeting me, Grace turned to me and gave me a small smile.

"So, you're got your schedule," Grace started. "Can I see?"

I nodded my head as I gave the brunette my paper, and she exchanged it with hers. "Seems like the three of us got several classes together," commented Indiana. I had to go on my tippy toes to look at the papers on their hands.

Curse my 4'9" height. Grace was at an average height, while Indiana was above average. She's about 5'7". They've always teased me for my height.

"Look at her struggling," snickered Grace, and Indiana laughed, lowering the papers for me to see. I cast a glare at Grace and thanked Indiana.

Before the schedule change, we only had a few classes together with all three of us in it. Now, we share quite lots of schedules together, either two or all three of us.

Glancing at the watch on my wrist, it was about ten minutes before classes start. The first period was science, where I had this class alone. "I'm going to the science class now. See you," I told the both of them before walking away.

"Awe, you're going to be alone," Grace said, waving at me. "Have fun!"

I was trying hard not to get lost, and thank goodness I finally reached the class without being lost or late.

Entering the room, I noticed that people had started filling in, and all of the most back and front seats were taken. I noticed an empty table on the center left of the class, and I gladly went and sat there.

Our science teacher stepped into the room, and everyone started to get quiet. He was tall and a bit fat (no offense), who most people dislike. He talked too fast, and his handwriting was very messy, making it very hard to note down what he wrote. He also kind of sounded like he thought we were stupid.

He seemed to already have known all of us because he didn't do an attendance check. Instead, he cleared his throat and told us that he had assigned seats for us.

I heard people groaning as all of us stood up, and he called people's names one-by-one as they went to their assigned seats. Apparently, I got the fourth row seat in the left.

I looked around the familiar faces of these people, and I've known most of them through the classes we shared previously, while I've often only seen some in the hallways or somewhere around school, but my eye stopped at a certain boy who I've never seen around before.
