Jealousy Part II
Demonfire_Dagger *blows raspberry* Put this is your pipe and smoke it!! I'm kidding of course!
"So, how was your day?" Connie said, backing up from Stevens embrace.
He frowned and shrugged. "Meh it was alright. But I missed yooou." He reached for her agains only to have her turn and swat his hand away viciously. "Connie?"
"Who was that..." She clenched her teeth as tears pricked her eyes, "Tramp you were with?"
Steven furrowed his brow and took a step back. "Excuse me?"
Connie whirled on him and slapped him. "Who was she?"
"Who was WHO? You have to talk to me!"
"That whorishly dressed skank you were eating with at Fishstew?"
Steven frowned. "Watch your tone, Connie. She's a- a friend I met around a month before my road trip away from Beach City. She showed me the ropes and helped me relieve a lot of built up tension."
Smack!
"Wow! Woooow! You know what? Sleep on the couch tonight." She walked forward to push him back, then laughed angrily and leaned in. "You even smell like a whore!"
Steven threw his head back and laughed so hard it knocked over a few cups and pictures. "You jealous bitch." He spat. "She. Is. A friend. Are you that thick?!"
The shouting continued for hours before they reached a standstill. Connie fumed silently, slamming doors and ignoring Stevens profanities, yells and pleas.
That night Steven stayed up all night, laying on the couch and staring at the ceiling. How could she think he was-? Whatever. Not his problem. But his heart still aches to hold her close and reassure her this was all a big misunderstanding.
Connie cried in solitude as she hugged Stevens pillow tightly. He was cheating. She knew it. Right? What if she was just a friend? What if he left her for the other woman?
The next morning they stayed silent. Steven left mid morning without so much as a glance back and Connie watched out of the corner of her eye as she stroked Lions mane before pushing him to go accompany Steven.
Connie idly wandered around the house, turning up the thermostat every once in awhile. She missed his warmth. His smile and his kisses. She sunk to the floor and sniffled angrily.
Around an hour passed and she was now in the fetal position, rocking and sobbing. She perked up her ears and turned her head towards the door to see Steven and... a woman standing at the door. He tilted his head and turned to the woman who crouched and offered Connie her hand. She took it and crossed her arms, an eyebrow raised and her lips pursed.
"I'm Angelica. Stevens therapist?"
Connie recoiled and blinked. Once. Twice.
Both Steven and Angelica backed up in fear.
"His what?" She asked in a low voice.
"Therapist."
"Steven you are such...a.... big goof! Why didn't you say that before?" She turned to a visibly jumpy Angelica and reached out a hand. She took it and Connie pulled her into a hug. "Thank you."
"I told you." Steven murmured smugly.
Connie nipped at him. "Can you two work on his wording?" She pulled away from Angelica and walked towards Steven, looking up at him earnestly. "I'm sorry. I was..." her face turned burgundy as Steven smiled widely. "Jhmnbb."
"I'm sorry what?" Steven cocked his ear and poked her cheek. "You were what?"
Connie groaned and turned to the therapist for help. "Admitting you were wrong is the first step to success." Angelica said holding back laughter.
"You guys are both mean." Connie pouted.
Steven gave her a wicked smile that made her throat tighten. "Damn straight. Now," his voice dropped to that sexy octave that made her quake, "Tell me, Kahanni, were you going to say something?"
"N-no!"
"I think you were, Brat."
"Fine I was jealous!"
"Good girl."
"You guys have an electric dynamic. It's really hot and cute at the same time. But anyways, I should be going. My husbands making enchiladas tonight!"
Angelica left with a hug to them both and disappeared down the road.
"Well then."
"Let's never do that again. My back can't take it on that couch." Steven groaned.
"You seem to handle the couch just fine any other time." Connie giggled.
"Maybe we haven't been using it enough." He lifted her over his shoulder, smacking her butt when she wiggled. "No more of that, okay? Not that bad. I'll never leave you. I promise. You fulfill every need I have."
"Oh. Okay." Connie said through tears.
Steven nodded and threw her onto the couch. "And as for why I smell like a 'whore'," he said pointedly, "I was attempting to find that Prima Noir stuff you love from Avon."
( A/N: Sponsor me, Avon. Sponsor me.)
Anyways I hope you enjoy the last chapter (and maybe one more) until I get out of the hospital!
